Cabrito Tapas & Bebidas
Restaurant food and service was very good. Tables were too small and restaurant was about 15 degrees too warm. A blind and fans were needed. I would recommend this place higher if it weren’t so uncomfortable
Party of 6 on a Saturday evening at 6pm. The restaurant was out of a bunch of items on their menu; they were also out of goat, which is the name of the restaurant. Food they had was good but we kept under ordering and the wait staff were not making suggestions on quantity to order. We ordered the shrimp and it came out with 5 shrimp, one each and it was gone. We were a party of 6 a little help in ordering would have been appreciated. This continued all evening we would guess how many we needed and they took our order but it was never enough and we would have to order more. Drinks: started with the Negroni Blanca; they do it as a two oz drink and it comes with so much ice I felt like I was given an empty drink. Needs to be a 3oz with a large cube. Overall I would probably go back but only as a party of 2, would find another for large party. Not having a full menu early on a sat was a big miss to me. I would expect that on a Monday or late Sunday not the beginning of the busiest night for dining.
Altho we found it to be a little on the pricey side, the food was good and the service was very good.
There were 6 of us and when I made reservations I was under the impression we'd have to wait til ALL OF US arrived before we could be seated but that was VERY WRONG...they seated 2 of us and then we waited for the other 4 and it was no problem. they were most accommodating!!! It was HAPPY HOUR time and again, they were most co-operative with drinks/food being ordered to include the 'happy hour' price.
Very cute little place - I imagine it could be quite loud when completely full but we were fine.
Overall - we would go back!!!
It was noisy because of us! Excellent brunch!!!!!!
Tasted great, but $7ish for 7small pieces of potato wrapped in bacon & aioli is not ideal.
Items on menu not available. Had the pork dish. Too much blubber
Wine was the only good thing. We, my friends and my wife, myself were very disappointed. After our meal we had the urge going for a hamburger at A&W.
Came for their dine out menu. Our services was wonderful but our meals took a long time to arrive. Portion size is a bit small for some mains.
Took the opportunity to try Cabrito during Dine Out event. The food was great, the service cheerful and friendly, and the restaurant had a energetic yet intimate feel. Here’s the but... I don’t think the value was there for a $35 menu.
I booked this spot as i love Spanish food
Having been to Spain on multiple road trips, I've been to many towns and I know what a tapa can and should be, tapas are great but this restaurant is serving one tapa-sized dish up as a main and charing a main price for it.
Our bill was $110 and we had to eat later that evening.
I ordered the goat dish and I had to ask the server was there not supposed to be goat in this, he said oh its shredded through the cheese: it was not present at all. Then, for table next to us he changed his narrative saying the the meat was “whipped” into the cheese and they wouldn’t be able to see it!!! The problem with that lie is that goat meat is very distinctive and there simply was no goat meat present.
The other main was also pathetically small
Place was great, servers were cool- I was just cringing for them as they had to make excuses about the poor food
I left there feeling really angry that I had paid so much for so little the food’s real value was $30 max.
We loved the food. We tried a number of different tapas and they were amazing
Just avoid it. Terrible staff, a server argued with my friend that eggs were dairy. Didn't know what was in their dishes. Told a celiac that there was no gluten and the dish was made from potato flour. Turned out it was made from regular flour. Couldn't accommodate proper seating. The server was rude and very condescending and we were talked down to the entire service. It was a birthday party and we left after an hour to drink somewhere else. They even made mistakes on the bills. Wanted to love this place but would rather not be treated like a burden or talked down to by staff. The place is expensive and not worth it. The worst thing was it was 7 of us and we were the only table in the restaurant- no excuse.
We were a group of 8 and they seated us in a covered porch type area with heat lamps above our head for warmth. However, it was very hot from shoulders up and very cold from knees down. It was very difficult to enjoy the very good food as we were all very uncomfortable. The service was a little hit and miss and we ended up picking up the bill for the entire group as this tapas restaurant could not keep track of who ordered what food (Apparently the drinks were not a problem). The servers should really try to collect dishes as they deliver more food. The small table got buried in food and we were juggling cutlery and glasses to make more room. Also it was incredibly noisy so we couldn't hear each other. I think we will go back, but maybe just the two of us, instead of a group. Food really deserves another shot. It was pretty tasty. Just seems that tapas should be shared and a group should make sense. Not the restaurants fault, but parking is an issue in this location, so if you can, the Skytrain station is not far away.
Good food. Lots of variety and reasonable prices. We really enjoyed the prawns and calamari, so doubled up on those. Portions of bread are really small, so for 4 of us we ordered bread three times.
Food and service was good although very expensive for small tapas plates. Made a reservation and showed up 10 minutes early, but they wouldn't allow us to sit until the rest of our party arrived which was a bit strange. Great cocktails and Spanish tapas but would hesitate to come back due to the costs.
Fantastic food and drink. Unfortunately we were seated on the patio and the heaters were on far too hot. Apart from that it was great!
We had our family meeting in Vancouver and this location was a referral from a friend. The food is served true Tapas style with you ordering and sharing all the items. I recommend that you make a reservation as we were there until 11 pm and they were packed the whole time. The food is fantastic and the servers are more than experienced to assist in options. They also have a drink special and happy hour that starts at 10 pm. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I booked for 3- called and added a 4th. When we showed there was no communication about a 4th person.
We were seated on the patio- which had a big heater- so front of body very hot. The patio is held together with a tarp- with a 3 inch gap- allowing very cold air to come from behind.
Maybe it's nice in the summer but it was pretty cold on New Years. Staff was good about everything.. but I wouldn't chose to spend $75 for dinner per person (our bill) to be cold.
