Some of us got sick off the food. The place could use some remodeling especially the bathroom.
Fantastic food and great service. We will for sure be back.
Wonderful experience! Food was awesome server was graceful and provided a brief history of Peruvian cuisine. Would definitely go again to try other entrees.
My family loves this restaurant and its a favorite place to introduce friends and family to typical Peruvian food that's delicious and not too chi-chi. Good ethnic choice.
I've been coming to this restaurant for a long time the food and service has always been delicious and great!
Great food, big portions and friendly staff! Very enjoyable experience!!
The food is AMAZING, and our server was kind and contributed to the overall ambiance of a fun, yet relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing and you get a really good amount. Inexpensive and friendly.
The food was amazing. Was waited on almost immediately and wait for food was very brief. The ceviche and Lomo Saltado is to die for. I can’t wait to go back.
The food (very authentic) and service were both amazing. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Peruvian!
Delicious food! One of our best dinner highlights from our visit to Chicago. Each traditional Peruvian dish follows quality and traditional flavors with a kick of an important ingredient sticking out. Service was great! Very sweet Peruvian lady was kind and got all the food correctly.
I've been coming to this restaurant for years now and support neighborhood restaurants as well for family and friends and company's affairs service food all thumbs up
The food was amazing. We were surprised that this place was not packed on a Saturday night. Our server knew the menu with precision and made great recommendations. Had a great time and we will go back.
Server was TOO chatty.
Took my date out for her birthday May Rio’s D’Sudamerica. I wanted to surprise her with her favorite donut from Dunkin Donut so outlined my surprise plan to the restaurant. To my surprise, they were so receptive of my idea. The food and service was excellent, they were attentive to the details and the donut surprise went so well! Thank you so much for everything
When we walk into the restaurant the servers were talking to each other and took them a couple of minutes to acknowledge us. Then I ordered a medium well cook New York stake and they served me a stake that was rare, almost raw.
Food was incredible and waitress was very nice. Restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday night which was surprising given the awesome food. If you have not tried Peruvian food this place is a must!
Space is big enough to handle a large group. Food was delicious and very large portions- we took half home. The crab/ shrimp appetizer is to die for. I understand why this place has been in business so long- fabulous service too, but it wasn’t very busy ( caught them in between rushes). Sunday buffet look like something to come back for. Don’t let the appearance stop you, it is a bit dark.
Everything was delicious and service was excellent!
Really good food and ambience with excellent service.
The ambient was good but the service was poor. It took forever for a server to come by and when she came she wasn't very helpful. It was our first time there and we wanted some recommendations and or explanations but the server was borderline rude. Perhaps the place was too busy and she was the only server there, but that she shouldn't behave in such manner.
Everything was great. Food is always delicious. 1st time trying the buffet, was disappointed with the paper plates.
Very fun and friendly staff. Enjoyed our meal. Peruvian food was tasty and authetic.
Food was authentic, being Peruvian it was good to taste Lomo Saltado that tasted like my uncle used to make, and Aguadito de Pollo that tasted exactly like my Abuelitas used to taste..made me tear up a little.
We were there at 130pm right after they opened and left around 3pm and no-one else came in so it was really quiet. Besides that our server was really nice and we enjoyed the food. Would recommend maybe for dinner, when the atmosphere would be more vibrant!
The restaurant had very few patrons that evening. We went at 6:30pm on a Sunday. The food was good and the server was pleasant. She gave us good recommendations and we enjoyed ourselves. The fact that the restaurant was so empty played in the back of my mind the whole time. Quite honestly, it should have had more people, because the food and ambiance warranted a healthier crowd.
It was pretty empty on a Sunday night. We got there 15 minutes early for an 8:00 reservation, which was good since the kitchen closed at 8:00. Open Table should tell you that. Anyway, we were seated immediately. Angela, our server was very helpful. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the ceviche de camarones, empanadas, and two kinds of steak.
Arrived with party of 8 for Birthday celebration and individual serving us was excellent. For the most part everyone enjoyed their food but my rice was slightly burned which obviously changed the taste of the food. When server advised, their decision was not to replace my plate but rather make me new rice. At the conclusion of the meal and party received their take home boxes, a gentleman ask if he could take my plate away. I replied that I was still waiting for my rice and take home box. After 5 minutes [been waiting more than 20 min initially] gentleman places a bowl of rice in front of me . I could not eat the rice with my meal because that was mean was already cold . Additionally, still no take home box. Upon tasting the rice, party found it too salty. At end of day, poor service recovery execution. Pay a large bill, surely expect to be treated better than that. Found out at the end that the gentleman who made the call not to replace....the OWNER! Simply unbelievable.
With an increased price of $25 for Easter Sunday Brunch, we called ahead to be sure that dessert was included the brunch menu was expanded from the regular $16 brunch. We were assured that both were true. In fact, they were not. Also, a first for us, we were required to use paper plates for our $25 brunch. The food we had was excellent, but the negatives of the experience outweighed the positives. I am certain they could do better.
A Bucktown neighborhood gem with the added benefit of Peruvian/South American cuisine.
We followed our servers recommendation and ordered just enough food.
Appetizers were excellent especially the ceviche which you cannot miss at a Peruvian restaurant.
Pisco sours were exceptional.
VERY helpful staff ensuring a safe, gluten free experience. A good selection on the Sunday brunch buffet allowing us to sample more of their amazing food. Would go there again and again.
Amazing awesome food ! Great service! We tried this place out couple years ! We had to return for my own birthday party ! Love it and highly recommend
The food was amazing as always, civeche was amazing, took a little time
For the food to come out, but will definitely be back
Went here for my wife's birthday and the place was great. Great food, great service.
The food was good but nothing special.
This was my second time in a week at the restaurant and I must say that's its an awesome place! The food, service and ambiance were outstanding! It's a must visit place if you are in for a Peruvian, Brazilian, and Argentine cuisine!
Impressive wall murals inside restaurant. Food was good Latin flavors.
This is one of the best-kept culinary secrets in Chicago. I've been enjoying the food of this establishment since the late 1990's (when it was Riconcito Sudamericano a few doors down just east of Damen), and the quality has has been consistently outstanding. Service was a bit off this time during an otherwise terrific dining experience. (Note to bar staff: It would be great if the peruvian pisco sours where made the way prior to the move to the current address. They were not only authentic but the best in town!)
