Ristorante Don Giovanni - Mountain View
We went for lunch and it was great food for a reasonable price.
This is a great restaurant to meet and talk with friends. Great food and service!
We took a business group there for dinner, with 10 people. The service and the food were excellent and we had a nice round table so we could all talk to each other in the relatively quiet main dining room. It was Wednesday so I am not sure about noise levels on other nights, but I will definitely go there again next time we have a business dinner.
I ordered the fruti de mare over linguini, my friend had chicken parm. Overall the food was good. The server was abrupt and in my opinion rude to the buss boy & hostess during the entire visit. That made the evening less enjoyable and we just wanted to finish our meals and leave.
Ristorante Don Giovanni never disappoints! Their food is scrumptious and not overly salty, like many of the restaurants nowadays. All the ingredients are always very fresh. One of the best Italian restaurants around!
Excellent service and excellent food as always!!!!
It was our42 year wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful. It was our waiters first night and he was great. Perfect evening
The food was fabulous, service great and atmosphere fun. Priced a tad high. Only 1 person in our group didn't like their dish. It was gnocchi and she hadn't had it before. Said it was just too plain and blah. The lamb dish which a few of us had was excellent.
Excellent experience all the way around. Will be back....
This restaurant is overrated. I went there hoping to have the eggplant parmigiana which is on the website menu, but is not on the actual menu. My wife and I felt the food was just okay. We have no reason to return.
When we arrived our friends had arrived a few minutes early and had ordered wine and were seated at our table for 7 people. The server was attentive and our orders came out from kitchen in reasonable amount of time. The food was delicious. I would recommend Don Giovanni's.
Pleasant atmosphere, quiet at the early hour so it was great for conversation. Service is always excellent. Nice dinner and wine with a little port after. A good choice for us when we attend an event at Mt. View Performing Arts
The restaurant was almost empty (first sign) when we arrived. We were a table of 6 that sat at an outdoor table. The service was slow. When they finally brought our dinners, they brought 4 wrong dishes and only 2 correct dishes. They even made a big deal out of who's fault it was (chef, server, etc.) rather than just take care of it right away. They did not offer any discount, etc without us first asking. I will not return!
Appetizers were fantastic and there signature mixed green salad with there signature dressing was delicious .. we keep coming back!
Beautiful restaurant, leisurely meal with excellent, friendly servers. Unfortunately, our meals were unremarkable. My linguine with tiger prawns tasted a bit “off” - as if one or more of the ingredients as not fresh (and a few hours later, digestive distress ensued). My friend’s gnocchi was edible, not incredible. I would not return.
Alfredo was our server and he was very attentive and friendly
Entertained out-of-town business acquaintances there - fantastic experience. The food and service were outstanding. The waiter recommended an octopus appetizer that was perfectly cooked - soft chew and nicely charred.
One of our favorite restaurants! We are never disappointed. The food and service are wonderful!
We had a wonderful dinner here on a Saturday evening. Excellent service and delicious food.
Excellent service, excellent food, been going there for years. Never had a bad meal.
an excellent location. A great place for lunch. Also for dinner. If you like Italian with great service, come here
had two pastas and bruschetta
bruschetta bread was so hard it was almost inedible, had to transfer the tomatoes to the free bread...
the veal pasta was decent, nothing memorable or great, but fine
the angel hair tomato basil pasta was so overcooked, and literally tasted worse than sauce straight out of a jar... if i tried to make tomato sauce taste as bad as possible, i dont think i could make one as bad as this
to top it off, the service was maybe the worst ive had in maybe 4 5 years? no one ever asked how things were a single time. it took forever to take orders, the bruschetta never came after like 20 minutes and i had to ask where it was, check never came after like 30 minutes and had to ask for it.. and there were literally only 1-3 other tables in the entire restaurant...
i think ive only ever given 1 other 1 star review before...
A fabulous lunch venu with great service.
Ealy dinner after a matinee theater performance. Best sea bass I've ever had; had been delivered fresh that day and was one of the specials. The special meat lasagne was also excellent.
The Braised short ribs were the bomb! The salads were also very good as was our waiter. They always reserve the window seat for us. That table there gives us more room for the four of us. I highly recommend Ristorante Don Giovani!!! ENJOY!
This is one of our favorite places to go! Have been many, many times, and they always make us feel at home.
One of my usual places to eat italian. The staff is very attentive and the food is delicious.
The food is great, The service is great ! My family and I enjoy our selves every time that we come here.
Great Food and Great Service.I lost my phone and they didnt steal it like most place so thats great.
I have taken co-workers here twice to celebrate our accomplishments. Each time the service and food have been great. We seldom get downtime so it is really appreciated that although the service is attentive but we are never rushed. Also I love that they have a good vegetarian selection which is important. Don Giovanni has become one of my go-to places for these occasions.
Usually start out with calamari and bruschetta with some nice bottles of wine. Main courses are a free fall but we have never been disappointed! Servings are generous.
This was my first time to DG so I don't have much to base a review on except this one meal. Our appetizer, a polenta dish, was excellent. The capellini dish I had was just okay. The flavor was very good but the pasta was overcooked and stuck together and it was hard to get out of the dish. The ambience was very nice, service was excellent and a friend had a drink that she enjoyed. It wasn't a stellar first experience food wise but I would go back and give them another try.
Solid Italian restaurant in Mtn. View. The room is quite large, so it's good for big parties or last minute reservations. Quality Italian food, and friendly and helpful servers.
I was there for lunch during the week for a business meeting. The food was delicious and service was great and prompt. I'd highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go there again.
We came with friends and had a quiet table, excellent service and delicious food. It was a perfect evening!
Very tasty, quality food. Good portions. Excellent service and restaurant has nice ambience.
The food was amazing...but my martini just ok..not chilled/lukewarm. Also had a really good Chardonnay recommended by our served.
Overall a solid Italian restaurant. Had the rock shrimp and scallops fettuccine at lich hour. Pasta was cooked perfectly, the cream sauce had a nice thick consistency but needed a bit more seasoning. The rest of my party enjoyed their dishes and the service was good which was why they didn't get a 3 star rating.
We waited at the hostess station before she acknowledged us even though she was right there. Finally I repeated my name and said I’d like to be seated. Once we were seated there were no more problems
