Roberto's Ristorante & Pizzeria
Meat or cheese filled, topped with choice of meat -or- plain sauce
The food was as good as usual. The service was very nice. The tables were outdoor but were not spaced 6FT apart.
Best Italian food in the Western suburbs!
We have dined at Roberto’s a couple of times in the past month & it was excellent both times. Delicious food, and friendly & attentive staff. Dining outside next to a park gave off a relaxed vibe. White linens on the tables heightened the ambience. Magical place. Our only regret is that we live far away and it left us wishing that we had a Roberto’s in our neighborhood.
I realize that all restaurants are dealing with challenging times. We continue to try to support. I have eaten at Roberto's over the years and have enjoyed the food and the ambience. Unfortunately this may have been an off night. I will go back but I want to point something out to future "diners" during Covid 19. I purposely booked an outside table. I was expecting to be seated along the side of their restaurant which houses a charming patio area. I also noticed that they had expanded their outdoor area beyond the typical patio which seemed appropriate. However when it came time for me to be seated I was paraded through the restaurant, through part of the kitchen and out the back door which led to the alley/rear of their kitchen/carry out restaurant. My view was of dumpsters, some strewn about garbage and carry out/delivery vehicles. If Team Roberto wishes to park people in this location and have them pay the prices they demand, jazz up the tent with some ambience. If asking to sit outside, I would recommend asking to stay out of the tent in the alley.
Very nice outdoor area. Menu is great, food is always good, sometimes service can be a problem.
Only the outdoor seating near the restaurant is quality. Other tables are by a bunch of weeds and outdoor wire tables. We requested a nice table for our anniversary and did not get it. Spent a good amount of money fir not that much food. I literally received 2 tiny potatoes with my veal. No salad or soup for $32?!! We have been going for years, may not go back. Server Patti was awesome. I understand they are trying to get more outdoor seating due to Covid but at their price point they need to do better. Made me very sad and disappointed. As I mentioned we have been going there for years but we nay need to find another Italian spot. They could try to win me back
We are long time customers of Roberto's but hadn't been there since before the virus began. We were shocked when we walked in. The interior has been redone and not too well either. The blinds were removed from the windows and we were blinded by the sun sitting at our table. Also the windows were very dirty. The blinds are very much needed to block out the sun. The walls were painted a dingy beige color that doesn't give any classic old world feel to the place that it formerly had. The decor is minimalistic with no wall hangings. The place just feels barren where before it was very welcoming. The food and service were good but we are very disappointed in the decorating.
Wonderful evening! Outside, great food. Great service from Fernando.
Ah, the prices have gone up since COVID as the dinner salad is now ala carte. Other prices may be higher now, too. However, dining al fresco is very nice, indeed.
Lamb chop was unseasoned and lacking flavor
The service was incredibly good. The only issue was we had a reservation, and showed up on time, but it took 30 minutes to get seated. I understand there are challenges right now with COVID but I was not expecting to wait that long with a reservation. The food was very good, and once we were seated, our dining experience was very good overall.
It was an excellent dining experience! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. What else could we ask for?
We have been to Roberto’s before, but had an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding! We all had a seafood dish as well as raw oysters and calamari per our waiter, Joe’s recommendation. Delicious! The staff was Covid-19 conscious and we felt comfortable and safe dining outside.
A wonderful experience with great food and service.
Need to ask for everything on you think of the tide restaurant that have bread and cheese on the table
Roberto’s is a favorite spot with deliciously consistent entrees and salads, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere whether inside or out. It is a special dining experience, especially during a Pandemic when we have limited options and fun.
Three of us had an early dinner on the patio and felt quite safe with the precautions Roberto's has taken. We enjoy Roberto's because in addition to typical Italian fare, they have several specialty items. Everything we had was truly fantastic; the escargot, grilled polpo and a shaved Parmesan/arugula pizza that was surprisingly amazing. In addition, the service was impeccable. We asked that they select wines from their "Interesting Whites and Rose" list and both choices were a perfect complement to our food and the entire evening. Take a breather, relax and let Roberto's take care of you!
We have dined at Roberto’s for many years. It’s been awhile since our last visit. The waitstaff is outstanding. I was surprised at the prices; seemed a bit high. Loved the grilled shrimp/calamari/octopus appetizer. Overall, enjoyable dinner.
We were so disappointed. The Rotolo AllaRossini is usually out of this world. This time is mediocre at best. Perhaps the regular chef had the night off. We were seriously disappointed.
Great food and atmosphere. The staff was so friendly and helpful
Food was very good, service was fine under current virus circumstances .
Will go back!
great food always, I have never had a bad experience at Roberts
Out favorite place but prices have really gone up and salads are not included with the meal anymore, alot of money
Beautiful day and a great meal. I had the Branzino and it was fabulous.
Great menu selections. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Outdoor seating under a permanent canopy.
The atmosphere at Roberto's inside and outside on the patio is stellar. Not a cookie cutter sports bar atmosphere, just a classic relaxing restaurant. The menu is very large and everything we've ordered has been excellent. They also have a huge variety of wines available and wonderful desserts. Don't miss this great place!
Food was great. Outdoor seating was nice for Father's Day and the weather cooperated.
Can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu-each dish I’ve had has been great. I’m working my way through the menu, but the baked figs are must each visit. Outdoor seating along the park/prairie path is also a big plus.
No surprises—a fantastic meal and experience.—even under the extra stresses of the current conronvirus pandemic. This is one of the best places in Chicago for Italian. The food and wine menus are extensive with choices and everything we have ordered on our many visits to Roberto’s has been top-quality and superb.
This meal was another fabulous encounter. The Fiore di Latte was so fresh and fragrant and nicely drizzled with olive oil and very light sea salt. My branzino was, as usual—like everything I have ever ordered here—phenomenal and the chef happily substituted for the salmon in my husband’s seafood pasta order. There were 2 large pieces of branzino, so I took about 1/2 of mine home!
We were pretty full after our entrees but relaxed awhile after dinner before finding room enough for cheesecake (so perfect) and cappuccino. We do dine on the later side, but while we dallied and digested, the staff made us feel completely welcome and nailed art of warm and friendly hospitality.
I just want to note that due to COVID-19 rules, outside seating was the only option, which we preferred anyway, and our table was under the awning near the edge of the patio; when a light drizzle turned to heavier rain, the waiter, Fernando, and the entire staff could not have been more attentive to getting us settled away from the rain but still properly distanced from others. They quickly and willingly changed out table linens with a smile, as they did for any other table that was feeling the effects of the rain. That’s not easy to do amid the frenzy of making sure all guests are attended to. They were just so professional—we found it impressive! Roberto’s will continue to be at the top of our Favorites list.
Their thin crust pizza is one of Chicago area's finest. The grilled octopus is the best I have found in Chicagoland.
Awesome food & seevice
We had a fantastic dinner on the patio right next to a park.
The food was very good. This restaurant is not following the covid guidelines for Phase 3.
The servers touch the plates both clean and dirty with their hands, The table I was sitting at was metal and had not been cleaned before we sat down. The menus are paper but not new paper from one guest to the next guest. The dessert menu is made of leather and I doubt they are cleaned between servings.
I asked the manager about the lack of sanitation and he said they should be doing table cleaning.
Food was delicious and the wait staff were very professional and friendly!
First time dining in (patio) and had such a wonderful experience. From the hostess that sat us, to our waiter who had great recommendations! Such a great dinner after 3 months of not being able to dine anywhere! Will be back to support local!
It was my first venture out to a restaurant in months. Our waiter was incredible and made us feel so safe. And he was delightful.
We both started with the house salad and both of us had the creamy garlic dressing. It was a nice salad. I don’t think the dressing was homemade?
My friend had the Chicken Vesuvio made with Chicken breasts. He said it was very good. I had the Chicken Scallopini. It was ok, but, it lacked flavor and it was served in a gravy that tasted like water. And had two small brown round potatoes with it. I just think it could have been spiced a little better.
There bread that they give you with the salad was warm and very delicious.
Our Server was great and gave great service.
They have a very extensive wine list as well.
As a whole it was ok, but, we both agreed we wouldn’t rush back.
Everything was perfect. Sat on the patio and had a wonderful lunch. The vegetable lasagna was delicious! The server was extra attentive. Friendly service, delicious food, great ambiance overlooking the prairie path
