Rustic Stone by Dylan McGrath
Very good indeed and an enjoyable experience. Food was excellent all around from the hot stone TBone to pasta dishes and sides. Would recommend.
Room overcrowded and sitting near the door. Very cold should have some type of curtain across the door.
The only thing i woul comment is the smell on the clothes. Too much!! All the clothes smelt at smoke!!
20 minutes waiting for a drink at bar
Hadn’t our table that was pre poked ready
Very slow when ordered food
Steaks were tough
Wonderful service, delicious food but relatively small portions with regards to sides. Wonderful experience overall.
Went here on Saturday food was great as pure usually, all dishes very tasty. loads of choices to choose from. Few things I will comment on is, I was bringing my boyfriend out for his birthday on Saturday with his friend and when I was booking the table mentioned it was going to be his birthday that night and when I had to reconfirm my booking the lady mentioned about his birthday and would acknowledge it on the Saturday night. Then on Saturday when it came to dessert nothing was done I know its only something small to do but was annoyed by it. Also the waiter we had was quite rude and very snappy towards I while I was asking him about what I could order as I have a dairy and soya intolerance and just making sure what I had order was ok. I will note I've only been told recently about these intolerance and still getting use to it so apologies for all the questions towards but I wasn't sure. Also I've been here a number of times throughout the years and abosutely love the place just the service wasn't great at this visit. I tried to inform yous about this on the Saturday while I was paying but it was the same waiter that was serving us and a manger wasn't available. I'll still be back as I love the place but just service was a let down.
Fabulous meal with great service
Food is good but very overpriced.
The small portion of wings as a starter is €9 and you get 4 wings. For the special fillet steak and chips it was over €40 with no extras. This is quite expensive when you are cooking the steak yourself.
The waiter was not very friendly and seemed extremely offended when we asked for ketchup. When I asked him to explain the type of sauce that came with the special he didn't know how to and had to get another waiter to come explain.
The food was nice but not worth the price of the bill. We will not be returning and I will unfortunately not be reccomending.
Food is great, service is great. Downstairs seating is very hot and noisy
A cut above the other area restaurants. Fine service, good drinks. Varied menu. I’d recommend it to friends.
Excellent service and food was wonderful. Seven of us for a special occasion lunch ranging in age from 23 to 90 and everyone delighted with the experience. They have a great lunch offer, great value, we didn't take it up this time but would definitely return
The worst Restaurant in my life, food is awful, the place is ugly
It was very busy and noisy which impacted on the service. Choice was limited for a coeliac even though on the website it’s USP seemed to be for specialist diets but no gluten free pasta or bread even the burgers weren’t gluten free. It wasn’t a relaxing night out, conversation was difficult due to noise level. It’s really a steak house .
The reviews attracted me to this restaurant. As a visitor to Dublin I was deeply disappointed. I should have checked the menu but vegetarians really just not catered for at all. So, my fault. But, the chef wouldn’t even make a simple green side salad. The toilets were filthy and noise extraordinary. The waiter was dismissive and even rude. I ended up having pesto penne. It was dry and rubbery. So, sorry peeps not a good experience.
Two shared starters, Tuna on the Stone, a bottle of wine and 2 espresso martinis, all very enjoyable. My only criticism is the wine list is quite pricey with only one bottle of red wine on the menu priced under €30.00 and the majority of red wines are around mid-thirty range and up.
I love this place. I moved away from dublin a couple of years aho but i still manage to come back a couple of times a year
Great experience and ambiance, steak was nice however a bit to expensive
It was overall a great night and dinner, the only little thing was there were 2 alcoholic drinks added to our bill that weren’t ours but it was rectified once we brought it to the waiters attention.
Really enjoyed our meal at Rustic Stone.
Downside was the seating area. We were downstairs opposite the cloakroom/kitchen door, not the preferred table. Would look for ground floor level table next time. Service and food was great.
I do like to dine here but the waiters are constantly looking at your table to see how far along you are with your meal, felt a slight pressure to hurry up even though I had a booking. Only placed my folk down after finishing dinner and a waiter rushed over to clear the plate.
We enjoyed our experience at Rustic Stone. We both ordered salads and pasta dishes. The flavors were creatively combined and well matched. Be sure to leave room for dessert, as it will be equally creative.
Food was amazing!!!!!! Not very generous with the chips considering the price being paid but would definitely go back!
Service was excellent. Water was topped up continuously. Excellent value for money.
Simply Wonderful. Great food and service. Yes the noise level was high, but so was the energy level. It seemed that everyone in the restaurant was having a special experience.
I got gifted a “taste.ie” gift voucher so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I popped along to this bustling city Centre restaurant and had a truly wonderful evening. All the tables were full with happy chatting diners. The food was excellent, the service outstanding clean modern surroundings. What’s not to like. For €50 the voucher entitled us to a 3 course meal for two PLUS bottle of Wine PLUS after dinner cocktail in the trendy upstairs bar. Unbelievable offer. I challenge anyone to find better value in Dublin at the moment. Go along and Treat yourselves
meat was more meat than fat.
fennel was cold.
only the fries and cauliflower were tasty. Very disappointed.
Food and Service was excellent. Only thing was the portion size for a side was small.
The restaurant and concept are fabulous, however the table was not good for 5 as 1 had to sit opposite an empty place, the tables were far too small for the concept and we were in the restaurant entrance level and felt like we were sitting in a corridor with serving staff and guest pushing past both sides (I was actually bashed into by your front of house!) - it was not a comfortable experience! There was also a draught coni BHF from front door. The wine we chose wasn’t available, we were offered a more expensive one over the wine menu! And we think the cuts of beef were over sold when we had already decided what we wanted - we do not then want to be sold a piece of meat for 100 euro!
Generally the service was ok and the food was good and they did remember it was a birthday with a nice birthday surprise brownie.
Wonderful value and great food. Lively buzzy atmosphere. Lovely professional friendly staff
Lovely food. Very little ambiance! No music and seemed very quiet for a Friday evening.
25th wedding Anniversary from California. Best ever restaurant!
Absolutely fantastic meal finished off with a lovely evening over cocktails on the Bonsai Bar. Superb!
A very mixed impression. The reserved table was not ready on time. Then the "go to the bar for ten minutes" turned into more tha half an hour. And the bar staff was not capable of producing and serving 3 drinks in those 30 minutes. The highlight was beeing placed at the crappiest table ever seen in a resturant, after this waiting period. The great food almost made up for this sh.., almost...
Great food , great service and amazing cocktails
I would not go to this restaurant again. Food isn't special but overpriced and service doesn't match the price tag. Cocktails from Bonsai bar are quite good though.
The food menu presentation is OK but the entire menu feels very thrown together without any thought behind it.
Tables available on ground level but we were bright downstairs. Tables free downstairs but we were seated between two couples and could literally touch their tables ? We asked to move and were told booths looked bigger than they actually were. We had no choice but to move. Ridiculously close to other tables. Booths were small. Wasn’t asked how we would like our burgers cooked ? Came out raw. Had to return. Overall bad experience. Won’t be back. I wouldn’t have bothered to complain but you have sent me this email. Ground floor was hopping. Downstairs felt like you were in a dungeon. Terrible atmosphere.
We booked for group night out and must say that everyone was very happy at the end of the evening. Food was great and also the service. Very happy with the staff from the moment we arrived. Definitely recommended!
We loved the food and service but even though we’d mentioned in the booking that we’re celebrating a birthday no one came over to wish or offer a small sweet treat or something.
Four friends dining and selected this restaurant based on extensive menu and some Yelp! reviews. Two of us very pleased and two disappointed. We were seated and hostess delivered menus. Server distributed water and returns five minutes later and asks “ready to order”? Um, no.....how about drinks? Wine delivered and we ordered a few minutes later. We ordered Mustard Salad (good), raw fish plate (good), and two minestrone (ok). Entrees were delivered; three burgers (two traditional and one with some special add-on items). Two traditional were cool and buns stale. Special burger very good. Halibut to the final diner and it was very good). So, service was clumsy, some food good other not so much. Probably won’t return.
The experience was not expected especially being a chef Dylan McGrath signature restaurant.
