Had an unusually mediocre dinner @ Sanraku/Metreon. Tempura was bland. Sesame chicken was overcooked, dry. Service was perfunctory. They can (and sometimes do) better. Inconsistency is death.
Had a great early dinner. Fantastic!
It is in the mall, so a bit noisy. Fish was good enough, especially Kasugodai was great. We hoped they had more appetizer options.
I would recommend Sanraku for a good, quick and convenient place to eat prior to a show at Yerba Buena. Staff were very friendly
Excellent sushi and super accommodating staff. Can't wait to go back! :-)
Excellent food, great service, outstanding value. We loved it!
Decent sushi, nothing special. Super nice staff but they were busy, and our sushi took a long time to be made. With all the great places in SF I’d suggest trying some where else first
Service could be improved a lot. Location is okay.
Friendly staff, reasonably priced good food in.a convenient location. Casual atmosphere. Perfect place to meet up with friends.
Not particularly impressed with Sashimi. The pieces don’t taste fresh.
I had fish bones in my negihama roll!!! The spicy tuna wasn't spicy and the amberjack tasted VERY fishy. The wine tasted bad. Not at all what I expected as I have eaten here before and liked it very much.
The waiter was stressed, it looked like he was the only one around-- when I told him about the fish bones-- he merely shrugged and said he could do nothing. Service was slow.
Instead of a nice quiet, calm restaurant- be aware this restaurant is in a food court near a multi screen cinemas.
There are much better places in San Francisco SOMA area to have dinner-- go somewhere else and skip this place
We go to Sanraku most times when we are attending a play or movie downtown. The service is excellent, the people friendly and the food is fantastic.
Super Preis Leistung und besonders aufmerksamer Service! Top! Immer wieder gerne!
Delicious good and great service. Love the tofu dish they make that has a sweet coating on the tofu and a creamy center. Delicious. And the salmon is always delicious. But I miss the bento box specials they used to have during the week. The ones on the menu don’t have good options.
Service was slow but sushi was great. A bit hard to find if you haven’t been there before
The salmon here was hands down delicious. Everything else... not so much. It's inside a "mall" and thought that if it were on OpenTable it must be good! I gave it a 3 out of 5... the 3 was for service and the salmon. Nothing else.
Our server was very attentive throughout our dinner. We had poke bowl and omakase plate, which were both excellent. As this place is attached to the movie theater, we couldn't enjoy calm atmosphere we typically expect from a sushi restaurant.
Superb, fresh fish--enjoyable, delicious, and quick.
Love going there and look forward to going back.
We like to eat at Sanraku before catching a movie at the Metreon. Very friendly staff, excellent rolls, great combination dinners. Fast service, we are never late to the movies.
The food and the service was excellent. It wasn’t obvious from the reviews or the website that it was in the basement of Target. The wine was expensive for what it was. If the wine had been better quality or cheaper, then I would’ve marked it higher
Consistently great experience. Fresh food. Efficient, kind and accommodating staff who team well. My go to place when I am in the area. Great for sharing, or selecting your personal favorites. Highly recommend as always.
Very bad sushi rolls! Dealing with stomach issues, hope I dont get food posioning.
nobody in charge who takes care of servers
poor working system
food is okay. if you don’t mind poor service, i recommend.
Omakase sushi menu—10 pieces better than average nigiri (usually includes 2 additional complimentary special add-ins) for a very reasonable $55.00. Regular menu is a standard, but very well presented, Japanese restaurant menu (tempura, teriyaki, sushi, noodles). Good variety. Convenient for a quick meal before a movie at the Metreon. Short walk to the convention center, Golden Gate Theater, or Union Square. 20 minute walk or couple minutes BART ride to the Embarcadero in one direction, or Civic Center (Orpheum Theater, Symphony, Opera, Ballet).
Basically in a mall surrounded by fast food places not as advertised
Food is average at best.
Service is straight forward but not very friendly.
Prices are outrageous given the food is just okay.
A bottle of sake for over 100 bucks which you can buy for 20 at the grocery store...
5 bucks for a normal piece of sushi is just laughable.
The rolls were poorly rolled and fell apart. Low quality. The sashimi was good, but tiny portion for the cost. The fish (we purchased the chefs best selection Omakase) was high quality, but for the price we could have ordered the same dish a PAbu and gotten twice the fish. Our server had way too many tables and barely checked on us. Our drinks were served with barely any ice. Meh, won’t go back.
Loved our server and the rolls were awesome!!!
Food was great and the service was outstanding.
Sanraku is my favorite spot for lunch near my workplace. Love the sushi rolls; and their bento box offers choices of mains and sides. Service is always friendly and efficient. Tends to be extremely busy when there’s a huge convention at Moscone and service will slow a bit.
Completely underwhelmed by this little lunch spot next to the food court. I specifically asked the waiter whether the“spicy salmon” was chopped and mixed with the sauce (as opposed to a single piece that had spicy sauce on top) and he said, no. Much to my surprise, it came out with salmon “mush” on top of the roll. Not cool. This is such a cheap way to serve sushi.
Friendly service. The food was very good and a great value for the money
I was there with 7 other coworkers during a convention. The staff was very friendly and seated us quickly since we had a reservation. They brought our order fairly rapidly. The sushi was perfect; both the Omakase and the Deluxe platter we had. The saki recommended by the staff was perfect. I will return here for more meals when I am in San Francisco again.
The service left something to be desired. It seemed that they were understaffed
Cute cozy restaurant to catch inside Metreon before our movie.
Service is usually good, but this time it was quite slow (and there weren’t too many customers). I’ll give them another chance though.
Very good food. Ambiance leaves a bit to be desired. It’s a bit removed (a few stairs up) from inside a food court. The service was excellent and the food very well prepared.
With half of the restaurant open to the food hall below, it felt like I was eating beside a swimming pool.
Food was pretty good, service was patchy.
This is the kind of place you go, when you're hungry after work - not really a good spot for a nice evening out with friends.
