This restaurant is super consistent in its high quality. I've been going here for many years. It's the place I got to meet a dear close friend to catch up. Dining at the sushi bar or at the table is the same great experiuence. The staff is friendly and attentive. They import some of their desserts from Japan and that's a great treat.
Very fresh amazing sushi
Celebrated my mother’s 72nd birthday. She is a tough critic, especially when it comes to Japanese food. Seiya won her over from the first bite! Coming back for sure!
Great Sushi! Have been going there for 9 years and it has yet to let me down.
Authentic Japanese food and great. Some of the daily special sushi are something that you cannot get anywhere else such as flying fish. Service is great as well. Will be back again
Omakase fish was fresh. I wish the sushi rice had been warmer and more sushi rice vinegar. Fish taco was unique. Mad dog roll was nice and crunchy but lacking in flavor.
Amazingly fresh fish, creative and flavorful options, the best!
The food was excellent. Three of us started with the Agedashi Tofu which was full of flavor. Between the three of us we had a salmon salad, salmon iron pot, and the shrimp risotto. Everything was unique and delicious. Our only criticism is the lighting. We were there for lunch and the restaurant was very dark with bright sunshine coming through the front. It was a bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless we certainly will return.
Too expensive for unusual dishes. Strange facility...a long, narrow, dark room. Doubt if I'd go back.
Favorite sushi spot on the peninsula. Always has the freshest fish available!
Nice atmosphere. The service was prompt and attentive on a Saturday night. Food portions were generous and fish was very fresh and delicious. Unlike many sushi places in the area, this one makes me want to come back.
Sushi and sashimi were excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I would highly recommend the omakase as the chef always prepares the best fish available!
Unusual and fresh Japanese food - you can go for straight chefs choice sushi or sushi or sashimi or special rolls. Or you can try several unique specials - there is something for everyone! The flip side is that it takes a while to understand the menu so give yourself some time. Service is always pleasant fast and professional. It’s more expensive than some, but I’d rather go here less often than to any of the mediocre local sushi places we seem to have nearby (so sorry but unfortunately true). I vote for fresh and delicious every time.
Very nice sashimi and rolls.
We love Seiya - awesome food, great environment, exceptional service.
I have wanted to try the restaurant for a long time. I had ordered the seafood sashimi salad. The salad dressing did not have much taste to it. I believed it was a vinaigrette dressing. My entree was seafood risotto. I like the seafood risotto from the Italian restaurants and I was surprised the risotto is in their menu. The seafood risotto was a bit rich, too much cheese and butter. I would not recommend it.
The food and quality here is wonderful! I’ve been here many times and have consistently had an excellent meal and service! My absolute favorite is the Fish Taco! Sounds funny in a Japanese restaurant, but it’s so good! We also love the Great Balls of Fire dish! So much flavor! The rolls we had were excellent and all full of flavor! Usually my husband will dunk his food in soy sauce and wasabi...but he didn’t do that here! Great flavor in each roll we had!
This was our first time and we were very impressed. Japanese cuisine is my husbands favorite and he was blown away. We even had an opportunity to try things we had never had before.
Outstanding food and attentive, personal service. We have eaten here several times and Seiya is consistently excellent!
I usually reframe myself from making a negative comment knowing it's hard to run a small business, however, the hostess and server at Seiya totally ruined an otherwise wonderful dining experience that the chefs worked so hard to achieve. The truth is that the food was delicious but the hostess was rude and the waitress was pushy. My reserved table was not set up when I arrive. Yes, I was late but I called earlier to informed the restaurant. The blond hostess scolded me for being late when I arrived. Note Seiya required a credit to reserve table of 3 and I have confirmed with restaurant twice via phone call that I was on my way. Lastly, instead of making sure that our orders arrive, the waitress kept asking if we wish to order more items. We had to wait for 20 minutes for the missing two orders.
Great selection and quality of seafood. And service was excellent. Highly recommedend.
Not the best sushi I've had but it was fine. Service was meh. The hostess was also the waitress?
Average food overall. Ambience is nice & chic.
Some of the most delicious sushi +nigiri ever. Interesting menu with many choices, even for people who "don't like fish that much". AMAZING hamachi carpaccio.
The food is very good and nicely prepare, some rolls are to large and not easy to handle. Space is very tight but cool atmosphere.
Good wine and prices are adequate.
We tried many different rolls and all are excellent. Certainly a place to come back
The food here is VERY creative, well presented and delicious. Wide variety of seafood and we tried a lot of it. All of it was fresh. Zesty Sake dish was refreshing. The Tori Kare Agi was a much larger than expected serving of delicately fried chicken. The seafood risotto was filled with fresh fish, but rich with cheese. The fish tacos were uniques and delightful. All in all food was great. Service was very nice, attentive waitress and bussing staff was prompt to clear dishes without rushing us. Dishes were spaced out perfectly. The restaurant is small, but comfortable and not too loud for easy conversation. We were at a high top with three people on the main walkway but had plenty of space. The restaurant is a bit dark, but the decor is nice. Would definitely go back and want to try lunch for the crispy rice dishes.
My husband and I have consistently excellent experiences at Seiya. There’s always an interesting seasonal Nigiri, the sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the staff is consistently kind and on top of things.
I would have given 3.5 stars if possible. There were no major issues. The restaurant was not too bad but not too exciting. We were sitting at the end of the sushi bar. Not terrible but not great. Prices were high. That was not unexpected but generally not a great value, except for the sashimi salad. Service was friendly but not exceptional. I was at this restaurant when it was first converted to a Japanese restaurant and the original duo was great and the food was great. I was hoping to find the same quality level but did not get it.
Delicious food, great sake menu. Agedashi tofu was amazing. Uni could have been fresher. Sashimi selection pieces were large and fresh.
Really good, beautiful sushi. Loved the fish tacos.
Chef Hiroshi is consistent with his amazing nigiri. The high quality of the fish and presentation never fails. It’s pricey but worth every cent. The cheesecake is delicious too!
Outstanding sushi restaurant with superior quality sushi. Very eclectic menu and oh so good! You can’t go wrong ordering any item on their menu! Highly recommend making a reservation. We foolishly tried walking in 4 times as soon as the restaurant opened to no avail. The cool decor restaurant only has a very limited seating availability.
Great service. Very friendly. Quality of the fish for our omakase was just ok at best. Hamachi Kama and sesame ice cream was very good. Sashimi salad was good too. Nigiris just ok.
Amazing food. All of it was very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend Seiya
the food was great and service was Excellent. Also very clean.
Mikki and the staff at Seiya were incredible. She made the best suggestions and the food was divine.
Great service. Food was good.
