Excellent as always! So sad though the ambiance is not what it usually is because of the Pandemic. Great food and service!
Excellent incredibly fresh seafood!
The server was good but not very informed. We asked questions because it was our first time at Shaw’s. We ordered Brussel sprouts with our dinner that came out after we had dinner and to top it off they were extremely crispy! You could literally crumple them up. We got another order that was just ok. Would’ve been nice to have it taken off the bill. Other than that, I would visit again. No time soon though.
Went for anniversary dinner. Food was excellent, price was great for what you got. Good cocktails. Corey was a good waiter juggling lots of tables
Always consistent with great service! One of our fav places to go
Famous Chicago institution, but the small fresh salmon portion was undercooked and creamed spinach side average. Add bottle of beer and total just over $100 for one.
The food and service was awesome! I enjoyed everything for my birthday!!
Our dinner and dining experience were exceptional. Nice to get out, feel safe, enjoy each other’s company and the whole experience. A wonderful night out.
Incredible from start to finish. Great server who helped us make choices on what to order, wasn’t pushy, didn’t rush us. The food was amazing - especially the lobster bisque. YUM
My friend and I walked out. We made a reservation thru Open Table. We asked for outdoor seating which they refused. There were empty tables too.
I said don’t seat us in a dark dank area of the place. He took us to the back of the restaurant and to a place with no people. The room was empty. We were astonished with the treatment. So we walked out.
We have enjoyed Shaws in Schaumburg and wanted to enjoy the one in Chicago. We are never going back. We felt like we were dismissed and poorly treated.
I have been an Open Table member for over 10’years. I have never been so poorly treated anywhere.
My friend and I do not recommend this restaurant.
The service was great, as was the food, but ruined by a rude, insensitive host, too preoccupied to spend a moment addressing our concerns. He was the very tall, very very thin one, who offered us a table for two that was nearly impossible to reach comfortably, having to squeeze between a post and the edge of a table pushed as far against a fence as it would go, then twist awkwardly to sit in the chair. I'm in my seventies, and it was difficult for me. And my friend was far too heavy to even attempt it. I requested the four top beside it ... but no, he said, that was only for parties of four. And then within five minutes he seated a couple there! TWO PEOPLE!!
An otherwise lovely occasion was turned into one I will never forget! Joe's Stone Crab next time!
Shaw’s new patio seating on a beautiful summer night, with excellent service and good food, was just perfect for our anniversary. Pricey but worth it.
Bestest! Sushi roll for appetizer. Get order 1 lb santa barbera stone crab claws and side cole slaw. Yum
outstanding, great social distancing, great service, impecceable quality of seafood. The VONGS THAI menu is fabulous. I am so happy it's back, I missed it terribly!!!!
Everything was great. Chose to eat outside, but got the table closest to Wabash, got a lot of noise from the inhabitants that lived under Wabash but what can you expect downtown, other than that and the crazy amount of spiders that came out when the sun went down everything was perfect as usual!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday at this establishment on Saturday. I am so glad we did. Everything was perfect and romantic. Thank you for helping making his day special with delicious food.
Excellent as usual. We sat in the outdoor area, very good, all things considered.
The food made me so sick. As soon as we left my stock started to hurt and spent 1.5h hours when I got home in the bathroom. We were one of 2 tables, so I wonder if some of the food has gone bad.
Since we sat outside there was noise just from the street and passerby’s- however loved how alive and busy the area was. Fish as well as oysters were usual high quality and delicious. Service was attentive and seamless. Favorite spot for special occasions.
Shaw’s never disappoints when we visit Chicago-simply delicious food, great service and comfy atmosphere, one of our favorite places to eat
Our waiter was great
Shaw’s is always amazing and the food consistently fresh! The grilled calamari was slightly charred but overall everything was delicious. My only disappointment is COVID has changed their brunch service and that was the beauty of coming here.
The food was amazing I will definitely go back.
Shaw's - One of our favorite restaurants. food, & beverage always consistent, as is the service.
When dealing with limited seating and Covid-19 Shaw’s did an excellent job. Outdoor seating was comfortable and wait staff efficient. Food outstanding as always. Hopefully we can get back to enjoy the bar inside soon!
Say outside - great service. Started with complimentary crackers and rolls.- yum! We got oysters (6 kinds), the seafood platter and it was all delish!! The manager accidentally dropped soy sauce by me and got all over my top, but he felt horrible grabbed club soda and a tide pen and was very sweet. Thankfully it all came out! Great experience overall
Awesome love music and sensational food. Ambience was exquisite
I went for my birthday. I’ve been wanting to go for years , my husband suggested that we go. I LOVED IT!! The food was fresh and delicious, the service was was amazing. We will definitely be back
Horrible Service, our waiter should not work in customer service at all. He shared plenty of time and attention to another table but absolutely none to use. Is was obvious that he didn’t want to service us and favorites his other table, he only had 2 tables.
Brunch was Good.. not the Best.. French Toast Bread pudding was great.. bacon, great.. but Crab was Salty sides were just ok.. but great value for 55$ brunch..
Absolutely blown away.
Impeccable service. Outstanding food. We weren't sure what to expect but this was an amazing experience. We got so much food for the money as well, totally worth every penny.
I can't stress how great the service is.
There should be more options for the brunch. There were 3 people in my party and they gave 1 shrimp pp. 2 crab legs pp, 2 pieces of bacon pp. I am a regular visitor and I'm very familiar with the brunch. This visit was unacceptable
Dining experience was excellent in every aspect. A great time.
Need wait staff
More attentive to customers needs. Price could be
Reviewed higher than competition.
Music ! Live
We went to Shaw's to celebrate a 90th birthday; it's one of my family's favorite restaurants. But I think the service and food were just a notch below Shaw's usually high standards. Food examples were: the king crab legs were good--but not as good as those I had at RPM Seafood (another LEYE restaurant) 10 days before. And the crab cakes were not as good as those served at Carson's on Illinois Street (not as much lump crab meat), which my wife had earlier in the week. Carson's (not just a rib joint, but still...) should NEVER serve a better crab cake than Shaw's! Finally, the fruit cobbler dessert would have benefited from fewer berries and more peaches.
