Shiok Singapore Kitchen
Good Shaking beef but the rest were just ok.
Delicious, homenade food. Very friendly service. Will be going here again for sure
Shiok provides fantastic food at a very reasonable price. The menu offers a wide range of flavor packed options -- vegan and meat based. The service is friendly but not brilliant.
Great food. SG chicken rice and chili crab are a must try.
Food is terrible and service was cold. Don’t understand the good reviews.
Service was extremely slow. Parties that were seated after us were served before us. Took 40 min until we got the first dish we ordered. The food was a lot lighter / bland than expected. Dinner was unfortunately a bad experience, but I've had better lunch in the past here.
Portion size is way too small for the price
Charming little restaurant in an obscure corner of town. Wonderful food, subtler than I expected.
Delicious food and great service. The owner is super nice. My kids love their Roti!
Great food and service! One of my favorite places in the Bay ❤️
Understaffed but the one waiter tried very hard. She needed help. Food was very authentic.
Nice food good service. A hidden gem for us. The servers actually pay attention to what you are saying, which is refreshing
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the bay area. The food is very tasty and interesting, service is perfect and ambiance is particularly inviting. I highly recommend!
Food lacked flavor. Small portions. Not very knowledgeable about the alcohol they serve.
Service was terrible despite the restaurant being full. The food has been very good in the past and don’t know what happened. The lamb chops were dry and over cooked, the beef and peppers were served cold and the dish tasted like it was reheated and not fresh, the chicken satay was also dry and over cooked. Very disappointed!! Will not come back anytime soon.
Great ambiance, service and tasty food! Perfect for an anniversary in a comfortable and casual setting.
Bland food, despite all the ingredients and the potential of Singaporean delights. Terrible value for money, $60 for 2, no alcohol. Overpriced and overrated.
Shiok is always a nice choice. Roti Prata is amazing and all other food is fresh and tasty. It’s a small, friendly neighborhood establishment.
Milk tea is amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious!
Love the chicken rice and roti prata!
Our favorite place for Singaporean/Malaysian food in the Peninsula. It's slightly pricey but you pay for the really attentive service and great ambience. Food is great, the only thing lacking is, if you're from the region, you'd probably find they don't put enough sambal by default. I must remember to ask for extra chili!
Excellent vegetarian options. Sampled 6 dishes, each quit different and all quite tasty. Large portions
We always enjoy Shiok's excellent food - crispy tofu, salad options, seafood, and the cozy atmosphere and excellent service
Loved the Chili Crab, tofu salad and pepper prawns. The food was delicious just like in Singapore and the family that runs the restaurant are friendly and knowledgeable about Singapore culture and food! We will definitely be back!
The food was AMAZING!!
Unassuming restaurant with good value tasting menu in addition to a la carte.
We came with another couple and shared two of the price fixed menus. The service was excellent--we were going to a concert after dinner and they accommodated our tight schedule without making us feel rushed. The food was terrific---lots of different flavors and textures, all well prepared and very tasty. There was a lot to eat at a very modest price. We definitely will return.
Excellent and delicious range of Southeast Asian favorites. Don't miss out on the tasting menu options, which include many of the crowd favorites from the menu at an unbeatable value.
Great food this time! Hor fun, hokkien mee and char kway teow are good! Authentic enough!
Delicious food and friendly prompt service. We had a range of ages and tastes and everyone was pleased!
Delicious. I have been there four times and enjoyed different items each time. So far I have not been disappointed. It is quickly becoming a favorite place for me.
We went there for a special occasion and the service was horrible. It took over an hour to get our main dishes, one never showed up at all. No one came by to fill up our water, or inform us why our food was not out on a timely manner. I was so disappointed that we will never be back and we were a large group with many couples that said the same thing. Too bad because the food is good.
Great food and service. On a Friday night, it was quiet enough that we could hear everyone at our table and enjoy conversation despite several other tables being filled!
Everything we ordered was outstanding, and for that reason, we'd love to return!
Great and authentic
Singaporean here. The entire basis of my recommendation is on the Hokkien Mee alone. 5 years in the Bay and this is the first time I have found authentic "Singapore-styled" Hokkien Mee - A mix of vermicelli and yellow noodles stir-fried in a thick savory seafood stock (reduction of seafood, pork belly & prawn shells I believe).
Other places serve Roti, Nasi Lemak (Coconut Rice) and Chicken Rice aplenty, but if you are craving for a different side of authenticity - This is it. 5 STARS. I have already made plans to return, and foresee many more visits to come (with friends in tow) to give them a taste of this Hokkien Mee.
Other dishes we tried:
Ngoh Hiang (Pork wrapped in beancurd skin fried)
I forget the name on the menu since they gave it another. Pretty authentic too, though the meat needs to be packed tighter for a more spongy bite. It also lacks the crunch (chestnuts etc.)that the best places in Singapore serve it with.
Another one for authenticity. We have tried this dish in many places, this is the best one yet. Again, authentic, but not fantastic. Sambal is sweet but lacks the aroma of real sambal from South East Asia, bringing it down a notch. Still, a must order every time I go back.
BBQ Prawns in sambal
Read above for sambal comment. They got the flavors down, but without the "Wok-Hei" and Aroma of real Sambal Belachan (google), this is the highest it can go. I'll try the squid or fish next time, this can go either way.
Nothing wrong with it, just the usual low standards of Chicken Rice in the Bay
P.S: This place is expensive for Singapore food ($7 for iced coffee?). But the 5-star item (Hokkien Mee) is very reasonably priced at $12. Do yourself a favor, go in for the noodles and ngoh hiang. Everything else is up to your preference.
The food was awesome, well prepared.
The food here is delicious has been consistently good for the 4-5 times I have been here with my wife.
Excellent and authentic Singaporean food. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.
The food had a stink to it and was not flavorful. We spent our Saturday night with an expectation to enjoy Singaporean cuisine but were highly disappointed. The food seemed stale and we were more than happy to leave our leftovers behind.
