There was no host when we arrived - waiting 5 minutes until he came and was really rude. We called ahead and asked to sit in the atrium and were told over the phone that’s where we were to be seated. The host seated us at another table and when I asked him to sit in the atrium he seemed annoyed and took his time setting it up.

Food is delicious - cute spot. Braised beef is probably one of my favourite dishes ever.

It was great. The food was really good and the drinks were really good . Can’t wait to see how it’s like without the whole pandemic vibe.

The black cod was too salty and pricey.

The beef stew was OK.

For the only dessert that side door is serving it was a let down.

Great ambiance and food was excellent Covid restrictions in place and it was well spaced out.

Our service was amazing! It was such a romantic night away with my wife. Very covid friendly and all guidelines were in place but didn't take away any of the beautiful ambience. We will definitely be returning to The SideDoor restaurant in Ottawa's by ward market.

Food was fresh and tasteful, the server was great. Only downside we were two and we did not receive our food at the same time. A good 5-10 min difference.

The interior of this restaurant was cozy and stunning. My husband and I ordered the shrimp curry, which we both agreed was the best curry we had ever had. Highly recommended this dish. It was big enough for 2 people to share if you order a bowl of rice for each of you.

The kitchen was open to one side of the restaurant where we were sitting and we were able to see the chefs cooking. My only complaint is that out of the 4 chefs working only 1 had their mask on properly. The other 3 had it pulled down under their chin, which concerned me as they were talking close to where food was being prepared (we visited end of Nov 2020). The restaurant was outstanding but I do hope they take this feedback into consideration

The beef panang was unbelievably delicious. Can’t even go wrong with the tacos. Tuna sashimi was divine. Always a treat to dine here.

seafood platter was a bit underwhelming... shrimp, salmon and tuna were ok but lobster obviously frozen and small portion. oysters or scallops would be a nice addition

This reservation was made prior to the government shutdown of indoor dining. However, outdoor dining was still permitted. At the day and time of the reservation outdoor dining was still possible and enjoyable. We arrived at the restaurant at noon, the time of the reservation. There was nobody there and no notice as to whether someone might arrive shortly to serve on the patio. We waited for approximately 15 minutes and nobody showed up and I received no email or text message to inform me. We left and had a very enjoyable terrace lunch at another restaurant. While I understand the difficulties restaurants might have with the changing government regulations, I don't think it would have been asking too much to post a notice, to send a text or email, etc., to inform potential dinners: a totally unacceptable disregard for customers, and I might add fairly regular customers. I doubt I will return in the near future, irrespective of government regulations.

Pricy, but worth every penny. Best meal we've had in Ottawa. We'll be back, it was simply outstanding.

I when there whit my friend for my birthday we sitting down there like for 15 minute whit out server so we was mad and we leave the restaurant we go to a other restaurant they serve us quickly and everything was okay

The Sidedoor is my favorite restaurant on the Market. The menu is unique and the food delicious! ... the gourmet tacos are the best.

The food we ordered was very good and it was fresh. The donut were still hot and they melted in our mouth. The ambiance is super classy and chill. Great time

Food was fresh and tasty; lots of space for diners, great ambience in the solarium and service was thorough without being obsequious. Definitely a repeat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Side Door. The only negative was with the speed of service. we both ordered cocktails with the expectation that food would not arrive until we had finished. All of our dishes arrived shortly after our cocktail and in fact we had everything on the table within half an hour of our arrival. We will return but people should be aware to only order one dish at a time, and not start ordering until they are ready to start eating

I've ordered the lobster thinking I'll get a whole one finding out it's a lobster soup. It was really tatsty but not enough lobster in it. Cocktails are awesome!!

Superbe endroit je dirais même un trésor caché! Intérieur joliment décoré et la terrasse très mignonne . J’ai pris le beef wrap letuce très bon , même décadent. Le fish tacos également très bien assaisonné et les dumplings savoureux! Mon coup de cœur à Ottawa

The tacos here are amazing! I appreciate the vegan options.. including chorizo tacos! They even added a candle to our donuts to make my partner’s birthday special :)
