Nice people and reasonable prices in the heart of Napa Valley
We made a reservation but ended up having extra time after our last winery appointment so we called the restaurant and they were able to get us in an hour earlier than our reservation for our group of 6. We were pleasantly surprised by the no corkage fee on the first bottle of local wine. The food was delicious! The fried pickles were lightly and perfectly battered, the meat ravioli was a hearty portion and delicious, and the chicken Parmesan special came with zucchini and it was amazing. We will definitely be coming back to dine here again!
We had a group of 10 and they were very accommodating as far as putting a table together for us all on a Saturday night. The menu is quite diverse and we had a variety of choices off of it, and we were all very happy with our choices. I had the eggplant which was yummy, and my husband had the homemade raviolis while others had Mexican dishes and two even had burgers. The burgers looked so good that my husband and I returned the next day on the way out of town for a late lunch and enjoyed two for ourselves. They were delicious.
I would definitely recommend this Bistro and will return again when in the area.
Small local Bistro with focus on fresh food. My wife I loved the fresh guacamole the best she has ever had. Service was great considering it was Valentine's Day.
Very nice - good food and reasonably priced!
We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and the prices were reasonable. I loved the eggplant. We will be back soon💙
Awful place! It had such good reviews my husband and I were so upset with the food and service. The food was not good and it was pricy. The services was terrible.
I do not recommend this place.
The Eggplant Parmesan is outstanding. Service was great at this friendly place and you can talk! It's not too loud.
Really good basic fare and nice variety on the menu. The service was great and the owner was very welcoming. Great spot for a bite to eat.
There were 4 of us eating together and everyone was more than happy with their meals. Two had the lasagna special, one the chicken piccata and one the shrimp linguine. The servings are hearty and each couple split a salad and the split was the size of a full order. The prices are very reasonable for the Napa Valley and the wait staff was friendly with a personal touch. Our second visit and we will be back for sure.
Excellent service, delightful, delicious casual Italian dishes.
Love the new sandwich BLAT, BLT. with Avocado
Went for a nice casual meal. I got the burger and it was excellent. Service was also very good.
Consistently outstanding quality food - excellent menu with wide selection. Price point affordable - especially for Napa Valley - for the quality of food. Service is solid and good - sometime a slight wait especially on busy weekends, but worth it.
Sitting outside is also a welcome addition since may restaurants in the Valley do not have outside sitting.
Great little GEM in St. Helena with fabulous food always.
I think in most other towns this restaurant would have garnered a better rating overall, but to me it is just missing the Napa Valley charm that so many other restaurants have. The red wine we ordered was room temperature and not chilled, the tomato bruschetta was mediocre. The gnocchi we had was good, but not great. It feels a bit like a strip center restaurant on the inside and really lacks any character or charm. The staff was very friendly and warm, and in my opinion was the best thing about this place.
In my opinion there’s too many great restaurants in the area to go back to this one on a future trip.
Really nice people and very good food. My only hesitation in rating “excellent” is that the server told me there were no olives in the cacciatore and there were! He apologized and luckily I’m not allergic to them.
We were only planning on having dessert, but as we walked in we saw so many delicious-looking plates swirling around us that we opted to order a main entree for tasting purposes. Israel was very helpful and provided us outstanding service. He made it easy for us to decide on their famous fish and chips. This plate did not disappoint and was served with perfectly crispy fries. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake and churros with gelato. Both were delicious. In conclusion, we decided we would definitely go back for more on empty stomachs because we want to taste so many more of their menu items.
Bistro St. Helena is an amazing understated restaurant in the town of St. Helena. We live in Napa Valley and dine at the many restaurants that we are lucky to have. And I must say that Napa Valley Bistro standouts as one of the best! The food and the service is outstanding and one of the best values around. One of our new favorites!
Spent ~$170 for 4 people, no alcohol. Awesome ribs and chocolate cake. Rib eye also good. Bolognese was average. Wish their outdoor chairs weren't so hard. Friendly attentive staff and one of the few Napa places priced moderately. You are next to the road but it's not too bad.
Wonderful...we love going there....plan to again and again
The food was divine....especially the grilled artichoke. Our waiter was very pleasant and kind.
nice little place. well prepared food. limited menu.
My wife and I recently visited Napa Valley and dined at the St. Helena Bistro for a few small plates. We ordered the grilled artichokes and the short rib special. The food was delicious, the Staff was attentive, the ambience was classy, and the noise level allowed for quiet conversation. We plan to return to the St. Helena Bistro during out next trip to Napa Valley.
Very good food for a reasonable price!
We love this little gem of a spot in St. Helena. The food is always fresh and delicious. My fav is the Chicken piccata. Other family members love the taco salad, chicken sandwich, ribeye.... well just about everything is good. The price point Is very reasonable, especially for the Napa Valley. The service is always friendly and prompt. Check this place out if you haven’t yet, and if you have ...go again!
Wonderful meal, and a great place
Cenamos en la terraza. Servicio cordial y atento. Todo muy agradablr
It was our last night out in town before moving away. We are going to miss these guys! They are the best!
We have been there a couple of times prior to this visit and to be honest the food was not as exciting as previously. Unfortunately, we had raved to our friends that we were with and we were somewhat disappointed to have brought them. The service, as usual, was wonderful, as are the prices. Not sure on our next visit we will be back.
Nice spot for a casual lunch in the wine country. The place was empty but filled during our lunch which affected the service. Waited half an hour just for some bread but the food was very good and well presented. Great value for St Helena.
Very long wait time for food.
Had a very interesting menu. We had a great watermelon/greens salad followed by empanadas, which were okay. My husband had a fish dish which he really enjoyed. Both waiters were very friendly and attentive. It was a beautiful night and we ate outside and even though it was on the street was quite nice. We would definitely go back again. Keep in mind their alcohol menu only has wine, beer and Margaritas.
This is a great find and value in downtown St. Helena. There were four in our party, and we all were very pleased with the service and with what we ordered. A beautiful early dinner after an afternoon of wine-tasting. We highly recommend St. Helena Bistro.
Best watermelon feta & shrimp salad EVER!
The eggplant parmigiana was great!
Very fast service. A small venue, but worth the trip.
Absolutely awesome! Ate here two years ago travelling thru St. Helena,. Had to come back. Thanks for a great evening.
Bistro is one of our favorite "go to" restaurants in St. Helena. We can always count on excellent service, delicious food and a lively atmosphere. Although it can be noisy when full, it is still worth it. It has good value - try the Shrimp Risotto when it is on the Menu and the Tiramisu is to die for.
A wonderful find for us! Everyone in our group loved their food. We had the best server as well. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out.
