Texas de Brazil - Fairfax
Overall we left feeling disappointed. The main reason to dine at Texas de Brazil is the MEAT! First ,they were few and far between bringing meat to the table. Second, some of the meat and especially the lamb was over cooked. Third, they would come to one end of the table and not serve the entire table. We had to make a point and tell them to serve the other end of the table. Yes we were all on the green. My son was still hungry when we left the restaurant. The salad bar was good as always. We have come here serval times and have notice a decline in service. That was most likely our last time going to that location if not Texas De Brazil entirely.
The server was okay and the food was good. The servers who carved the meat were very nice and punctual when we had our cards turned over.
What happened to this place? For $48/pp I think seeing flies on the salad bar or on the food at your table as unacceptable. We felt swindled by the upsell of the $10 quality “featured” red wine blend for $80 and the pitcher of specially flavored limeade for $30. The meat choice on a weekend night was really just bacon wrapped filet over and over again. If you say no too many times they demand to know what you are waiting for, and send everything to your table at once. It felt like a coordinated effort to push us out. They ask your temperature preference, ex. Medium well, but send everything to your table anyways. They ignore the red “stop” chips and bring food anyways. What’s the point. No manager visit to ask how we were doing. I basically paid someone $45 in tip to refill my water glass for an hour, and to watch the servers stand around while I tried to keep the gnats off my plate. My daughters birthday treat was a melted bowl of vanilla ice cream with a candle in it. This used to be my favorite steakhouse, but’s totally gone down hill.
Overall a great experience, was only let down in that the waiter didn’t ask about refilling the alcoholic drinks until desert.
Thoroughly surprised my dad, as a first timer, and exceeded his expectations. Lovely dinner.
Music was too loud, couldn’t hear dining partner speak.
Halfway through the meal we got water & our drinks.
The wait staff & hostess spoke English with a thick accent, and loudness of music made them harder to understand. Hot bar/buffet was not hot. Meat was all over done. Requested medium rare to medium and all was well done.
My recollection from past visits is that the food was better in the past.
Definitely go with an empty belly
Texas de Brazil serves the most authentic Brazilian rodizio (meat brought to your table on sewers) that I've found in the U.S. They also have the best salad bar of the several places I've tried. On this occasion, in addition to the usual delicious sirloin and other beer cuts, the restaurant offered a new, very tender filet cut of lamb. The service was fast and attentive as always.
Another excellent and relaxing early Saturday night dinner at T de B!
We scored a table in the quiet back room and enjoyed STELLAR service from Fabricio and His Knife-wielding Gauchos - many of whom recognized us as regulars. The new Porkie Chops were a bit heavy on the cumin, but should be kept on the menu. The picanha, lamb-chops, and flank steak were carved as ordered: Lower Salt and Medium. Amarula and Licor 23 to finish, and we were Happy Campers.
Good experience overall. Will be back
Both myself and my friend enjoyed everything and the service was wonderful
our waiter was not very nice and sometimes and was like bored.
Best lamb chops ever! The house sirloin and the flank steak were very well prepared and tasty. Love the salad bar too. My favorite restaurant by far.
Everything was good overall. However, our waiter’s approach as we signed the check was extremely aggressive for a tip. Big turn-off.
The waitress seemed to rush us and was very annoyed with our questions. The meat was fatty and dry. The salad bar and men serving the meat were the best part. We thought dessert was included in the expensive meal but it was an extra $40 just for desserts. It was a special event for our family of four that was just blah. We will not be going back.
Not a good experience ! Won't recommend to my friends.
We had dinner on Wednesday at Texas de Brazil and the food and service was great as it always is. We have eaten at several of your restaurant s in the US and have never been disappointed. We will be back again.
Rather pricey but is delicious. Our waiter Brian S. was fantastic.
Awesome food, awesome staff. Was a Christmas gift for our twin daughters. They throughly enjoyed it. They are looking forward to next time we take them. Morgan was our waitress and did an excellent job. The staff that brought the food around were extremely friendly. Thanks for a great evening
Not great. Not worth the price.
Everything was perfect as usual. Salad bar and the meats were yummy!!
Poor service plates were never pick up
Good food, the meats and giant salad bar were very good. The meat carvers were not consistent at the tables. And some meat choices were never offered. Was expecting some better for the price but over all we were satisfied.
Just very disappointing and I have been here many times.
Service was decent. Seems the lights were higher than I remember, taking the romantic atmosphere away. We knew the price was high but after venturing into other restaurants, there are better values out there, but this experience is not about value. It is still a special place to eat and experience.
Great wine recommendation and lovely food. We had a great evening.
Family dinner to celebrate birthdays.
The food and ambiance was excellent. My family really enjoyed this restaurant. It was our first time here.
Service and abundance of meat servings are the hallmarks of Texas de Brazil. For $50 (less beverages and dessert) at the Fair Oaks location, the price is a bit high unless you come with a large appetite. The salad bar only is $29 and has a variety of items, including a few hot items such as soup, jasmine rice, and potatoes. Still, it's an expensive salad bar. We enjoyed our visit to the Fair Oaks location, with Anna being very attentive and the meat servers eager to bring whatever you wanted. However, at over $100 for two (one full service and one salad bar), we'll probably not do this often. If you do like lots of meat with your meal and you are not on a tight budget, it is worth a try.
Service was little slower.
Thank you so much. Y'all made my husband's birthday weekend amazing.
We love Friday lunches at Texas de Brazil and have been quite often. Unfortunately, this was one of the less stellar times. We had reservations which we showed up 10 minutes early for, but were still not seated until 20 min past our reservation time. The place was extremely busy, probably due to the holidays, but in general the service was poorer than usual. It took quite a longtime to get water refills, several meats never made it around to us though we could see them coming out of the kitchen, and unlike normal no one asked us if there was a cut we were looking for. It won’t deter another visit, but the lesson learned was not to go during the busy holiday season.
Food was ok, there was no specific dish that was outstanding. The service was slow and the noise level was distracting. the value of the dinner is not worth the money.
As always, Texas de Brazil delivered a well-rounded meal for our carnivorous family! We appreciated the friendly service as usual and will def be back!
Service was extremely slow... we waited for extended periods of time for any meats to arrive. We were seated next to two VERY loud parties and we were unable to carry out any conversation at our table while celebrating our son’s 20th birthday.
The food was exceptional like always. I was disappointed when I purchased two gift certificates because I thought the special was still going on with Texas de Brazil if customers purchased gift cards. Overall, the food was exceptional.
