Texas de Brazil - Fairfax
This is (was) our favorite restaurant. We consider ourselves regulars. This time around our experience was lackluster. We had reservations for 12noon and despite that, we had to wait around 15 minutes to be acknowledged because the hostess stand seemed chaotic and not organized. We were observing no communication between the five people at the hostess area--two of whom were managers. There was no logic to how they sat patrons except maybe seating the bigger parties first.
If this is how they want to seat customers then why bother with reservations?

First time, it was a good experience.
The food is always cooked to perfection. They go out of their way to make sure everything is to your satisfaction and if you have special notes in your reservation they go out of their way to make sure you enjoy every moment. May seem a bit pricey but definitely worth every single penny.
Everything was simply EXCELLENCE. Only thing might be the overall price, but it was wonderful.
We were having an early Valentine's Day dinner we had good food but the server was bad we go every year for our anniversary but this time we had bad experience. We will return again but be cautious about our server.
$50 is too much for a buffet. Need to add more other dishes to accommodate the children. Need more soup, salad varieties, bread and less wine. Services on the meat was slow and kind ignore u and kept ongoing. It was not what we expected. Ty
Everything was excellent. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our server, Carla was very patient and nice. She really made a good experience great!
Everything was great except for the fact that we got charge for a 6 year old that didn’t eat at all plate was empty whole time. Kid friendly meals should be an option. I’m sure they could come up with something.
We drive over an hour each time we come, and we have never been disappointed. Service was great, expierence was great, food is amazing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I love that they come and ask if we are waiting on any other meat to come by and if we are it is sent out to us within minutes.
I am rating my overall experience low due to the confusion with my reservation. I was planning a special 50th surprise birthday celebration for my wife. I made the reservation online and also received a second confirmation the day prior. When I arrived, the receptionist was adamant that i did not have a reservation. She refused to help me and then proceeded to place me on a one hour waiting list. Apparently, my guests arrived and got seated and somehow my reservation was removed from her list. I walked through the restaurant looking for my guests as my wife sat at the bar. They had placed my guests in the very back of the restaurant so I could not find them. I then asked one of the servers to help. Nobody seemed to have a clue and nobody helped me. Fortunately, one of my guests came out to the reception area and saw us waiting to get seated and caught my attention. This was about 30 minutes. I understand mistakes happen, but the restaurant employees did not want to assist me in any way, especially the receptionist.
The food and service were amazing! We'll definitely come back!
Meat tasty and plentiful. Adequate choices on salad bar. A bit too pricey.
Food and service was delicious. The servers thick accent was hard to discern at first, but that’s a non issue. Fantastic place and come there every time I’m in town.

Dinner was delicious. Only two complaints:
1. We were asked, prior to the meats coming out, what temperature we wanted our meat. Everyone said Medium. For the first 15 minutes, only medium rare meats came to our table.
2. There were gnats flying around while we ate and were distracting.
Our waiter was nice and friendly and the food overall tasted delicious.
Kid’s free night out with my wife. Food was good and ambience was great, the only thing I feel needs a bit more attention is to detail. Have a clear table for the next course. No dead soldiers on the table. And if I am paying almost $7 for bottled water , server should be there to refill at all times. As well as clearing dirty plates. Hope this was helpful.
The meats were just as we expected and wanted them. Salad bar stations were also exceptional.
Service was good. The table space was crowded, and the servers could not get to each person’s seat. Very loud room.
The Servers and the Staff were wonderful. Very nice and helpful at all times.
I would say the lobster bisque soup and salad bar was delicious. The sirloin and skirt steak was by far the best. The majority of the other meat was dry and not much flavor, so we kept requesting those 2 steaks.
We also feel for the price they could have something for dessert on the buffet or offer at least ice cream to the kids or something. My kids. age 8 and 11 really cannot eat that much meat and were looking for fruit or dessert, but I wasn't paying anymore for the already costly dinner.
I have had better Brazilian for sure
The waitress should right beside our table and had to raise hand up every time we needed something, a waiter took over and he was amazing
It was a great lunch and great service
First time visiting loved it will return. The lamb chops where absolutely amazing. The servers where very good at keeping you feed. I requested lamb and they made it happen over 5 times
The only thing that was a little slow was getting our check. Besides that, our server was on his game and the food was amazing as always!

Slow service, very slow service. Same 2 cuts all the time. Asked for medium and they were medium rare or rare all the time.
Used to be a good place, not so much now.
Food was fresh and delicious. Dessert was spectacular! Waiter was friendly and courteous.
Always great food, the salad bar is awesome if you aren’t a big steak eater or don’t want to spend a whole bunch of money. Lobster bisque is really good. Flank steak and filet are always perfect. Love this place, so does the family.
excellent service for my dads birthday!
I was disappointed after I realized that my receipt was incorrectly charged. Had I not looked at it I would not have known that the tip is calculated prior to any discounts are applied which I believe is incorrect practice. I had 3 kids in my party and the tip was calculates based on the check before the kids discount was applied. This resulted in more than $13 tip that I would have originally given. The food is already expensive as is. I requested the manager to refund me the difference.
Only issue was how crowded and tight it felt. Would recommend more space between tables
Our overall evening was amazing! Our server was fantastic and we enjoyed every moment.
Our waitress, Morgan, was so amazing and the gauchos were so attentive! Best Brazilian steakhouse I have been to in a long time! The meat was tender and the side area had plenty of options!
The value is low because the service is bad and the ambience feels like a cafeteria versus the high end price. The meat is a actually very good. Many varieties and very tasty with special seasonings and presentation. The overall experience was just not worth it. I guess it’s back to fogo.
Overall we left feeling disappointed. The main reason to dine at Texas de Brazil is the MEAT! First ,they were few and far between bringing meat to the table. Second, some of the meat and especially the lamb was over cooked. Third, they would come to one end of the table and not serve the entire table. We had to make a point and tell them to serve the other end of the table. Yes we were all on the green. My son was still hungry when we left the restaurant. The salad bar was good as always. We have come here serval times and have notice a decline in service. That was most likely our last time going to that location if not Texas De Brazil entirely.
The server was okay and the food was good. The servers who carved the meat were very nice and punctual when we had our cards turned over.
What happened to this place? For $48/pp I think seeing flies on the salad bar or on the food at your table as unacceptable. We felt swindled by the upsell of the $10 quality “featured” red wine blend for $80 and the pitcher of specially flavored limeade for $30. The meat choice on a weekend night was really just bacon wrapped filet over and over again. If you say no too many times they demand to know what you are waiting for, and send everything to your table at once. It felt like a coordinated effort to push us out. They ask your temperature preference, ex. Medium well, but send everything to your table anyways. They ignore the red “stop” chips and bring food anyways. What’s the point. No manager visit to ask how we were doing. I basically paid someone $45 in tip to refill my water glass for an hour, and to watch the servers stand around while I tried to keep the gnats off my plate. My daughters birthday treat was a melted bowl of vanilla ice cream with a candle in it. This used to be my favorite steakhouse, but’s totally gone down hill.
Overall a great experience, was only let down in that the waiter didn’t ask about refilling the alcoholic drinks until desert.
Not much meat comes to the back tables.
