Great evening after being away from dining out for almost 3 months. Excellent food. Grounds set up beautifully with tables spaced well apart. Dined on the porch over looking the gardens. Servers were very accommodating and took every precaution to follow all guidelines. Overall wonderful night.
The Copper Beech Inn never disappoints! The food is always phenomenal! Our server, Claudia, and a trainee she was overseeing went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. They were very friendly, fun and professional. We were celebrating my Husband's birthday and The Copper Beech is the perfect place for such occasions. It has become one of our go-to restaurants.
We had a perfectly pleasant dinner on a Thursday night. We were the only customers I think, but the food was good and service very good. Also has breakfast the next morning all fine and good service. Dining on the porch was good. I don’t think there is any point comparing a place with something from years ago- times change, places change but they can still be good even if different.
$48 sirloin very tough. Veal dish good but cold. Tab was wrong by $18. Ambiance not close to what it was years ago.
We had a great time. All was good,
Our waiter Sam was fantastic. The Foie Gras and Escargot were outstanding. This was the perfect setting for our date and we couldn’t have been more pleased!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so my steak frites won me over before picking up any cutlery. Pity it’s hangar steak but you can’t have everything. None the less a fine, simple meal aided by a glass of pretty nifty Bordeaux. Great helpful, unobtrusive but friendly and efficient service.
Excellent food all around. Service was sufficient and ambiance was great per usual. Highly recommend.
We had a really good meal starting with cocktails at the bar all the way to dessert. The fireplaces were blasting to make a cold and rainy night into a cozy occasion. Service was very attentive, but never rushed us in any way. A great place to have a great dinner.
This is or was our go to place. Service is always good. Cooks are unable to prepare medium on selected meat. Came out medium rare. It wasn’t even busy so there is no excuses for this. This is not the first time either. It is disappointing given the amount of times we been here.
food excellent, atmosphere wonderful, noise level very low
Same as always. Great food and service. Would like to see a more extensive wine list.
Best New Years Dinner out ever. We stayed at the Inn as well. Great bar , friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. Menu was fantastic, it was tough to make a selection as all sounded delicious. We were not disappointed. The Copper Beech Inn is a quintessential New England Inn with a culinary delight of a restaurant! Our stay was 5 ⭐️ in my book including our dining experience. Bonus was breakfast included. Highly recommend the Copper Beech Inn. I had lunch there this fall which impressed me and led me to make reservations for New Years Eve.
We really enjoyed our experience at the Copper Beach Inn. We have been many times having drinks and eating at the bar and always had a great time. This time we did have a drink at the bar, but then went to the dining room and had a lovely dinner. The food tasted excellent, good portions and nice presentation. Already have plans to return.
Lovely old inn. Menu was broad and the short ribs were delicious. Cocktails were also good.
Christmas Eve Dinner. Great staff, all cheerful and attentive despite working that night. Holiday decorations were beautiful. Foie gras, lobster bisque, branzino and a sticky toffee dessert all amazing.
Holiday outing to the Essex steam train
Been coming for years and usually order similar menu items. The quality and value have deteriorated recently
Food was really good and service was excellent. Asked that the scallops have no citrus (as one person at the table has an allergy) this was quickly communicated and we had a wonderful dinner.
My question, does upscale mean skimpy? For expense the service should have been more attentive
Pretty country Inn, friendly staff. Sat in bar dining area, not ideal as tables very close and conversations could be heard. Turkey was good, moist, large portion. Stuffing and roasted root vegetables, gravy very heavy and extremely salty. Fried gnocchi as appetizer very heavy and oily, not the best of choices to serve with Thanksgiving meal. Apple galette undercooked. Requested mashed potatoes which should have been served along the turkey, $6 added to an already hefty $75 per entree. Overall disappointing and probably would not return.
Our Thanksgiving dinner at the Copper Beech Inn was phenomenal. This was the first time in decades that we decided to celebrate the holiday at a restaurant and not 1 person (out of our party of 7) regretted it. The rooms in this restaurant are beautifully designed, very upscale and create the perfect setting for a special occasion. The chef certainly delivered with a thoughtful menu which honored our desire for classic Thanksgiving fare while offering options for those guests who don’t care for turkey, root vegetables and stuffing. We all agreed it was the most delicious, tender, turkey we’ve ever had and the corn and sausage stuffing was superb. The service was the best! All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They made us feel relaxed and not rushed. We almost felt as though we were enjoying our company and our meal in our own home. My husband went as far as to say, “Why have thanksgiving at home when it can be this good?” We may be re-thinking our tradition.
My family & I love the Copper Beech Inn for birthday parties, lunch & for the past two years: Thanksgiving. The food is delicious! But the staff & service is spectacular! Specifically Claudia! Claudia makes everyone feel special & is on top of everything! Thank you everyone for making our Thanksgiving the best again this year!!!
Went for thanksgiving. Food was good but service left something to be desired. Missing silverware, not everyone at table served at same time, forgotten courses.
Only one there in a Rainy Sunday night but felt so romantic and intimate
Fantastic food and service
Can’t wait to come back
A warm and cozy dining spot - especially during the winter and holidays before us. The food was fabulous; plump and sweet sea scallops on a bed of lobster rossotto, lovely muscles and the best French bread! The wine list is easy to navigate with some great selections and price range. The dessert did not disappoint- with a creamy crime brûlée and a sticky toffee pudding.
Our server was helpful but not overbearing. We can’t wait to return.
Celebrating a birthday and looked forward to a quiet upscale dining experience. We were seated in the bar area with loud music and noisy environment. We were told the proper dining rooms were closed during the week.,The only thing upscale about this dining experience was the cost. If you're looking for cozy and romantic this is not the place. We could have worn jeans and a sweater. Very disappointing.
Sam was our server and besides being attentive, knew the menu and could make recommendations. We has escargot for an appetizer, which was perfect. I had pan seared duck with sweet potato gnocchi. Fabulous. My husband had the veal chop which was delicious. The Inn is very interested and is also supposedly haunted as an added charm.
Great food. Excellent service. Very romantic. Live music in the bar area for a nice after dinner cocktail.
My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we were seated in a very nice and quiet corner. The food was amazing, as was the service. Before we left, we took some time to sit by the fire in the lobby. I look forward to going back!
My wife and I have had dinner here several times in the past year. The food and service are great. We highly recommend it.
My friend and I loved everything about this place.
Sunday night. We sat near the bar. The other ding room is more formal and intimate. Very nice evening out.
A truly special place- elegant, comfortable, full of charm and character. And the food and service was superb!
As usual, especially for a Friday nite, we enjoyed ourselves. Lite live music played in the corner. Food was very good.
excellent meal and service! I have been before - I highly recommend!
Missed seeing the Copper Beech Tree, explained it was taken down after damage from storm. Our first visit back after approximately 35-38 years brought my parents their to celebrate Anniversary.
High quality food and mouthwatering preparations. Each item was better than the next. We ate in the main dining room, which had a fireplace, adding to the ambiance. The service was great. Overall a great experience.
Enjoyed a lovely comfortable meal with friends on a Friday night. Ate in the larger carpeted dining room because it’s so much quieter and easier to converse. Service was excellent. ( Thank you, Claudia!) I gave Food 4 stars instead of 5 stars because I thought my serving of Moules ( mussels) was on the stingy side - especially when factoring that I had toss two mussels that would not open. Note to management - at that price, please ensure every last mussel is edible . Otherwise a very good meal .
