We went to the Delaunay for a family celebration as we had done in the past, and were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed, shown to a good table and served efficiently and courteously. The menu is varied so each of us could enjoy what we wanted, accompanied by interesting wines. All in all, a most enjoyable evening - and we will be back.
I love this place so so much! The food is delicious and atmosphere magical.
Haven’t been for a few years, but it didn’t disappoint. Great Service, good food and cocktails. Very happy with our visit and would return!
I was meeting a friend after a long break due to the pandemic. He ordered well, German style sausages with sauerkraut and potatoes. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with a side of pickled cucumbers. I should have complained at the time as the chicken was gristly and tough. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to spoil our evening by taking up precious time. I wish I had said something, as for the price, it should have been tender.
As usual it was a very enjoyable meal, introducing my goddaughter and her daughter from Oslo to your fine dining which they also enjoyed very much
The Delaunay has never disappointed me or my guests
A pleasant meal, a couple of items arrived tepid or cold but the waiting staff were busy so hard to grab the attention and get it rectified before the remaining meal went cold.
A little more expensive than we were expecting £100 a head including a cocktail each and a glass of wine seemed steep for the overall quality and service.
It was a birthday dinner and catch up. We didn’t order desserts but the waiter overheard it was a birthday and brought over a special dessert for the birthday girl. Very kind and made her evening.
Fabulous staff so friendly, from the booking to the greet & the service was a joy.
The restaurant was very clean and the staff constantly cleaning.
We will be returning next year for another visit.
The Delaunay is always a lovely treat with good food, service and ambience. A friend and I went for breakfast. I rarely have anything negative to say about the Delaunay but it is worth noting that the menu is very traditional. By that I mean there are not any hot vegan options, everything comes with eggs! If you eat eggs, then you’ll have a lovely time.
Sad to report that tales of the demise of this once fine establishment are very much true.
Sloppy drinks service, mediocre food and a frankly laughable 15% service charge ( what service?).
Truly abysmal experience.
Great food and service, as usual
The staff were excellent and very attentive. Loved the ambiance. We ate early due to theatre booking. Would love to have stayed longer to enjoy more courses!
As always, excellent service in a wonderful atmosphere with delicious food and wine.
This was our second visit to the Delaney recently. We were shown to our table punctually and our server was polite and good at her job. We felt both times that nobody cared if we ever dined there again. I’m aware it was busy but a more grateful goodbye would go down well with me
Loved it ! Felt really special and food cooked really well .
First visit. Delicious food and great atmosphere.
Always superb, food, service, ambience just great.
Not enough waiters taking care of customers. Very haphazard service with long stretches between visits to the table. We weren’t rushing but 2 1/2 hours for 2 courses really was an over long pause between ! Not very relaxing as it was a frantic sort of ambience.
Always a real experience to dine at The Delaunay. Food was excellent although on this occasion the waiter was a bit frosty. Overall though this lunch lived up to the specialness of the occasion we were celebrating.
Fabulous from the greeting on arrival to the moment we left. We will definitely return to this restaurant on our next visit to London. Just a wonderful afternoon in every way.
Lovely long leisurely, luxurious lunch :-)
Beautiful space. Elegant service. Great food. Probably my 10th time here….and never disappoints
Table was booked for 6pm. We arrived at 6:10pm. Menus arrived but could we get our server's attention? Ordered cocktails finally. After waving at everyone possible including the team lead. Finally got to order our food. We didn't order starters just mains. And s bottle of wine. Food eventually arrived but we had to wait for the wine till we were at least half way through. We then get approached by the team lead to tell us he needs our table back and we could have dessert in the bar area!!! I duggedt to him if they hadn't been so ridiculously slow this wouldn't be an issue and no we'd like dessert at the table and if they got on with it it wouldn't take long. But yes they were slow as you like with it. What an unpleasant way to run your business. Projecting your failings onto your customers is not the way to go.
Lovely restaurant, great service. Everything needed salt, but otherwise, very good. I cannot stop thinking about the Mushroom Stroganoff. I tried to make it at home the next day and it was awful. I would go back just for that. Don't skip the bread and butter either, the bread was lightly toasted, perfectly crispy crust with soft center, but it was the butter that was the best I've ever had.
Went to Delaunay for a birthday dinner. It was the choice as in the past we went there for a few occasions and it was always a great experience.
What can I say - quite dissapointed, I wish I picked a different place. Looks like over the past couple it deteriorated. No ambience whatsoever - loud crowded room with staff shouting and cutlery clinking and so the customers have to shout pound too to hear each other. It’s more reminiscent of a market on a busy day rather than a restaurant.
The service was rushed, I didn’t feel particularly welcome. There was pressure to free the table.
Food was so so. Quality ingredients but meal not up to standard
Super disappointing. felt very much like the management team were cutting corners and squeezing in covers, whilst the poor waiting staff did their best to smooth over the cracks. appalling food, really bad.
Wonderful food, and despite being busy the service was quick.
Staff are always so friendly! Good food in good portions, but a bit on the expensive side. A great restaurant for a special occasion
Delicious food and great service. We were able to sit and enjoy our meal and felt unhurried but looked after. Thanks.
Great food , we both had the classic schnitzel, and good service .
What a fabulous restaurant! The food was delicious and service excellent! I would highly recommend!
We had a fantastic meal at The Delaunay. The restaurant was exactly as we expected, a beautiful grand dining room, oozing quality. Delicious food, helpful and knowledgeable waiting staff. A lovely chatter and buzz with fellow diners but not too noisy!
Gorgeous as ever. 5* food and impeccable service. So reliable. Lovely ambience and no rush to finish.
It wasn't particularly cheap but worth it for the decor. We just had a prix fixe, limited choice, fairly plain but enjoyable.
A cover charge was added to the bill, as well as a 15% tip. The service was bad, we were late for the show but couldn't get a bill for about 20 minutes
