The Fly Trap
Haven’t been to this historic spot since the latest regime change. Really enjoyed the pan European menu especially the rock cod with succotash. Servers were attentive and the atmosphere just the right amount of lively.
An excellent meal in a casual environment with class. Recommend.
Pretty poor really, upon arrival it took a considerable period of time to be seated. When our server arrived back at the table to take our our , she then advised that there was only a reduced option menu, unfortunately we had to leave.
Other than my drink which tasted like a watermelon jolly rancher the food and drink were decent but also nothing special about it. We had drinks and the flat bread. Flat bread was decent but not any better or worse than other options In The neighborhood. The service was fine - no complaints there.
The food was absolutely fantastic. Great service and delicious cocktails. A must visit when you’re in the City.
Dining here was such a pleasant surprise! Our party had the Brussels, risotto, and burger and all were perfectly prepared and delicious. We will definitely go back to try more items on the menu.
The food was okay, but the ambiance was great. Very cute spot.
We asked for the quietest area so the out us in the back room. There was one table of 6 that was so loud we couldn’t hear each other over a 2 top. We would have been better in the bar area. One table of 4 left because it was so noisy. Acoustics are horrible. Food was decent and service great. Our dinner was ruined by a rowdy group.
Absolutely the best! My favorite thirsty Thursday spot.
Very good food. Service was good at first but left us sitting and waiting after we ordered. Would have had another drink but no one ever came back to ask. The bus service was outstanding.
I enjoyed the Fly Trap, but it is pretty pricey for what I felt like we received. We ordered two cocktails that were very good and interesting. However, we ordered both a burger and the pasta bolognese and, while good, I did not leave feeling like it was worth the cost.
I’ve been to Fly Trap many times and have been a huge fan. Very disappointed with the change of menu - the main entrees are so limited. Miss the Mediterranean options. If you don’t eat meat - limited options. We did the small plates and they were nice portion and tasty. Would like more entree options.
We had a thoroughly delightful evening. Outstanding food and warm, responsive service. We’ll be back again soon!
It’s too loud and very hard to keep a conversation going. But lovely decor and candle lighting! Great gin cocktail.
Service was sub-par. Waited 20 minutes for a server to even come over. Had to ask twice for my drink order. We also asked that all the food come out at the same time and they brought dishes out one at a time over 20 minutes.
Always a fun destination. It was a busy night as it was Valentines Day and a big convention in town with two large groups (sales people making their pitch). We did not feel neglected due the big table with the big spenders.
Nice inside, good food, nice staff but probably wouldn’t go back. Average on all fronts
I was traveling and a single which can be weird when going to a restaurant. I felt welcomed and the food was great.
I’ve been here a couple of times and realized the menu has changed significantly, as well as the quality of food. It’s a little boring. Although, the hot wings and fries were tasty but then again, they were fried!
The waiter was rushing and would bump into the table and knocked my water glass, but I caught it before it completely spilled. He also put my sparkling wine glass down too fast and spilled some and just said, “sorry” and rushed off. Won’t be visiting here for a while.
Delicious food, great service, wonderful atmosphere!
Loved the ambiance here. Food overall was excellent, though my burger wasn’t that exciting. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else.
The Risotto with Shrimp and asparagus was okay taste- wise but you had to really SEARCH for the asparagus under the rice!
My friend had the rock cod which was very tasty. It's a basic meal. No bread was included so we had to ask for some .
Service was average and it was not very busy and my friend waited a long time for the hot sauce she requested.
FlyTrap is SO GOOD!!! We had a most excellent bottle of pinot, an appetizer of cauliflower w/white bean reduction (SO yummy) and a shrimp risotto. Could not have been better!
The fly trap is the neighborhood gym just around the corner in San Francisco we eat there frequently the food is always excellent and the service is terrific.
Overall good experience. The cocktails were just okay and the fish was pretty fishy, so it must not have been very fresh. Otherwise, dinner was pretty good
Close to the convention center. Food was excellent, but more of a enhanced bar menu than a full menu. Excellent desserts! I would go again if in the area.
Average food, higher than average price
Great drinks, delish apps. Great meet up spot with friends.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere… We were at a party of nine friends from around the US, fly trap did an awesome hob hosting us.
Interesting menu, though some of the entrees seemed a bit pedestrian. Really enjoyed our cold plates, and dessert was tasty. Service was outstanding--friendly and accommodating.
Great ambiance and food.
The food was good, but some dishes were over-powering in spice. The servicing was quick and attentive.
We were some what disappointed because we based our decision to come here through yelp reviews and pictures of the food. We found out after we seated that they don't really have large dish entrees anymore but more of a tapas style menu. Lots of the food pictures that you see on yelp or open take no longer exist. I would recommend looking at their current menu before going.
Planned a date night for my bf and I, this place had a 100% recommended which I thought was awesome but I think we were hoping for something a little more unique. This spot is great for dinner on a Tuesday. Good menu nothing out of this world. Really good service though which is always a plus!
Love eating at The Fly Trap- the food is always very good and well-priced. Food arrives at the right times, and servers are attentive. Glad to introduce this great restaurant to two new fans. The marinated pintxos are amazing!
Seriously, this place is way too loud. Maybe it was because a Giants game just ended on an early Friday afternoon, but the decibels were deafening.
Wonderful update to a great space in San Francisco
Change in management - change in menu offerings... not enough big plates to go with the small plates.
Quality was very good though.
What a pleasent surprise! I booked this restaurant mainly for the location, easy on and off the freeway for us East Bay folks and close to where our friends in the city live and work. The parking at the Courtyard Marriott on the corner made it even easier. The pleasent surprise was the food and service. Everything was delicious, especially the Chicken Chili small plate. We shared several small plates and then split entrees. A must try, is the Fly Trap Mai Tai, just delicious and the Tempranillo by the glass was very good. It can get pretty loud, but it did not distract from a wonderful time.
We met a friend before the Giant's game
We both had used BART-MUNI to get downtown. The Flytrap was a perfect location to met. Food was good, nice bar and service was great. Not crazy crowded like places at ATT.
Great for post-game bite and drink and socializing. Back room good for talking and tapas
