It was in a great location for our group. We had a nice group round table in the back and the service was fantastic.
The service, food was good. We enjoyed the fries which was so crisp and flavorful.
Had gone in March, sat at bar and had bar menu and cocktail. It was sooo excellent: food & cocktail quality, the service was impeccable with order tickets going in and impeccably timed service throughout.
Brought LA gf for full menu only *3 months* later. WTAF happened?! MEDIOCRE at best.
Must’ve been on good behavior with their consultants only 3 months ago. DISAPPOINTMENT.
Initially told us they couldn't honor our reservation because of a private party (although it didn't reflect in the booking system with OpenTable). Then they called us back and told us we could come -- entire restaurant was empty
An excellent choice for a post-movie burger.
Great staff, Very nice. Good food and drink selections.
Nice vibe inside, good service across the board and quick to receive our food. French fries were great, chicken sandwich was good but chicken had a bit of a tough texture.
We had a great first time experience at Keystone. The menu is not huge but varied. We especially enjoyed the jerk chicken. We were delighted to learn that even on a Saturday they offer happy hour until 6:30 p.m.
Great place to have dinner with friends. Close to theater and shopping too!
Very friendly waitstaff, excellent service and the food was really on point! Every dish was delicious! I will be back!
Disappointing. I had the Caesar salad with chicken. The greens were nothing special. The chicken was horrible and stringy. It looked like the scraps that remain after you remove the good pieces, chewy and tough strips from the leg and thighs perhaps. I would have told our waiter but we didn’t seem to have a regular one who asked how things were, just the hostess or random employees that we snagged. My companion had the polenta with veggies. It was fine, though under-seasoned. The asparagus appetizer was the best thing we had. I used to like this restaurant, but now it is just mediocre bar food. Too bad.
They were out of at least half the food items on the menu, but did not inform us of that until we had already ordered things. We ordered three different items and were then told that they didn't have those. We would have ordered very differently if we had known that half the things we wanted were not available, or we would have gone elsewhere (one of us is vegetarian and the other is gluten free, and we had deliberately looked at the menu in advance and made sure they had things that met our needs, but then they were out of many of those things). The cocktails were good and the server was good and courteous, but it was not a good experience for food.
We had a bunch of apps for dinner. Truffle fries were good. The calamari was different from the usual way I have. It has deep fried & battered pickles. The squid wasn't crunchy enough, but was still good. It didn't come w/ a lemon & the sauce had some kind of seasoning on it, like thyme. The buffalo chicken was a little dry but the Mac Royale was so good. Perfect amounts of mushroom and sausage. This was an entree but the portion was like an appetizer.
Had a meeting across the street and this is a perfect place for a business meal. Very tasty. Not too loud. Overall, I’d come back
I’ll get the negatives out of the way first: crowded after work and very, VERY noisy. Everything else is positive. They have a great happy hour, very good food, fairly reasonable prices, and friendly service that seems to like their customers. I will definitely return.
Great place to dine. Awesome food and great service.
What a gem! The ambiance set the stage for a fabulous evening with 6 friends! Each entrée we had was delicious. Our server Dennis was wonderful! Great location. Can't wait to return!
Close to the Metreon. Great food. Great service.
The service was great, a great spot for lunch! Tomato soup delicious, chicken wrap was good, but a bit too much aioli. We had a meeting over lunch and it was not too loud in the restaurant.
In a neighborhood light in good options Keystone is a solid choice. Nothing was revolutionary but everything was good.
The Maitre d'/Manager/Owner (the tall guy with the big moustache) is better suited to be a bouncer at the door of a twenty-something nightclub. He physically grabbed my boss as he was walking to the restaurant side of the bar to say hello to some folks he recognized sitting at that side of the bar, telling him there were no more seats and he was not allowed over there. On the bar-side of the bar he interrupted people talking to tell them to clear a path so that people could get to the restroom... as if no one had ever been in a crowded bar before and didn't know how to say 'excuse me'. He was not polite and appeared irritated dealing with the crowd. You truly got the impression that he wished we would all leave. Which we would have if we were not meeting a large party there. Despite the menace, we did like the place and the food was very good when we did sit down for dinner.
Food and service were great. The only downside was the large table of young girls who were seated about 3/4 of the way through our meal. They completely ruined a nice dining experience.
We ordered fried cauliflower as the appetizer, the sausage pizza and the squash pizza as our entrees, and the ice cream assortment for dessert. The cauliflower was quite good, though I feel a bit heavy on the batter, the squash pizza was a bit burnt although the sausage pizza was lovely, and the ice cream assortment tasted homemade (although one, for some reason, tasted uncannily of fish oil). Perhaps we should have gotten another entree other than pizza; although 1 out of 4 items was stellar and 3 were fine, for a $28 meal I would hope to enjoy more of it.
Enjoyed a terrific meal at the Keystone. We tried the sausage pizza, Caesar salad, ahi tuna and mixed grill. All were delicious. Staff were engaging and attentive. to top it off, we had the Apple Bread Pudding for dessert. What a treat! You will enjoy a visit to the Keystone.
The service was excellent - warm, friendly, knowledgeable. The food was very mediocre.
Everything was rushed while the restaurant was half empty. Main course was slapped on the table while we had just started eating our starters. Waiters were rude and got order wrong. This is not something that you expect from a restaurant like this.
Loved this place. Thoughtful design. Friendly, helpful staff. Great menu variety in both style and price. We popped in and out easily with a reservation and were able to make our theatre showtime down the road at the Orpheum. If you’re worried about noise levels, the bar area seemed much louder than the smaller dining area where we were fortunate enough to be seated.
Fabulous cheeseburger!! The venue and location are great for after a day of shopping or a movie. The menu looks great so I’ll be back!
We had great service and although the menu is very small we were delighted with our mixed grill and bacon wrapped prawns.
Good upscale bar food. Waiter was great.
My husband and I had just arrived into town and were walking around aimlessly trying to find a nice place to eat. We stumbled upon keystone and the service there was the best. They are very friendly. The menu is not incredibly vast however, we ordered and shared the truffle fries, poke and chicken pizza. All were very good.
Siamo stati al Keystone qualche giorno fa. Atmosfera da pub. Ma servizio e cibo da ristorante.
Ottime anche le birre. Cheesburger da favola!! Il migliore del viaggio fino ad ora.
Always a great choice & the location is convenient to the convention center.
Traveling with family and was staying across the street. We went by and the place looked interesting so we made reservation for the next day. Pleasantly surprised. Good food and s drinks served with excellent service.
Was passing by with friends; and from outside this place looks awesome. Made reservation looking forward to some good food and wine/ cocktails.
Service is excellent but the food menu is extremely limited. Basically burgers, pizza, regular salad. This place has great potential if they could add a few more variety in the menu. The wine list also short... good cocktails and full bar for those who just want beverages.
Had lunch with 2 friends on a Tuesday at noon. It seemed very empty for an SF workday. The service was good. My friend told me she changed from iced tea to lemonade because her tea tasted soapy. I got a tea and it tasted fine, so must have been the glass. I had a green salad and vegetarian chili. One friend had a green salad and fries. The other had the fried chicken sandwich (looked great - did not try). The green salad was good, pretty standard. The chili was just odd. It was bland and everything seemed blended together, just kind of a soupy ground meat texture. The fries were delicious though.
Service seemed a bit slow. May have just been because it was a Sunday night. Waited quite a bit for our beers when the place was almost empty. Food was quite tasty, ice cream was amazing!
I really love The Keystone, service and food are ALWAYS great here. You can go for the Bar Menu or a larger menu for sit-down dining. I myself just had a NY Steak and was blown away, cooked perfectly and outstanding value.
