The Old Village Inn
Food, service and environment were outstanding. We never visit Ogunquit without dining at OVI!
Wonderful time and dinner. Will return again next year. Service was terrific, waitress was great and funny.
Broiled scallops were perfection. The lobster, spinach, and angel hair pasta special was delicious!
Food and waitstaff were fantastic.
Excellent repas, service rapide est professionnel. Endroit plein de charme.
It's a lovely little Inn and although the food was good, I think it would have been better had it arrived hotter. My twin medallions were warm and there was way too much time between my husband's appetizer and the delivery of our meals. A table nearby, who arrived after us, received their meals 5 to 10 minutes before us. At one point, my husband asked for another glass of seltzer water, but it never arrived. I was sadly not as impressed as I had anticipated, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't go back again and give it anther go.
Great meal, fair prices and excellent service. Best restaurant apple pie ever!!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately we did not think the food was as delicious as we experienced in the past, which was disappointing. The special my husband ordered was quite a small portion and the baked stuffed shrimp lacked flavor. I hope it returns to the wonderful food offered in the past as we like the ambience and staff.
Perfect spot for a delicious, fantastic dinner with excellent service and attention to detail!
Although we had eaten at The Village Inn before we were totally unaware of the tavern bar area. So we decided to enjoy a cocktail at the bar prior to sitting on the porch for our dinner. Michael, the bartender, was attentive and made an excellent drink. Bobby, our server, was professional and took great care of us. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly. After dinner we returned to the intimate gathering at the bar. The space is small but comfortable and very conducive to friendly conversation with bar mates. This discovery made for a really pleasant evening.
Always amazing in every way. From cocktails and appetizers to dessert and coffee, the food is outstanding and so is the service. We always appreciate seeing Bill, Natasha, Bobby and the entire OVI team. The inn is a must while in Ogunquit. Don’t miss this gem right on Main St.
Anniversary dinner. Food was very good. Our waiter was delightful.
I think that this inn is great for everyday dining, special occasions dates and get togethers. Food and service were excellent!
We were looking forward to our meal at the Village Inn but were so disappointed when 3 out of our 4 meal were poor with one being really awful. The only real positive was we weren’t charged for the really poor meal. Very dated property - so many more inviting places to eat in Ogunquit.
The food and service were excellent as usual. Large fresh shrimp, fabulous beef filet, and homemade apple pie.
Best meal I've had in the area in 10 years
Can't wait to go back.
I have dined at the Old Village Inn on three separate occasions last summer, autumn, and on this past Monday evening. Food, as with other visits, was of excellent quality, as was the service. It is not the place for those who demand a noisy environment with deafening noise and a highly creative menu. What this restaurant offers is classic cuisine, attractively presented, in a very pleasant, traditionally decorated and relatively quiet atmosphere. I find the Old Village Inn a most welcome change of pace from the high noise and somewhat boisterous venues that are common in "trendy restaurants."
Great setting right in the center of Ogunquit. Quaint old Inn and the ambience you would expect. Feels like dinner at an old friends house. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and drinks also reasonable. Table ware complimented everything and did not have the feel of a chain or corporate ownership. Nice and relaxing and would eat there again. Looking forward to our next visit.
We really enjoyed our meal here and will come back!
The prime rib was excellent - order in advance as they run out. The French onion soup was very good.
The service, including the maitre d’ and our waiter named Walker, were super nice.
The place has a great vibe. We heard very good live music there on a Friday night.
They served a generous portion of the lagavulen Scotch I ordered.
Food was excellent and the atmosphere is so quaint and charming
Great service and food
We were up in Ogunquit for a Girls weekend and I made reservations 3 days ahead of the date we wanted to eat at the Old Village Inn. It is one of the only places in downtown Ogunquit that you can make a reservation. We were seated at our reservation time, at a table in the front room, which was a great location. It was quiet and we had the view of Main Street. Food was delicious, we had the Pan Seared Scallops, the Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon and the stuffed seafood. All of us enjoyed our meal. Delicious!
One of our favorite spots in Ogunquit! Never miss coming here when we are in town!
Wonderful dinner for 5 of us. Promptly seated at reservation time. Table was beautifully set and service was prompt. Pork schnitzel was a winner along with perfectly baked stuffed haddock and pork tenderloin. Great bar service and amazing desserts. One of our favorite restaurants in Ogunquit!
So disappointed ☹️. I hate to write this review 😬 but they should be aware of our experience...Three of us sent our food back because it was barely warm. The other 2 diners with us said their food was just warm also but was afraid to send it back. The salmon was maybe 3-4oz serving. The lobster rolls that were ordered were made with the littlest top split hot dog rolls we had ever seen. Maybe 3oz of lobster. Seared Scallops over angel hair bland tasting. Not sure if they were just having an off night...if so, to bad for us.
Excellent as always!
Ogunquit is a busy place and The Old Village Inn is the place to go for a wonderful and ‘civilized’ dinner.
I’ve been here for dining many times, it’s perfect for me. I live in Worcester Ma and will drive up here for the day or to stay over at the Inn. I have the chicken, the salmon, Marsala, the scallops and all dishes excellent. The server was very helpful, as I need gluten free. But I do think gluten free rolls would be great and to find a way to serve gluten free desert. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice, just enough lighting, linen, and a candle lite at the tables. But dinner soft piano or jazz music would be nice to hear in a distance. Also a radio might go well in the suites up stairs. I always came to Maine and stayed in motels, but since I discovered the Inn in Ogunquit I enjoy staying here much better and you have parking. Thank you I will be back May 7 and 8, 2020 please hold suite 4 for us two. And I will probably be calling ahead of time. Barbara Lavallee
This is a great local spot for a nice dinner with friends or family. Casual and relaxed ambiance set in an old inn. The staff is very attentive and our dinners were outstanding.
Inn is very charming. Service was great. Prices extremely reasonable. Only complaint is that the prime rib was a little under cooked and cooled to room temperature faster than we could eat it.
Will go back again, trying something else from the menu.
We visited Ogunquit and went to the Old Village Inn three times. We kept returning because in our view they were the best of the best. I would only recommend that if you tend to feel the cold don’t sit in the porch room. It was early September and a bit too chilly for all of the windows to be open that night. Service; sometimes there’s a language barrier with some of the servers. Ex. Ordered what I thought was angel hair pasta with lobster in a garlic butter cream sauce with a bit of lemon. It was butter with tons of lemon (after asking them to go light as I don’t like lemon). They re-did it. Less lemon the second time but it was not a garlic butter cream sauce.
Excellent as always.
We will be back next week with our company.
selected this place because of its proximity to the center of ogunquit and distance from our hotel. server named walker was attentive. i had the duck breast and it was my error to not order it medium rare...otherwise, tasty!! my girlfriend had the chicken marsala with angel hair, which she enjoyed.
as it was a friday night, the pub area was already busy. i was glad i made a reservation on open table as when we arrived for our 6pm seating, the host/manager advised other people that there was going to be a wait and some folks left!! we, were seated immediately in the main dining room.
Nice atmosphere. Interesting menu. Good service.
Service and food were excellent. Very cozy atmosphere.
Old style inn.. some might even call quaint, but really just dilapidated, a bit smelly and just worn out. The utensils are worse than army surplus. My fork actually would bend when cutting my prime rib. Food was average and tasteless... prime rib was even cool...basic inexpensive baked potato and green beans. Soup, salad and fish were nothing to write about! I can see why for some this is “fine” dining but even in Ogunquit this is at best a 2.
Our waiter was pleasant though and hard working to keep up and we enjoyed visiting with him!!
I could’ve had better quality from Stop & Shop. There’s a bad odor of old stuff when you walk in and it carries right through to the meal.
The lobster bisque was very salty, tasted like it was from a can. My husband had the prime rub... it was tasteless and barely warm. The server was fine. I would not recommend this restaurant. I know there are several other nicer and better quality food establishments in the area.
Delicious food and excellent service. Perfect for dining before show at Ogunquit Playhouse!
Go for the duck
A wonderful meal! Jim, our server, was terrific as well.
