The restaurant is as good as ever. Menu has been reduced and place needs a facelift ( for the past 10 years). A great tine to do it would have been during Covid lockdown. That's ok since the view is the best around. Just stare at your mate or out the window,
We came in from Philadelphia & enjoyed our first meal at Spinnaker's. Our server was excellent as was the food & wine selection. Thank you!
The view alone is worth the visit but the food is excellent as well. Just be sure to keep all valuables out of sight in your car. When exiting the restaurant we found someone's car had the windows shattered and all their luggage and valuables stolen. This happened between 7 and 8 p.m. in the daylight and the restaurant valet didn't even notice it.
Was good but not great. At that price point I was expecting better. My wife loved the pasta primavera. I had the halibut. Service was good.
Great view and good service overcomes average food. Price was right.
The service was ridiculous. Nice enough waiter but very clearly in the wrong field. The food was cold probably due to the service. To many problems to mention. Total disappointment.
Food was fairly bland however, I would recommend the clam chowder! Go there for the view and relaxation!
Excellent fresh seafood - lovely atmosphere - service very good
Valet parking easy --
Our waiter did not introduce himself. It was our 35th year anniversary & I asked him if they did anything special. His remark was everyone comes here for a special occasion you can order a dessert & we will put a candle. Wow for an expensive place he did not have good customer service! Even Sizzler would do something as to give a dessert for free. The lobster was hard and chewy.
We've always loved the Spinnaker, but today was exceptional in EVERY way. We were celebrating two milestone birthdays and the Hostess sat us at a table with astounding views. The server was just right in attentiveness and very personable. Our wine and each meal selection couldn't have been better. We live in San Jose and can't wait to return again for a wonderful meal and unbeatable ambience.
All good except grilled halibut. Seemed weird.
Arrived 15 mins early for reservation. Told to wait in bar until table ready. ( requested one at window) We could see a table for 4 was available in window. 15 mins. later the hostess said our table was ready and took us to the table we had seen empty on arrival.
My special martini was small and weak for $12.50
My halibut picatta was over cooked and the mixed vegetables looked like cutting board scraps with no discernible vegetables. My husbands petrale sole was over cooked as well.
Too bad. Beautiful view and good wait staff.
We will not return.
Perfect food and delicious. I love the view and been there multiple times. Will go back there for sure.
View was great, the special was excellent, the grilled halibut a bit dry. Service was slow and the restaurant decor is a bit tired. Not worth the high prices.
This is just an outstanding restaurant. We're locals, and it's one of our favorite. Service is old-school and fantastic - very gracious. (Most staff have been there for years, so clearly a nice place to work.) There's a new chef, and the menu is even better. There are some innovative. They've also finished renovations, with a new carpet. etc. And there are beautiful outdoor tables as well if you want to dine al fresco.
Staff was friendly and COVID compliant, which made the dining experience very enjoyable. Food was well prepared and served promptly. We enjoyed our lunch, it was a lovely day.
Nice views, nice setting. It was quiet enough to hold a conversation at the table.
The biggest drawback were the flies - since you are right on the bay, the bay flies tend to get in the building and are drawn to the windows. They can be bothersome.
Petrale sole special ($35) was served lukewarm and the fish was mushy and heavily breaded. The stuffing was flakes of crab and some bay shrimp - also mushy. So the risotto cake became the star of the plate. Alex, our server, was attentive and pleasant.
The Sailor’s Plate: calamari and fish filet overcooked; prawns and scallops delicious; French fries lukewarm. Clam chowder had lumps of flour.
It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed sitting outside by the water.
The views from the restaurant are unbeatable. The atmosphere is perfect. !
Food was delicious but service was kind of slow, though it appears our server was the only one in a large section. This is probably to be expected with worker shortages. He was very polite and calm despite the obvious rush. We both had the spinnaker Benedict, which was wonderful. Nice ambiance, beautiful views.
A beautiful day all around. Fabulous weather with great view. Attentive service, gourmet food and delightful company. Nothing could be better.
Spectacular views! The food and service were great!
I have been to the Spinnaker many times. The meal wasn't hot which was the disappointment. My friend and I always get the same thing. Although that was the case for me, and maybe her, we didn't say anything. It was just nice to get together and catch up and the scenery is beautiful.
Everything was excellent! Had a table outside. Weather was perfect, and both the food and service were outstanding. Highly recommended!!
Wonderful! Reminded me of SF Fisherman's Wharf in its hayday.
Always a great Choice, relaxing, beautiful views
Love this place! We were there for our 30th wedding anniversary and everything was perfect.
Excellent choice to celebrate my spouse’s 76th birthday. She had the mixed seafood plate, and I chose the crab cakes. The view of the bay from inside is spectacular, but chose to dine outside if the weather permits. Service is very good and unobtrusive. All in all, the Spinnaker provides good value.
We have never had a bad (or even mediocre) meal at the Spinnaker. Food is consistently very, very good, and you can't beat the location, and view from the restaurant itself. Our service was very attentive, personable, and we really enjoyed the meal. First time that we had the 'Mixed Grill' which includes Halibut, Shrimp, and Scallops. You can neve go wrong with any seafood that you order there. The Caesar salad was good but I like it served the tradditional way. The lettuce was chopped and served, but it was still good.
Absolutely the worst meal that I've ever had. Seriously, the Uber Eats McDonald's we had for breakfast was better. Had lunch with four friends on Memorial Day and all of our food was cold by the time it arrived (an hour after ordering). During that time, we'd have loved to have ordered more drinks, but alas the waiter never came to check on us. In fact, I wondered if he was still employed at the restaurant. When he did show up, he dropped off food to ours and three other tables, then left before asking if we needed anything. Literal quote from my friend; "I keep trying your French fries thinking they'll be good, but then they're cold AND YET still they're somehow better than my soggy Caesar salad." Save your money and order takeout from any of the other restaurants in Sausalito and sit on the Bay with the same view you're basically paying for at this out-of-date, service-less place that pretends to be a restaurant.
Went for brunch. Great food - had the cheese plate, French toast, eggs Benedict, and some drinks (espressotini, Cadillac margarita, and bellini). Pretty standard fare - nothing “special” but certainly good enough. Decor is old but kitschy and of a certain era that I can appreciate. Very much fits with the town. The views are spectacular and worth the price of admission.
