The Tides Beach Club
We loved loved LOVED our dinner at the Tides. Beautiful decor, romantic and fun ambiance and amazing food and wine! Highly recommended!!!
Well, I would probably recommend the place because it enjoys a very good reputation locally. But the real issue is you, OpenTable, which confirmed my reservations when the place's kitchen was closed! Yes closed and dead as a door nail. So I would recommend the place but would have strong reservations about recommending the conduit for reserving your table because, OpenTable can also be a fairly lousy conduit. They confirmed my reservations after, well doing nothing like contacting the place, ensuring the kitchen at at a minimum was open! What a concept, but no. They did nothing, they just sat there, asleep at the wheels, expecting their cut for doing nothing! Talking about resting on your laurels thinking you have made it! You need to change your CEO, how about that? Something to think about.....
The food as well as the service was wonderful as usual
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Location is fabulous, beach front.
Delicious but felt very crowded at small table for four.
Things are quiet now that it is in the off-season and we pretty much had the dining room to ourselves… Our waitress was very pleasant and our food was delicious!...The desk clerk even gave us a tour of the rooms!
Always delicious and the service is outstanding. A favorite.
Would go again
This is a wonderful spot, feels more local , not packed with tourists, our waiter was great. Loved ambiance sitting out enclosed patio, very cozy. My husband had seafood risotto that was good. We started with warm crab dip, sadly served with greasy chips, little flavor. I had beet and goat cheese salad that fell short, bitter dressing. Ended with apple crisp that was too tart. Wanted it to be so much better.
The Tides is our favorite place to go for date night in the local area. They knock it out of the park with their entire menu and service every time! Try the oysters & their El Diablo. You won’t be disappointed!
Always great. Ben and Kate are exceptional
This was my third time at The Tides and I was so excited to bring my friends to try it. It did not disappoint! From our initial greeting by the host to the warm and efficient service, it was a wonderful evening. The food is excellent- such depth of flavour.
Special shoutout to the peanut butter ice cream which stole the show at dessert!
I was here this time with 3 other friends, Some came last year with me. One had not. We all loved our meal.. I have had dinner with this restaurant multiple times this summer. This night was the quietest, and we got outstanding service.
Loved the round table in front with the comfy chairs.. Had not sat in those this year..
We will be back next year and I will definitely be back many times too. I live at the Beach and love being able to walk to dinner and back on the sand!!
Have a good rest of the fall and winter..
The food was good, but we expected brunch but got only a limited lunch menu which apparently started at 12:15. The reservation was made after a “Sunday Brunch” search on Open Table so we were mildly disappointed. That said, we loved our table and the server was efficient and nice. We’ll be back some other time once we figure out the time for brunch.
Hi CKMarin, I'm sorry that your search for brunch suggested The Tides' as we have never served brunch as an option here. For our fall schedule we are opened Monday-Thursday 3pm-9pm and Friday, Saturday & Sundays from 12pm-9pm. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, and we hope to see you again before we close for the season! My husband and I stay at The Tides every year and love dining at their restaurant. Food is
Consistently great and they have a very creative cocktail menu. The vibe is also wonderful. Pottery Barn meets Jonathan Adler.
First time here - will be back!!
From the first moment when we arrived and saw the iconic Inn as charming as it could be, we sat on the gorgeous porch and enjoyed the view of the beach and ocean sipping on our fabulous cocktails. We were seated inside in the porch area for dinner and it was lovely, our waitress Abbey was sweet and attentive and our meals were both wonderful. The lobster cooked two ways was yummy and my husband's fish and chips were delicious. Our desserts were fabulous, the orange cheesecake and blueberry pound cake were some of the best desserts we've had in awhile. Don't miss this charming place when you visit Kennebunkport, it's a winner. We will be back.
Gorgeous view, great service. Dinner menu is a little limited. Seating in the covered porch area is very close quarters.
Service was a little slow. Steak was poor quality and tough.
Our dinners were very good. The service was very fast, almost too fast as I would have enjoyed more time with my drink. From order to dinner served was less than ten minutes. I know it’s crazy to complain about too fast service, but we do like time to enjoy dinner. Just ask to hold your order for a certain amount of time. No other complaint... great drinks, great food, beautiful beach front view, definitely a beach inn vibe.
Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere and super nice staff. Love this place!
We had a delicious Maine seafood dinner at Tides. Our waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Our reservation was early so we had no wait being seated and served. We were near the bar so the noise level was pretty high but we enjoyed the food and the view very much.
We had an awesome dinner . Service was great . Wait staff wee excellent
Vacation visit. Great summer vibe in a sophisticated but not stuffy environment. The mixologist is excellent-drinks are special and worth drinking-but the wait for a drink is just too long. The service overall is scattered and inattentive. The food is above average and prepared very well. Location is quintessential summer!
Our server Cole was fantastic, the food was delicious and the staff were spectacular! Will be going back very soon!
Disappointing menu. Poor rolls, mussels so so, not exciting desserts. Not as remembered from previous year. Great Aperol spritzer!
It was only my husband and I for a small dinner out. We were seated it the front room and loved it, much easier to talk to each other. The main room is lively and fun , but this was perfect for a quieter conversation. I liked that there were other small tables and no loud parties around us.
Our drinks and meals were outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Love the setting the friendly staff and the great menu selections
All in all a great evening!
We always have a lovely and memorable time at TBC! The ambiance is unlike anything else in town. The service is friendly and casual which adds to the relaxation of the experience. The food. Well the food is art on a fork and we are never disappointed!!
We dine at The Tides regularly during the high season and we love it. Last night’s experience was wonderful as always despite the computer systems being down. The service, food and beverages were still just as excellent as ever!
What a beautiful place to go for cocktails and dinner. Very romantic and I will definitely be back with my boyfriend. The service and food was excellent and I love the porch with the comfortable couches and chairs to sit and relax for a before/after dinner drink.
Both our meals were excellent and service by very pleasant and friendly Phoebe was terrific.
It has gone down hill a lot. Felt dirty inside, food was just mediocre and the service left something to be desired. Not what I have come to expect from KRC hotels and restaurants. I will be back because I live in the area and it is a nice spot. But they need to get back on their game.
We had dinner at Tides. The place was packed. We had a reservation. We were seated inside on the porch near 2 screaming kids. It was an awful experience. Food was mediocre. Chowder was thick and gummy. Shrimp rolls were tasteless. I have stayed here closer to off season and enjoyed it but will not go back this summer.
My family takes an annual trip to Maine every summer and I wanted to start a new “exit” tradition before he hit the road home. Having two young boys and a pregnant wife leaves researching restaurants more these days to avoid precarious scenarios to say the least. The Tides did not disappoint. The Sticky Shrimp was delectable as were the Lobster Rangoons. Admittedly, I’m a lobster roll snob and have one at least once if not twice a day while in Maine. At first I thought $28 was a bit much for one, but I kid you, the Tides’ was worth every penny.
All in all, my family was very happy and well fed as we began our 5 hour trip back to NJ. The Tides was our final destination and I must say the food and view were incredible. They just earned a new customer and a spot in our annual Maine tradition.
