Chicken and almond sauce is delicious.
The shrimp and garlic sauce appetizer is always a must for us.
We had confirmation for the table but when we got there the restaurant was closed
Everything was excellent food service nice place cozy and worm
Expensive but fantastic!
Perfect atmosphere with excellent service with delicious foods. Will revisit 200%!
The food is also delicious and the setting quite elegant. Many of our older clients love the feel of being in "Europe" while in NYC.
The restaurant was excellent. Food was superb.Service was excellent. Well worth the money Old world elegance
This place never fails. They go the extra mile in trying to ensure a delightful evening. As long as you are okay with a healthy dose of garlic in your life then worth being on the pricey side.
Class act restaurant for any occasion. Excellent food and service. Best Spanish food outside of Toledo Spain.
Toledo and it’s staff were very accommodating for our large party. We were there for a bachelorette, and they treated us to a surprise dessert and shots at the end of our meal. The food was delicious, and service was excellent. They even helped one of the girls in our group find a private room in the hotel to pump.
I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Always a delicious meal and service. Perfect for a couple or a bunch.
Consistently excellent
A little pricey but worthwhile
A hidden gem in midtown Manhattan
Excellent service! The food was authentic. Great wine selection. I also love the fact that the tables are a good distance apart. I prefer only to hear the conversations at our own table.
Thank you to the staff of a Toledo for a memorable evening!
Two of my friends and I arrived at the restaurant for a noon reservation prior to going to the theatre. It was a very brisk December day befitting a post-Thanksgiving Saturday. The atmosphere inside Toledo was perfect. The restaurant opens at noon, and when the doors opened we were warmly greeted and welcomed into a beautifully decorated, spacious dining area. Our coats were checked and we were escorted to a dining room toward the back of the house. The waiter wasted no time in taking our orders and was most attentive throughout our stay. All of our dishes were prepared to perfection: fried calamares, which we shared; mariscada with hot garlic sauce, baked red snapper, and chicken ajillo with hot garlic sauce. We ended the meal with tartufo and lemon sorbet. Because of the theatre start time and its distance from the restaurant during a busy Manhattan holiday weekend, we were a little rushed for time, but we will definitely return to Toledo for lunch or for dinner. It is well staffed with attentive, professional servers and the atmosphere is to family, friends, business associates having a festive time, even without the holidays. There is also a nice bar area at the front. A gentleman who came in right after us was still there as we were leaving. Now joined by a female companion, we exchanged greetings as we departed. Both of them seemed to be familiar with the restaurant and continued to chat with the bartender, which made me think this might be a neighborhood gem. Not a bad place to relax and unwind on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Toledo is closed on Sunday.
Great food, attentive staff
If you're looking for a classic Spanish restaurant for quiet conversation, reliable food and attentive service, Toledo is a excellent choice. It's the opposite of trendy; it's old school in a good way.
It’s a good spot to hang out with friends and be able to hear them speak. The food overall was good authentic Spanish fare. I really liked the sangria and all the appetizers. The paella was not bad. The service was a tad slow but they let us hang out without interruptions long after the meal.
Great food and superb service.
The food is a never fail. It’s so good all the time. And the garlic soup is unparalleled.
The restaurant and staff are a step back in time when service and creating an atmosphere when the diner feels welcome. A friend of the family who is surrounded by attention, great food and liquor. It’s off the beaten track, but well worth the trip!
Always a wonderful meal with amazing service. We went for a firm dinner and everything was enjoyed by all.
Food was not as good as expected. The paella rice was over cooked. The veal and the fish were ok but
Real authentic Spanish food, great service and a good selection of wines.
Wonderful food and service
Excellent for Business meetings or a nice celebration.
Excellent service and delicious food ; fantastic place to visit again...
Always good food and service. We eat here often and are never disappointed.
The service is always amazing. Any age can enjoy this but many times it is quiet and it's very elegant. So if you are an older couple or taking older clients it's especially wonderful. The food is delicious and there is a lot to choose from. - NDL
Really great waiters and lovely place. Lobster was okay but green sauce not quite green enough. Needed to be more robust. Flavors wer good though
This restaurant is from another era. The room is all wood and pictures and the staff well dressed. The menu selections are classic Spanish and the wine choices are vast and on the high side. Food quality was good, but there was not a molecule of saffron in the rice of my seafood dish although it was stated to be there.
For those wishing to eat at a Restaurant with a capital R, quiet for conversation, well staffed and with a good menu, this is the place.
The service was fantastic and the food very good
We loved our experience at Toledo. White table cloths, beautiful charger-plates, helpful and professional wait staff all added up to a memorable evening. We had paella and it was cooked beautifully. Our waiter recommended just the right wine. This is a wonderful restaurant for a cold winter evening.
It is very classy and refined. It is a wonderful place to take clients and friends to actually having a conversation when dining.
Good food, mediocre service, nice atmosphere , but overpriced.
Restaurant canceled my reservation without giving a reason. When I called I was rudely told they had overbooked and to bad for me and my party of six. I will never deal with Toledo again, it was beyond rude.
Outstanding, incredible paella, with lots of choices. Chef will accommodate any special requests.
One comment -- when I booked it, OpenTable told me the restaurant was fully booked for the time I wanted. However, the restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived (only one other table was occupied),and it remained almost empty throughout the evening. Why?
I hope the restaurant did not lose any diners because they were told it was fully booked.
Did not know how good this restaurant was until we stared eating!!! Everything was delicious and tasty! The bread should be warmed more!!!! The paella Valencia was out of this world!!!’ I will defy return in the very near future!
Toledo restaurant served up an authentic Spanish experience. The food was excellent and authentic. The service was impeccable and very personal and engaging. My wife is Spanish and we eat out in Spain many times a year. This was like being in Spain.
It was my first time and I thought the food was genuine and tasty. Portions were huge.
Ambiance and Service was pretty good. The food was not very good. For what the prices are here they need to step up the foods flavor. It’s a pretty expensive restaurant and was left disappointed by the food. The servers were very attentive and on top of us mainly because were practically the only ones in the restaurant.
