Great atmosphere, food was also very good. Service was somewhat slow, especially the bar. We waited quite awhile for our drinks.
Our server Jackie was excellent. She was friendly, informative and very attentive.
A very disappointing evening at Tosca. Their biggest problem continues to be the noise! It was very hard to have a conversation across our table, or even hear the waitress list the specials. Our appetizers (mushroom pate) and dessert (tiramisu) were very good, but our filet mignon were not so good.....dry and over flavored with something I couldn’t place...but it took away from the flavor of the beef itself. We chose a bottle of wine which should have been very good, but it was sharp and therefore very overpriced.
Food was wonderful as always. Peter took excellent care of us as usual
Both my appetizer (Chicken livers) and main course (Swordfish) were overly prepared. Dishes were complex preparations that overwhelmed the flavor of the core ingredients. Both chicken livers and swordfish were dry and tasteless underneath all the sauce etc. Pizza Margherita and salad were OK.
A Special Day for someone in the family accompanied by best friends. A great pairing for sure! Food was outstanding last night. Great job to the chefs!
Fantastic food as always but it was extremely noisy this time but I’ll keep going back
Jackie, our server, was a delight!
I went to Tosca for a business dinner. My guest asked to pick something "with a good atmosphere" and of course good food. Tosca didn't disappoint. Food was awesome (my guest stated the best tomato soup he ever had), the two person T-bone special (order the Tosca sauce on the side if you have steak, it is really good) and the wine pairing were great, too. We will both be back!
Haven't been here in a while and it was great to be back. Bartenders are great and the service and meal was a delight. I highly recommend the veal cutlet dish (it was difficult to pass up on the Boar Bolognese - but I had to try to mix it up for once)
Another fabulous dining experience.
We have been to Toscas many times and it never disappoints! There is always some wonderful combination of delightful and tasty dishes that surprise even foodies like us. Couple that with patient and observant wait staff and a wine list that is robust and it has the makings of a special evening. We went with friends who hadn't been there before and they echoed my comments. And finally, even though I rarely order dessert, for me this is another must at Toscas because of the care taken to make something to end the meal as spectacular as the way it starts.
A nice lively low lit Italian restaurant that is great for big groups or a date night. Well decorated, high ceilings, a good mix of classic features with modern touches... i found it really nice. The food was great. We loved the salads as well as the entrees. Brussel Sprout salad, green risotto, and the filet were particularly good. I actually liked the wine tablet, I found it really handy and was a good way to get a good wine list with descriptions etc without having a big hard to read book. The service was mediocre as it seemed our server was more interested in flirting with the other servers than working, but hey, can't blame a guy too much.
One of the best meals I've had in awhile. I love Cafe Tosca but Tosca is a step above. A restaurant that is a must for a special occassion.
Tosca is a consistently excellent restaurant. Great food, nice atmosphere and wonderful service!
Superb food and excellent service. A little noisy but not overbearing. Great atmosphere. A favorite.
I made the reservation to celebrate my fiancée’s birthday with some of her closest friends. We recently moved to the area and I was looking to try somewhere new - but I knew it had to be Italian cuisine. After doing some research, I stumbled upon Tosca. From start to finish, everything was great! They accommodated a change in the size of the party and our server was AMAZING (I’m still not sure how he remembered everyone’s order and did not get anything mixed up). We ordered salad, pizza, and pasta dishes and everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. I honestly couldn’t ask for better ambiance. This time was for a larger party, but I saw plenty of families and couples on dates. I would honestly recommend Tosca for any occasion. I can’t wait to return in the future!
This was our fourth time here and we came for valentines. The meal was not impressive. The fish tasted frozen. The oysters were too pickle. The soup came out Luke warm. This was not good. Desert was good though
Valetine's Day is always a challenge for restaurants who are fully booked with diners who have the highest expectations for a memorable evening. Tosca most certainly met this challenge. The service was impeccable and the food was beautifully prepared and presented.
I was skeptical when I booked this reservation, expecting another packaged restaurant holiday dining experience. However, the full menu was available along with several special dishes created for the holiday including a caramelized bay scallops in a cream sauce accented by chorizo and served on a base of mashed sweet potatoes. And amazingly creative combination that surprised and delighted. Also, for Valentine's day, among the desert choices was a flaming baked Alaska over red velvet cake which we watched being served to a couple at a nearby table. I can only assume that it was as delicious as it was spectacular.
It's worth commenting on the interior design of Tosca. It is in an old brick industrial building with original heavy-timber mill trusses. One has to look closely to see some subtle structural modification like a steel beam which incorporated to create a larger open area for the main dining room. The designer worked hard to preserve the feel of the original building and to make a welcoming and engaging space. The fully-stocked (and fully-occupied) bar contributed to an atmosphere of convivial enjoyment.
Had dinner at Tosca on Valentine’s night and as always, a fabulous meal. So nice not to have to make the trek into Boston to get top quality food, service and atmosphere!
My husband and I had dinner here on Valentine's Day. We both ordered one of the specials and both were
We also had a special salad that was equally yummy.
Add a nice bottle of wine along with not feeling rushed and it was a perfect night out!
Consistently excellent. For 30 years, a restaurant to which we can confidently host friends from any city. My wife’s favorite, chicken under a brick, and scallops for me — do not disappoint. Also some creative drinks to choose from for fun.
The restaurant was really nice and the service was excellent.
However, I think the special for the evening was a bit overpriced (Price was not made known to us; had we known that it was this pricey, we would have made a different choice)
Although the ambiance was nice, the lighting was far too low which made it very difficult to read the menu and had to use my phone flashlight to see.
Overall, a very nice evening!
A little pricey for meal
Size and a bit loud
We were very much looking forward to our dinner at Tosca. I made a reservation many days ahead of time. We were sat at a table that was wedged in between 3 other sections. I had a lampshade a foot from my head and I couldn’t move my chair an inch without bumping into other people. The table was obviously squished into this space. The only sides that could have people sat at it left us facing the area the waiters and waitresses congregate. Wait staff was in and out around our table the entire time we dined. It was very distracting and disappointing. I felt trapped. Not what we expected for our rare date night out. Especially since we drove 45 minutes to dine here as a special treat. We hadn’t been since before we had kids and wanted a special evening.
We have been Tosca diners for years. We are never disappointed
The staff was really attentive and efficient. Our waitress was great with recommendations and really knew the dishes. The food was delicious. It was a crowded night so the noise level was a bit high. But I will definitely return. Side note, the chocolate bread was amazing!!
Tosca never disappoints. The scallops were delectable as always and the cosmopolitans are my favorite around town.
Always good. Our favorite place to dine
We are fairly frequent visitors to Tosca and our meals are generally very good to excellent. Unfortunately, last Saturday night was an exception. I ordered bay scallops that were overcooked and not flavorful. They came atop some pasta that was bland and texturally just plain odd. I also has my favorite dish, risotto verde. It really turned out to be risotto and cheese. A little bit is ok but this was way too much. My husband had a filet that was fine but his garlic mashed potatoes were so salty as to be inedible. I’m really not writing this by way of a complaint, more of a heads-up. All restaurants have off nights but if there’s some change taking place in the kitchen, the manager and chef should be aware of what’s happening.
I was there the same day as a prior reviewer and had one of the best meals of my life!
Lamb chops are fabulous and I’m addicted to their lemon ricotta raviolis. Highly recommend !
Tosca was perfect, as always. Butternut squash soup was amazing, as was skirt steak panzanella salad. The steak here is always perfect.
My favorite restaurant in the world. Birthday tradition from age 20-40. Service, food, ambiance, wine, setting. Love Tosca
First time, pleasantly surprised. Food truly outstanding (and abundant). Mushroom pate: ordered on a whim and ended up with wow! Special ravioli. Scrumtious chicken dish. "Creative Traditional" if that could be a category. Server, Tim: superb... very professional, yet warm; good - humored; very aware and sensitive to individual needs, such as pacing; knowledgable, helpful, present/available. Looking forward to returning, though it's far. Highly positive experience.
It was very nice
Excellent service David was our server. He made great suggestions for dinner. Highly recommended
Creative menu items, and as delicious as they are unusual!
As always, the food, service, and ambiance was phenomenal. Tosca used to be our go-to for celebration dinners and entertaining clients, and even just for a great meal out. Never disappoints. ❤️
Food and service excellent as usual. That is why we continue to return.
