Trattoria San Pietro
Had a great meal with friends. Always enjoy eating there.
San Pietro continues to be the best restaurant in our area. The food, service and ambiance are top notch - essentially what you would expect in Boston but nearby on the South Shore, with reasonable South Shore pricing. Saturday night was great and probably 3/4 full. I'm of course concerned about where things go from here in the state-wide shutdown but I encourage folks to order take-out. You can still have that fantastic food and help make sure it's still there when the world opens back up. I know we'll be coming by.
Third time eating here and this is still the loudest restaurant I have ever been in. No sound absorption anywhere on the walls or ceilings. The food has always been very good here and service excellent. This time the service was spotty. Tough seeing our waitress for a 2nd drink or to get a wine menu or desert.
Aside from that it was still a good meal.
Food was fabulous so flavorful.staff is so nice they don’t rush you
Great as always! Never had a bad meal there!
Wonderful night !!! Service was absolutely fantastic! Dennis was amazing he is professional, helpful , and very attentive!!! He made us feel as if we were the only ones there !! Hostess was so warm and welcoming ! We were seated quickly ! 5 plus stars!
I’ve passed this restaurant at least once a week for almost 12 years and never gone in. So glad I finally made it! Great service. We ordered 4 dishes and a salad and we shared everything. No one was disappointed. Scallops were cooked perfectly, the mushroom risotto had large delicious pieces of mushroom and the grilled shrimp was “shrimptious!” One little note, they have a bright rotating dessert case just outside the dining room and when it is opened, the light floods out hitting certain tables. Not a big deal at all, but it doesn’t fit in with the warm, comfortable atmosphere. Otherwise, it was a perfectly lovely evening and we will definitely return!
Charming atmosphere. Food was really good. We went on a Sunday so it wasn’t very crowded. I return.
To much pepper in all 4 dishes that were ordered.
The food and service was amazing! We got the antipasto for 2 as an app and it was to die for! We also got the pork chops and the salmon special. We ate every bite! To end we each had an espresso martini and it was one of the best martinis we’ve ever had! They use fresh espresso instead of espresso vodka which makes a huge difference. I highly recommend Trattoria!
This is our go to restaurant for special occasions. The salad special is not to be missed. Food is great! Excellent wine list! We never order dessert but there are plenty of delicious options for those who do.
Overall is was a good experience. Wine by the glass selection was not very good though. Food was fine.
We went on Valentine's Day, and it was an awesome experience. The food and service were outstanding. We're psyched to go back.
Lovely food, easy in and out. A little busy but that's because it's good.
Fantastic time on Valentine's Day. Wish they hadn't got rid of the Dessert Tree !!
Food was absolutely amazing! Could not have asked for a better meal or service!!! Gave out roses to all the girls on valentine’s day, I loved it!
Consistently good food and service. Nice cozy atmosphere.
Sat at a table that was placed so that it was difficult to sit as to many tables. Obviously added table rocked. Table beside was impossible for anyone to access. Eventually we had to endure 15 minutes of ducking as furniture was moved over us to rearrange tables for parties. Never an excuse me. Pardon the intrusion. Nope. Manager at desk participated in the fiasco along with someone in a vest.
Waitress had to be asked several times to level table. She managed to spill wine on me, the menu and the floor while pouring. She did try but must have been very new.
Vegetables while interesting were overcooked. Had to wait 25 minutes for meals to be served.
Doubt we will ever go back and certainly will not recommend to friends. The desk manager really needs to understand customer service.
great northern italian, well priced wines, great service, friendly staff
Small martinis for the price. They should when they weather gets better make the outside dining more inviting we love the place and eat outside whenever possible and that patio area is a goldmine if they made the outside dining more appealing!!!
Love Amy she’s a great hostess and Dennis!!!
Hi Dolly! Thank you for the suggestion about the patio! I am talking with the landlord about a renovation out there so that project is in the works!! Amy and Dennis are amazing and thank you for the compliment! Our Martini glasses are 10 oz, which are quite large and much bigger than most restaurants. We make the best espresso martini anywhere!!! It's worth every penny!!
This is our absolute favorite restaurant. The quality of the food is the best. The staff it's always pleasant and accommodating. We love it here.
The food and service are always good at Trattoria San Pietro . The four of us had a relaxing and enjoyable night. They could use a few vegetarian dishes.
As usual...EXCELLENT food, great service.
Meal was amazing, deserts lacking, seemed like they were prepared days in advance and taken from the freezer. Also, tables way too close, felt like I was eating in a rooming house. Service was great
Yes, but only if they did not have to wait and wait and wait for their main course-- as we did, unfortunately, this past Saturday evening.
Wrong meal delivered once. Sides were wrong on that same meal. Service was very slow. Food was great though. Will be back.
One of our favroite restaurants for many years. The founder did a great job transitioning the business to his daughters.
We made a last minute reservation for a restaurant near by, and having lived near by this restaurant we decided to try it after 5 years. Walked in and was greeted 15mins before reservation and was informed table would be ready shortly, we lucked out and went to grab a drink and two seats opened at the bar. We grabbed those and then began our culinary adventure..
bartender made two great cocktails
we shared a zucchini blossom with cheese-delicious all around enjoyed our drinks and amuse bouche
Second course was a Cesar salad and scampi on bruschetta
dinner was a seared tuna with grilled vegetables and veal Milanese
Both fantastic meals
Only potential negative feedback. Was there was lost of garlic in some dishes for some there could be more others it’s perfect... I will say mine was perfect but plentiful..
Will be going back !!
Went early - great waitstaff!!
The food is always delicious, the service is impeccable. Beautiful ambience. Feels like you are in Boston or even Italy!
Enjoyed this restaurant very much. It will be a favorite go to place for special occasions or just a night out. I had salmon and my husband had lobster ravioli and both meals were outstanding. The service was very helpful and attentive.
The pork chops were better the last time we were there. Service was great!
It was a great meal and night as usual, They never disappoint.
We decided to bring our children for my wifes 42 birthday dinner at San Pietro. We received looks from various people as to why we would bring children into this restaurant. This didn't seem right.
The waitress offered to allow my 4 yr olds to split a full meal which we did. But they made it clear the kitchen is not very accommodating when it comes to requests to deviate from the written menu.
Food was overall OK. There are better Chix Parmesean dishes on the south shore for $18 or less so pricing at $23 is too much.
Hello Ryan, I feel the need to respond to your review because it is not a true representation of our restaurant. We have been a restaurant in Norwell since 1991 and most of our loyal guests are people with families. In fact, all of our bus kids are children of our most loyal customers. I'm sorry that you felt that you received looks by various people but I can assure you that my staff are used to waiting on families and children of all ages.
I would recommend Trattoria San Pietro with pleasure. The restaurant is beautiful and well decorated. The service was friendly and we did not feel rushed. Most importantly, the food was excellent and well prepared. We appreciated the large variety on the menu and would like to return to try other dishes.
Excellent specials and pasta dishes. A bit noisy when when full.
This used to be a favorite, however has gone downhill. From drinks to desserts, quality has dropped. Anorexic lamb, oversweet and dry desserts, mediocre service. I'm so disappointed because I brought VIPs and was let down. Too many other very good restaurants around.
We (a group of 4) have been dining here on New Years Eve for 5 + years. Service and food quality have always been good. This year however we found the experience disappointing. Tables were pushed together so the waitstaff and customers had a very hard time trying to get to and from tables. Service was very slow and it appeared that almost all of the staff didn't want to be there. The hostess was great but after that there were no smiles or friendly greetings. Two of our four meals were just OK and two were almost not edible (over done and dry). Two of us had wine that tasted as if it had gone bad. We asked for another glass which was OK. The problem was our meal was almost over before we received the replacement and both were on our bill even though we told our waitress one was bad. Lastly the noise level was so loud (because of the added tables/customers?) that we couldn't have any conversations nor could we hear our waitress and she couldn't her us. Once again I'm sorry to say we are very disappointed and will not be back.
good food, will recommend and return on a quieter nite than NYE
