I brought my friend here for her birthday and got the pre-fixe menu for $39. This is generally a good deal for anywhere in San Francisco, but the food was hit or miss. There are 2 options for each course and my friend and I shared every item on the menu.
Some dishes were complete misses with the flavors not complementing each other (i.e. they had one ingredient that just threw the dish off) and some would be good. Everything seemed to be pumpkin themed which after a couple courses gets tiring.
The ambiance and decor were nice and they are thoughtful when it comes to celebrations.
The service at Trestle was amazing! We were sat a few minutes before our reservation time and promptly attended. The food was delicious and the wine selection was impressive. I highly recommend for a date night!
The best gem in the whole neighborhood! I love coming to trestle for the excellent food, wonderful service and beautiful ambiance. It is also very affordable for the quality that you receive.
Can I get a witness?!?!?
Worth every penny. Grab an old friend and have a slow dinner and a great chat.
It was different... not bad, but not a wow either
Pleasantly surprised on the twist they can do for pumpkins
Creative. Inspired. Delicious. Impeccable service. My happy place!
Their fish is always spot on! Awesome experience every time. Great value for a date night.
This restaurant touts itself as being a great value- three courses for only $39. I had an awkward experience in that in the dim lighting, I didn't notice that one of the courses was an extra charge. Between that course, sparkling water, and one glass of wine, the dinner ended up being somewhere around $90 per person. I thought it was a mistake and called in. They went over the bill with me to show it wasn't a mistake and offered to take off the price of the additional course. I was embarassed and said "That's okay." The host or manager responded, "Well, if you change your mind, let us know." (Meh.)
Though the portions were on the tapas petite side, the food was nicely prepared. The service was efficient but not particularly friendly.
I was truly looking forward to trying this restaurant but likely would not return.
I’ve had great dinners at Trestle and talked it up to my boyfriend. Have to say it was disappointing. The service was very slow, and especially considering there are only limited options on the menu. The food was just okay. The first course was very good. Pasta was strange- the egg dominated the dish - and didn’t have much flavor. Squid ink risotto was ok. The rest of the meal was fine but felt the wow factor in the overall experience wasn’t per usual.
Love Trestle! Always great food, service, and value!
I was so impressed by the quality versus the price. It was only $49 for a four-course gourmet meal. Three of the courses were very good and one of the courses (the pasta), was phenomenal.
Had an amazing meal with a couple friends at Trestle on Monday. The stand out dish was a coconut and shrimp risotto although everything stood up to our taste test. Also Shaun Livingston (formerly of the Golden State Warriors) sat right next to us! Very cool experience overall
Food was too fat especially main course was not great quality.
Thank you Trestle staff. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We had an amazing bottle of wine from Austria. Our waiter seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. The pasta add-ons were incredible. Thank you for making it special.
Great place to go. A little noice because it's a small place. Good and services excelent.
We'll return again
a restaurant definitely catering to "young people" with lots of money to spend....very very noisy, no consideration of people sitting so close to you on either side of your table! This is a problem for this restaurant if they want to attract more of a clientele especially from the neighborhood. Wines are way overpriced for a half pour! Food was well-prepared, with ample portion size; although in my opinion I prefer more of a choice than salmon and pork belly. Courses served way too quickly, for my liking, Waiters kept wanting to take our plates away and we weren't finished with the course! This restaurant needs to change the menu more often with more options if they want repeat customers. They would be wise to move some of the tables for 2 further apart to allow for some conversation! If you want a party place for high-priced food and wines and lots of noise, this is the place to go! If not, choose another restaurant!
Trestle is one of the best dinners in the City. Fantastic food, fantastic service, and a fantastic value.
This is one restaurant that you should seek out and experience. Reservations are recommended and easy via Open Table. I booked this Prix Fixe dinner for my wife's birthday. We had just taken a Sunset sail and figured that it tough to top that experience but this was even better than can be imagined. Parking was easy as a garage was right next door. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. They even presented my wife with a birthday note from the owner and staff. A great touch. This restaurant has a prix fixe meal of 3 courses for $39 with an add on pasta at $10. For $49, you have a choice of two appetizers, 2 mains, and two desserts and you can pasta for $10 and you have two choices. My wife and I added the pasta course and we sampled all the choice being offered. We started with an Heirloom tomato salad and the Red Pepper soup. Both were outstanding and unique but the soup on a cold night was perfect, with some peppers and croutons neatly diced in a bowl before being served tableside. The next course, optional, brought a Linguine E PEPE and a Chestnut Risotto. The chestnut Risotto was the star of this course with its rich and creamy texture. The mains followed with a Crispy Skinned Salmon and Seared Pork Belly. Both outstanding and just the right size. I would order the Pork Belly again and again. Great Combination. The desserts followed and again were top-notch as we had a Kuri Squash Pie and Chocolate Cremeux. Both were tasty but the chocolate was impressive. We ended with coffee. The wine list is great but corkage is reasonable when compared to other San Francisco prices. You should also ask for bread and butter which was very tasty and fit with the other courses. This restaurant is an amazingly priced experience for a special occasion or a once a week experience. It is a little off the beaten track but worth finding. Their menu updates are almost daily with its farm to tab
First time at Trestle, and loved our dinner there! Amazing value with three courses for $39, and terrific diversity across the three courses despite only two choices per course. They were relaxed about swapping in a pasta course instead of the main course, which was appreciated. Will definitely be back!
I love eating at Trestle. The food is always just a baby step before total high end gourmet. The bill is an amazing surprise in that, for SF prices and that it is a fixed price meal. The staff are attentive and friendly. I will be going back often.
Fresh, excellent food!
🍲 I read in many reviews that the portions were small but I didn't think so. We still ordered the pasta and didn't regret it: they were so tasty!
🍺 Take the time to look at the drink menu: they have beers from all over Europe.
🙋🏻♀️ Service is very kind and efficient.
📢 As a French, I find most American restaurants are almost unbearable because of the noise but Trestle is actually almost quiet for American standards.
💞 Perfect for a date night, double date night or a night out with 4+ friends.
Trestles was off this time. The food was good in general but the pastas were loaded with butter and cheese. The chocolate dessert mouse was too sweet. For some strange reason, the service was quick to bring out the food but they would forget everything else you need (such as pepper and extra drink).
We loved it! It was a small, chic neighborhood place with a Prix fix menu of 4 courses, each with 2 choices. All were tempting on the night we were there. The squash risotto was our favorite. The wine list has many interesting choices at reasonable prices. I will highly recommend to friends.
Excellent value and cozy atmosphere. Very high value.
Went to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing but the portions are small. Definitely add at least one pasta to your dinner. Great wines too!
one of the top 5 restaurants I have been to this year
I brought my parents, aunt, and cousin here (for the first time) and they absolutely loved it. I have been here multiple times and will definitely be back!
Phenomenal food, wine and service!
They were attentive. I ordered a bottle of white wine and they always checked up on you to see if you need a refill
Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic value.
The service here was outstanding! Food was incredible, every dish had so much flavor and was so fresh. The timing of receiving each dish was perfect and the waitstaff was very attentive. We left very satisfied and very full. This will become a regular when visiting San Francisco!
A delicious, comforting, hearty and well crafted meal for a price that is very reasonable. A very enjoyable experience overall.
Best dinner we have had in a long time!
Trestle was INCREDIBLE. We had the best time, each dish was delicious and so unique. Get the pastas!!! Staff was so friendly, loved it and will go back!!
Fantastic food at an exceptional price with excellent service.
I love Trestle! It's a fancy dining experience at a great value, so I always tip well! If you're not gluten sensitive, I highly recommend ordering the bread at the start of your meal (the butter and salt is sooo fresh).
Only down 1 star because of some technical things —sometimes you'll have to wait, despite having a reservation. Also it gets REALLY hot in here because there's hardly any ventilation. Wouldn't go on a first date here, personally, because I always feel like I leave kind of steamy. It also gets pretty loud in here, because it's packed! But, always fun and I genuine leave STUFFED no matter if I order extra or not.
So much fun!
Love the concept. Great food, good selection of wine and beer and outstanding service!
Food, value, service, and ambiance was great!! The only problem I had was that the tables were so close that my partner and I found it “too close for comfort.”
As always, Trestle does not disappoint. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful with food and wine selections. The menu is streamlined with great options for all. It is a small dining room so be prepared to get cozy!
