Tuscany - Wheeling
We were celebrating our 3rd Anniversary. We had our wedding there. We both enjoyed the calamari appetizer. My husband had Chicken Parmesan and I had the server's recommendation Veal Chop Parmesan, which both of us are still enjoying due to the doggie bags we left with.
We ordered the small portion desserts of Spumoni and Creme Brulee which was brought out on a plate decorated with Happy Anniversary. They went out of their way to make sure our night was special.
I've been to Tuscany a few times but never had a visit like this one. A party that was similar in size and name called to cancel their reservation, and the restaurant cancelled our reservation instead.
Much more importantly, our server was incredibly rude, unfriendly and entirely bothered by our visit. She could not have been more icy. Every request was treated as a bother, she did not smile and she never checked on how our food was or how we were doing. I'm not sure why she's in this line of work and how Tuscany continues to allow her to serve in this capacity.
All three of us had different entrees and all three of us thought they were wonderful.
Everything was perfect!
We had a terrific meal with outstanding service. The server was knowledgeable about the menu items and was very attentive. The noise level got to be a challenge as the evening progressed, but it is a popular place!
Mario our waiter was fabulous he went above and beyond to make my husband's birthday dinner a wonderful experience. Food was delicious.
Nice dinner with friend in an atmosphere that allowed us to talk and catch up. Very good food, with two orders of Ravioli Pera (with butter sage sauce rather than mascarpone cream sauce) and two orders of Eggplant Parmesan. The weak spot was the service, as it seemed that our server may have been stretched a little too thin.
Very impressed with the ambiance of this restaurant. Food and service were very good. Will visit this restaurant again.
Happily surprised by how good the food was, and how decent the total bill was.
The food lacked flavor and was, at best, unremarkable. The only bright spot was our server who was very attentive, cordial and professional.
Our standard reservation request is that we be placed in as quiet a spot and/or booth including in the bar area. Instead, we were sitting close to the bathrooms, it smelled like it too, and yet the bar area was virtually empty. I also indicated that it was our anniversary. No mention, nothing. Do they even read those notes? Because most other restaurants do read them.
Too bad because Tuscany used to be a nice place.
Tuscany was a great location for me to reconnect with childhood friends and their wives. The food and service were outstanding. We were not rushed, and we were able to carry on great conversation for several hours. This is definitely a place to take someone for Date Night.
The service was kind of slow.
Fantastic service and Bianca nieve cake, lasagna and house salad..and ice tea is fantastic..managers very nice over the last 15 years..great job..thanks!
Great food!! Great service!
We have been here 4 times in last 3 months. Service was not up to the quality we have come to expect from Tuscany. I ordered lasagna and was terribly disappointed, way to much pasta. There were layers, and layers of pasta and very sparse meat sauce. I took much of the pasta off my plate.
We just got back from a trip in Canada and I had lasagna there two times and it was way better the dish at Tuscany.
We have friends in from St. Louis. They love their food it was a beautiful evening thank you
The food was very good, but I do not think that our server, Jose, had been properly trained. While mashing the roasted garlic, he spilled some on my pant leg; he quickly got a towel and wiped the pants clean, but he never offered to pay for dry cleaning or compted anything due to his error. It seems to me that he should have made up for it in some fashion, and that should have been a part of his training. Also, I had to ask for a wine glass three different times before he finally caught on to what I wanted; he forgot once, and the second time, he said he would be right back, but he apparently misunderstood me and brought the wine list back to me. He is a very nice man, but, again, he needed more training.
A wonderful experience; you feel like you could be in Italy. We would go back again anytime!
We always enjoy the great food. I like that they always have a choice of different fishes. Hard to decide on a fish choice or one of the great pastas. Would like to see as an appetizer the raw tuna tartare which I enjoyed once there but it is on the menu at The location In Lincolnwood.
We were there for our 50th Anniversary!
Service was extremely slow, we had to ask to gave dishes removed from our table. Ordered our second bottle of wine, 15 minutes later we had to ask again!
The manager came over and compt our appetizers.
Food was great though, but they need to hire more people on a Saturday night.
Food took very long to come. Service very poor
We went for lunch. It was quiet and had people, but not too crowded. We both liked our entree's of risotto and braised beef. The wait staff at lunch was OK. Not that friendly. The host was nice though so it made up for lack of personality. We would go again.
This is a consistent restaurant.
Cocktails are poured a bit light, Wines are a bit generic and a few percents too costly.
Meals are reasonable value for the quality if preparation and presentation.
Food is always very good, service also, but both food and service suffer when they're busy.
Definitely recommended for lunch and off of prime time
One of our favorites to bring family/guests. Food is always good, service is always good. You will see us again!
Sat outside for a great dinner taking advantage of the nice weather for a change. Service was attentive and food was great. Always a place to return!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Tuscany. We sat on the patio on a beautiful summer evening. Quiet atmosphere. Great service. Beautifully presented meal. Definitely upscale...maybe more so than we are used to, but made for a very special evening. Would go a gain for a special evening and will/have told others.
Delicious food. Great service. Don’t miss the
I love their minestrone soup. My husband loves their four cheese risotto and my son the profiteroles. Don’t order fish - this isn’t a fish place. My branzino had been frozen and reminded me of the mediocre fish filets in restaurants of my childhood.
Tuscany is a solid, Italian restaurant with much to recommend it. It has a nice, long, wood bar with an appealing range of wine and liquor - great to either hang at and enjoy a few rounds w/ appetizers or as prelude to your dinner. They don't carry an extensive list of craft beers. The food is always well prepared using quality ingredients. I've been eating here periodically for many years and have never had a bad meal. That said, their prices have steadily risen over time, so it's not for the budget conscious. Entrees start at $18 for a few of their pasta selections and go up to the low-mid$40 range for rack of lamb or a grilled veal chop. We did recently happen in on a 1/2 price bottle of wine night and that provided us a really nice value liquor tab. If you're good with the price range, come, mangia, enjoy!
Our group of 10 had delicious food in a great atmosphere. Our circular table made it so all felt included in the conversations. Everyone enjoyed and wanted to make Tuscany a regular for our women's group dinners.
Excellent food and a very friendly server made for a great evening!
Great Time. Food and Service was Great!
Blackened Salmon is fabulous. The service is also top notch. Carlos behind the bar is amazing. Very attentive and helps make the experience a 10. See u soon.
Delicious meal. Great service. So nice to be recognized as a returning diner. Don’t pass on the Blanca neve
sponge cake with white chocolate mouse. Yummy!
Our waiter was extremely nice...always with a smile on his face. He divided one of our shared salads on to two plates. Very nice.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. Never have had a bad meal there, with the Dover Sole being an all time favorite.
We have been here with my parents and kids for Sunday dinner, for birthday dinners and lunch at the bar. The quality of food and service always makes a good impression.
