The Tuscarora Mill brunch is always top notch. I particularly like the sliced Roma tomatoes which are great even in the winter. Omelets are well prepared and tasty. Wait staff are attentive and friendly. My wife loves the shrimp and grits. Potato salad reminds us of what grandma used to make. Bacon is the best I have ever had at a brunch. Well worth the 45 minute drive get there.
Tuscarora Mill is a solid traditional restaurant. Great service, look and feel. But when it comes to food, there is nothing memorable, except apple cobbler that I will definitely recommend.
Did Sunday brunch here and it was fantastic, as usual. I typically do work lunches here however this was for getting together with friends. Overall, the food was great and consistently replenished when they ran low. The shrimp and grits or my personal favorite, and the omelette station had a large amount of choices for fillings. Plenty of food for kids to eat as well, as I brought my one year-old and she crushed pretty much everything in front of her. The Sunday brunch drinks menu was also very good, I particularly liked spicy jalapeño margarita while my friends wife got various types of mimosas that she enjoyed as well.
“Tuskies” was phenomenal! We had heard from several friends that it was really good, and it still far exceeded our expectations. After recently moving from the DC area where good dining is somewhat easy to find, we are so happy to have found a restaurant in Leesburg that could easily compete in the fine dining realm found in the district. We can’t wait to return soon!
We visited this restaurant a few years ago (several times) and always enjoyed it. Well, it is now overly commercialized and the food quality and overall experience has declined greatly. We started off with cocktails and then ordered the corn chowder. It came out right away, but was barely warm. We were starving so didn't say anything. We ordered our entrees and a bottle of wine. The entrees came out within a few minutes, but no wine yet. Everything was feeling very rushed all of a sudden. My husband ordered the branzino and it was average at best. I ordered seafood stew in a tomato broth. It was more like a tomato soup, rather than a broth and the flavor was not pleasant tasting at all. I have had cioppino and seafood stews several times at other restaurants. This one was almost inedible. It also did not come with any bread of toast. We ordered some and were charged extra. I should have sent the entree back, but with the wine mix up and the cold soup, everything else I pretty much was just done. I left over 1/2 of the entree and we decided to share a dessert. The pound cake with blueberries was the best thing we had all night. We then took the rest of our wine and left. It was definitely not the romantic, slow-paced, gourmet dinner that we had expected based on past experiences. We will not visit here again.
The food, as usual, was excellent. Service was second rate at best. A management problem. Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful, efficient and courteous, but was covering waaay too many tables. Couldn’t get her attention when needed. Wanted dessert & coffee but couldn’t get her attention to take our order. After considerable wait, decided to pass on dessert and get the check. Still couldn’t get her attention so grabbed a passing hostess to get our check. Management isn’t paying attention to operations in the dining area.
Great food and service. The seafood salad was incredible.
The appetizer, salad, and one of the entrées were spot on, but the Haddick entrée needed more sauce to pick it up a little bit. Would not normally mention that but the entrées are fairly pricey so you expect close to perfection. That said I would definitely go again
Excellent location, meal, food selection, drinks, and service.
charming restaurant with a varied menu. Service was excellent without being overly intrusive. Noise level was acceptable. Easy parking either on the street or in their lot
From the personalized menu to the outstanding food to the anniversary gift we received when we left, everything far exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit to Tuscarora Mill, but it certainly won’t be our last...and we’ve told all of our friends!
Wonderful meal and great to have this level of restaurant in Leesburg.
I haved lived in Loudoun County for 30 years and have never been to Tuskies. First time was this past weekend for my wife and I and we were completely blown away! The food was beyond heavinly, the staff was 5 star and with out a doubt, this wil lbe our once per month after Church brunch place!
WE had out of town guests and took them to the Sunday Brunch/ Our waiter, Mark, was outstanding!!! Even though the brunch per person is pricey the food variety was unbelievable and the quality was outstanding.. The ambiance was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and know you will not be disappointed.
The brunch is absolutely incredible!! The food is fresh, super flavorful, and selection is not overwhelming. Service is impeccable!
Wonderful dining experience at Tuscarora Mill. They made personal menus wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The service waa waa fabulous, food was amazing and the whole experience from start to finish was perfect.
Love Tuskies! As usual, the food and service was excellent! Took my daughter there for her birthday. When we ordered dessert I said to her, “Darn, I forgot a candle”. The waiter brought out her desert with a candle for her to blow out, wished her a happy birthday and gave her a wine glass filled with candy. She was so pleased it wasn’t a big singing recognition of her birthday.
Server seemed to have to many tables so he was very rushed and a little rude. Bread was delicious as was dessert.
The cold apple and kale soup was delicious
When the reservation was made, I checked off that there was a birthday. I assumed this restaurant wanted to know this - and perhaps offer a complimentary birthday dessert or appetizer.
Nothing was offered. Not sure, why the question was asked.
The food was great. Whenever my wife and I decided to share a dish, they went through the trouble of splitting it for us. The server was very patient and thorough in his explanation of the different dishes. It was a nice little spot to celebrate our anniversary.
Hadn't been to Tuskies in awhile but it was like coming to a friend's home for dinner. Staff greeted us like special guests and made us feel guilty that we'd been away so long. Everything was just as wonderful as we could have expected from cocktails to dessert. Excellent dinner and we must not wait so long to return!
The food and service was amazing and the restaurant itself was super cute! I would highly recommend!
We went there for our anniversary, and the meals were excellent. And we had bread pudding for dessert... it was just exceptionally delicious.
Went there to celebrate my birthday. Food was delicious and service outstanding.
We heard about Tuscarora Mill from an article listing the top 20 restaurants in Loudoun County. We’re so glad we did! The restaurant is inside the original mill and the ambience it creates is both warm and welcoming. The food was fantastic. I started out with the soup of the day which was a smokey mushroom bisque. It was everything you would want in a real bisque and I finished it all! My main course was the beef and scallops. The beef was filet tips and they were mouth watering. The scallops were butter soft and full of flavor. My husband had the ribeye and he said it was fantastic as well. We both intended to try dessert, but were so full from dinner that we just had no room. It was one of those meals that you realize you are full about 12 bites before you stop eating because you just don’t want to stop the party your tastebuds are having!
Sunday brunch food choices were excellent as was the service. We always enjoy coming here for special occasions or when we have guests visiting. We are never disappointed!
We have been having Sunday brunch for nearly 5 years and we want to make it well known that our server Mark is truly outstanding and all of the services he provides during our brunch. He is absolutely the best.
As always food and service was exceptional. Have never had a bad meal here. Have been for dinner, lunch and Sunday brunch and never have we been disappointed.
We loved our dinner! Very fun place for my husbands birthday.
The service staff is so well trained! They know their products and are very pleasant and professional!
Interesting and exciting menu options. Generous portions.
We have been there many times. The food is always delicious.
This is one of the very few times when service was poor. Our waiter was obviously in a hurry to get out and was rushing us including trying to take my place before I was finished.
Don't take reservations at 2 PM if you plan on closing early and are not willing to let clients relax. It should have been mentioned that you were closing early for the 4th of July instead of coming to the door to see a note that you were closing at 2 pm. I was told that it was fine and we would not be asked to leave and there were other people there but the waiter made it clear that he wanted us to be out as fast as possible. It turned into what we thought would be a nice, relaxing lunch into an unpleasant experience.
Great service, food and attention to detail. We were there for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. They had a menus set on the table with a birthday message on it, our daughter’s booster seat, kids menu and kid friendly water cup already set up and the waiter greeted us with a sincere happy birthday when we arrived. It was all greatly appreciated. Even went home w a complimentary wine glass with candy and the menus rolled up for us.
Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Tuscarora Mill and could not have made a better choice. The entire experience was fantastic, from the personalized menus to the anniversary gifts. Our server was attentive, but did not hover, and was spot on with recommendations. The food was precisely prepared and even though we requested modifications to each dish, the staff got everything right. Perfect evening.
This is a charming restaurant just a block below historic Leesburg that offers convenient parking. I was meeting a friend for lunch, and we had a somewhat private booth making it comfortable for us to chat without being overheard or disrupted by other diners. There appeared to be at least three other seating areas as well. The service was excellent and the sandwiches fresh and tasty. I would definitely go back!
Meal had been better in the past. My mother liked the attention and her steak salad was great. Corn chowder a true winner. Fruit salad w/shrimpWas mostly salad with very little shrimp and/or fruit. Mrs. Jay’s eggs Benedict was a little bit off this time. She said that usually it’s excellent but this time it wasn’t that good. Crème brûlée was excellent as always. Apple cobbler was outstanding.
Good food and fast and friendly service . Would definitely go back. I’m not a buffet person but the food was just as if you ordered from full menu.
Great Brunch as always. Promptly seated. Excellent selections. Glad to see shrimp and grits included.
