Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
Vancouver's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
I’ve been wanting to check out Cioppino’s forever and finally got the chance last night. We sat on the Enoteca side, which I actually found to be cozier and quieter so really enjoyed it. It was hard to choose from the menu because everything sounded delicious! Eventually I tried the smoked salmon appetizer (a special) and the spaghetti alla vongole. The salmon was cold smoked wonderfully and came with a variety of delicious sauces. The spaghetti was al dente—by the last few bites it felt a bit rich but the flavour was exactly what I’d expected. Two others at my table had the fettuccine bolognese and it was absolutely perfect. For dessert, we shared the milk chocolate panna cotta and the lemon tart—almost licked the plate clean on both! The only place I’ve had a lemon tart even close to as good has been at Lupo where they do a bit a of a brûlée on top. Our server was also great: knowledgeable about all the food, gave us recommendations and joked with us all night. Overall, would definitely recommend Cioppino’s and can’t wait to go back for more! A jewel of the West Coast, British Columbia’s capital city is known for its pristine seafood, modern architecture and stunning backyard mountains. Dungeness crab, wild salmon, dim sum, and creative fusion cuisine are popular picks among Vancouver’s culinary kaleidoscope. And as the birthplace of West Coast Modernism, Vancouver is a leader in sustainable design and philosophy. It comes as no surprise that responsibly sourced, local foods fill the plate, too. Vancouver is a proudly diverse city with a reported 40% of residents hailing from countries beyond Canadian borders.
