Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar
This places is so dependable! Have been there numerous times. Food is always good; service is reliable. Have brought out-of town guests here and it was well received.
Very nice restaurant with excellent food and quiet environment for a date.
Madison was great!
Food needs to be improved. My granddaughter order the Mac and cheese and side of meatballs. She loves Mac and cheese but said it taste very bland. I thought she was being picky. Later I tried the leftovers and she was right. It had no cheese in it but was swimming in a milk, flour base. My chopped salad was good and I ordered a shrimp add on. There was only 4 shrimp in it. My husband liked his pizza. The service was very good, though. Our server was very attentive.
The food was excellent! Best of all, the service was professional, warm and responsive!
The restaurant was good for my friend who needed gluten free options. However it was loud and crowded. The server seemed to find us a bother. He frequently walked away while we were mid-order, forgot things, seemed patronizing, and put his hand/arm in front of us to clear things without any warning.
Dinner was good and our server was attentive. Could have done without the music... too loud!
Overall very good. It is a little to dark for my old eyes. The bread was partially frozen but I didn’t say anything about it or in sure they would have fixed it.
Very nice place with very good food.
On a three day holiday. Searched for close by restaurants for lunch. So happy Open Table pointed out this place. Had great waitress, food and value. If we lived in the area this would be a regular stop.
Service was poor and some food was tasteless while some in our party thought the food was passable.
Outstanding service with Sarah as our waitress. Food was delicious, started with the crab cake app and the haddock special which was over a garlicky angel hair and broccoli spears.
Good food, quiet enough to have a chat with a friend. The waitress knew her stuff about the food and the wine list.
Always enjoy this restaurant but on this night the live music was definitely to loud. Everything else was great.
Homemade pasta no great shakes. No automatic water. No glasses with vans of beer. Rigatoni is glorified ziti.
We had a very lovely time. We’re in town to visit my boyfriend’s grandmother. The service and food were spectacular.
Absolutely the best restaurant I've ever been to. My wife and I can wait to go back again! Amazing food and service.
Haven't been there in a while, but I am glad we came back. Our flatbread, with pesto and sausage was delicious. Our dinners, Chicker Scarpetta and Spunach Fettucine were nicely done and just the tight portion. We shared a Flourless Chocolate Cake slice and the meal was definitely perfect. We will go again for sure.
I had made a reservation days in advance, yet when I arrived the hostess and two other people wanted to seat me at the bar. I asked for a table in the dining area since I had made a reservation and it took awhile for them to figure out if there were any tables open. This didn’t make any sense to me, as throughout the whole evening the restaurant never filled up, so there was no concern of large parties coming in. And why this took three people to figure out didn’t make sense either. My first moments made me feel like I had stepped into a restaurant run by amateurs. Once I was seated it took a very long time for a server to come over to our table. After she did arrive and took our drink order, another server came over to do the same. Communication wasn’t happening with the wait staff. When we did receive our food the appetizer we ordered, the bacon and bleu pizza was excellent. The best of the evening. Our drinks were sub-par, tasting as if they were mixed wrong. When asked about this and addressing it we were told they are supposed to be that way and nothing should be wrong. The entrees were not what I expected. The chicken marsala was poorly presented and lacking flavor. The presentation also lacked mushrooms which is part of the dish. Finally, dessert was horrendous. I ordered the tiramisu. The taste was dry and the presentation poorly done. It appeared that two small pieces were smushed together and a lot of whipped cream lumped in the middle. Overall I would not recommend eating here, especially for the price. There are much nicer Italian restaurants in the area that do a significantly better job with their service, staff communications, and much better food and presentation.
There was only one waitress working and she was unable to attend us in a efficient manner. We waited over an hour to receive our food and when we did 2 of the meatball parm sandwiches was not only the rolls burnt but they were also cold. One meatball parm sandwiches the meatballs were not cooked through. Even though the manager was quick to remove the items from our bill the overall experience was very poor.
I usually enjoy the Haddock bruschetta but this time it was very garlicky as well as floating in olive oil. Not very appetizing. Not sure if there is a new chef but would not order this dish again.
Food was ok. Server was friendly and helpful, however, it seemed to take a rather long time for our meals to arrive and the restaurant was almost empty. Ambiance is quite pleasant and the dining room was for the most part relatively quiet. I think this would be a better lunch/happy hour venue than a dinner location.
Great service. Food was very good as usual.
Ok place. Service was very, very slow. Food was decent. The service probably impacted my food rating.
Overall experience was par. Wait staff slow and confused. A/C was blasting on us and I am normally very warm. Food did not have much flavor kind of bland.
The piano and violin live music was a lovely experience, the food, however, was not. My friend ordered a steak frittata. Yesterday’s steak cut in large chunks and tossed haphazardly in some egg, even covered in a large swath of melted cheese, is never appetizing. I ordered the omelette with pancetta, mushroom, onion, and cheddar. While it very overcooked, the flavor was palatable. I could not finish it, however, as too much of a mediocre thing is just...mediocre. The moldy fruit that accompanied it was not an enhancement. The server was kind, and the manager forcefully friendly, but there weren’t easily accessible drink refills. The server had to be hunted down in order to pay the bill. Steer clear. Or eat the pizza. That looked good.
Service slow, nice waitress- previous visit service was poor rude female manager when I explained food was not hot, she asked if I wanted a free desert and I did not eat food. We have had mixed experiences so very hard rate. Not consistent
Food is ok.....very small shrimp in Scampi
Not very flavorful....prices are high for quality and portions
Food was not up to standards. Waiter was weird. Kept asking what we ordered. Lobster ravioli was not as it has been and that is all I usually order. Did something change. Told our friends.
Bad food bad service. Not impressed. Saratoga location is much better all around
Nice to go a restaurant with fresh, hot food and great service.
Great spot if u want your pup to join you. Outdoor terrace very dog friendly. Food and service good. Cheerful and prompt.
Happened there during Happy Hour. Great choices, reasonable prices and good drinks, 2 for 1
It was a busy night. Our food was served hot and was very good. Our waitress did her best to serve us as timely as possible.
It was first visit for me & my 30-something son. Our waiter was friendly & attentive. The seating was comfortable, although the restaurant was moderately noisy (6 pm on a Saturday). The menu had many interesting choices, but the food left a lot to be desired. My whole plate arrived at the table at room temperature. My meal consisted of prime rib, broccolini, & garlic mashed potatoes. The prime rib was too tough to cut with the serrated knife I was given. The broccolini was ok. The serving of garlic mashed potatoes contained 8 whole cloves of garlic! My son had ordered a strip steak. It was tender & well-seasoned, but was cooked medium, when he had expressly asked for it to be "as rare as you're allowed to serve it." His risotto was bland & his mixed vegetables ok, but nothing to brag about. The best thing we had was the appetizer arancini. It was delicious! We concluded that the problem was in the kitchen. I doubt we'll ever go back.
Food, wine and service were very good. Where we were seated, curtains to an adjacent area were hanging off their rod. A table near us was piled with dirty glasses for most of our meal. Ambiance was lacking.
Our server Tyler was awesome. The food overall was good but the Salmon my father had was a little over cooked and the Alfredo was somewhat bland.
The server was fantastic!
The wait for the food was an hour and a half and that’s with a reservation.
My dinner was a shrimp special of the night which was very greasy. One in my party said the meat was very dry. All are meals were just warm.
It will be a while before I return, if at all. Too bad too, I loved the ambiance.
Our wait time was like an hour on fathers day. I asked our waitress if the omelet had peppers on itwhen she was taking my order. She paused then said No in a firm tone. I cannot eat peppers or i would of said omit them if there was. After waiting like almost an hour guess what omelet frittata was covered in peppers . Major disappointment and starving too. My daughter asked for more water took 20 minutes . My daughter also ordered french toast 1/4 of it was black and burnt not edible. Really someone should be overlooking this service you provided on fathers day. Really ????? This was our second chance for wheatfields. Never going back just FYI. Waitress was not good at what she does.
Father’s Day brunch
Mother’s Day Disappointment. We know that Mothers Day is especially challenging at restaurants. We our made our reservation on Opentable for a party of 6. We later needed to increase it to 7. At that time they advised us that they were only serving a buffet for brunch. What a disappointment! The buffet was poorly organized and had limited choices. They had two personal stations.. one for carving - a roast; the other for omelettes. Of course, the omelette station was quite busy with only one chef and two pans at a time. By the time everyone sat down, the food was cold. The bacon was raw and sat in its grease; the quiche was cold as were the other selections. They had croissants... the only bread selection. Very disappointing for a $34/pp buffet which didn’t even include a cocktail. Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, etc were extra. We heard good things about the original restaurant in the City of Saratoga. Perhaps their Clifton Park location needs a fix?
