Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar
Tables are very close together. Wait staff couldn’t move between tables easily. Some food arrived cold
We weren’t aware that happy hour specials are only valid at the bar. We overpaid for salads and mixed drinks. Wish we knew ahead of time and we would’ve sat in the bar area.
Food was great and service was excellent- we will be back!
Birthday dinner for my daughter and my husband . Always go there when I am in Clifton park . Everything is always delicious and excellent service!
I've been to Wheatfields in the past and have been pleased with the food and service. This time we invited friends to join us and I must say I was downright embarrassed that we suggested this place. The salad was limp and didn't look fresh and the four different sandwiches we ordered left much to be desired. All four of us agreed it was subpar and we wouldn't return. Maybe it was just an off day.... I went home and had to make myself a sandwich...
The server acknowledged our special occasion of our anniversary when we were seated, but yet never made an effort to make the evening special with an offer of hospitality. It was strange. Additionally, the bartender made it uncomfortable concerning the happy hour policy at the bar and never provided the information about the Tuesday 1/2 price bottles of wine special at the dining tables. Once again, not welcoming or neighborly. We felt we were an inconvenience to the staff the entire evening.
It got a little weird with someone (we think she was a little drunk) over zealous for the guitar player. He was good ! But it was just a little too loud for us.
Our waiter Nelson was wonderful. He dealt well with gluten-free and dairy free requests even though there was a little issue. He and the manager? handled it very well.
Service was a little slow and the app was super spicy
Wheatfields was beautiful inside! I couldn't believe something so elegant was in a strip mall! It was elegant and the homemade pasta was delicious! Our server was iffy- very forgetful/spacey. The other servers around seemed great though- very attentive to their tables. Ours was just a bit off- don't know if she was new or just having a bad time of it- we were there 12/29- so it's a weird time of year for people.
Food was cold. It was only cooked on the outside, raw inside. We were told there was full reservations as we we were seated near the door yet no one sat in two of the tables near us the entire time we were there.
Very friendly wait staff, even the owner came out to ask if we were enjoying our dinners. The food is excellent. This was our 3rd consecutive Christmas Eve dining experience at Wheatfields, we will be back again next year.
Took forever to get drinks. Worst cioppino I’ve ever had. Only recognizable seafood on the plate was mussels. No broth. No bread. Over rice?? Seriously? Horribly disappointing. It was a 430 reservation, why did it take nearly 30 minutes for drinks? And why did I have to ask for water when we could not get drinks? And why did everyone else get lemon w there water but us? Very poor. Enjoyed my Xmas eve dinner two years ago. This was a waste of money. Wish I made dinner.
Food arrived cold pizza for one guest had to send back to microwave
The restaurant has good food but service is inconsistent. tonight the entertainer was too loud making conversation impossible.
Lunch was very good, service outstanding. Server was Laura.
Great food. Excellent service. Pricey but worth the money.
This is the second time my wife and I have eaten here and the first for friends. I must say first and foremost the waitresses both times were phenomenal! With out a doubt exceptional service. The food however this second time was just embarrassing. We raved about the food to our friends and were made to feel as incompetent as the cook. Two of us ordered the pan seared chicken parmesan and one ordered linguine and clams I had the flat iron steak. All three pasta dishes were served cold and the noodles were hard like they've been sitting in a refrigerator for a week. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. Our waitress came over and asked how everything was and noticed nobody was eating the pasta. Without hesitation she placed three new orders for our table and the pasta finally came out edible. Definitely not with the $250 we spent there however the waitresses definitely deserves honorable mention. She alone made the evening there tolerable.
Service and food is always fantastic
This places is so dependable! Have been there numerous times. Food is always good; service is reliable. Have brought out-of town guests here and it was well received.
Consistently very good food, and Cantrell, our server, is always spot on, chipper and efficient!
Very nice restaurant with excellent food and quiet environment for a date.
Madison was great!
Food needs to be improved. My granddaughter order the Mac and cheese and side of meatballs. She loves Mac and cheese but said it taste very bland. I thought she was being picky. Later I tried the leftovers and she was right. It had no cheese in it but was swimming in a milk, flour base. My chopped salad was good and I ordered a shrimp add on. There was only 4 shrimp in it. My husband liked his pizza. The service was very good, though. Our server was very attentive.
The food was excellent! Best of all, the service was professional, warm and responsive!
The restaurant was good for my friend who needed gluten free options. However it was loud and crowded. The server seemed to find us a bother. He frequently walked away while we were mid-order, forgot things, seemed patronizing, and put his hand/arm in front of us to clear things without any warning.
Dinner was good and our server was attentive. Could have done without the music... too loud!
Overall very good. It is a little to dark for my old eyes. The bread was partially frozen but I didn’t say anything about it or in sure they would have fixed it.
Very nice place with very good food.
On a three day holiday. Searched for close by restaurants for lunch. So happy Open Table pointed out this place. Had great waitress, food and value. If we lived in the area this would be a regular stop.
Service was poor and some food was tasteless while some in our party thought the food was passable.
Outstanding service with Sarah as our waitress. Food was delicious, started with the crab cake app and the haddock special which was over a garlicky angel hair and broccoli spears.
Good food, quiet enough to have a chat with a friend. The waitress knew her stuff about the food and the wine list.
Always enjoy this restaurant but on this night the live music was definitely to loud. Everything else was great.
Homemade pasta no great shakes. No automatic water. No glasses with vans of beer. Rigatoni is glorified ziti.
We had a very lovely time. We’re in town to visit my boyfriend’s grandmother. The service and food were spectacular.
Absolutely the best restaurant I've ever been to. My wife and I can wait to go back again! Amazing food and service.
Haven't been there in a while, but I am glad we came back. Our flatbread, with pesto and sausage was delicious. Our dinners, Chicker Scarpetta and Spunach Fettucine were nicely done and just the tight portion. We shared a Flourless Chocolate Cake slice and the meal was definitely perfect. We will go again for sure.
I had made a reservation days in advance, yet when I arrived the hostess and two other people wanted to seat me at the bar. I asked for a table in the dining area since I had made a reservation and it took awhile for them to figure out if there were any tables open. This didn’t make any sense to me, as throughout the whole evening the restaurant never filled up, so there was no concern of large parties coming in. And why this took three people to figure out didn’t make sense either. My first moments made me feel like I had stepped into a restaurant run by amateurs. Once I was seated it took a very long time for a server to come over to our table. After she did arrive and took our drink order, another server came over to do the same. Communication wasn’t happening with the wait staff. When we did receive our food the appetizer we ordered, the bacon and bleu pizza was excellent. The best of the evening. Our drinks were sub-par, tasting as if they were mixed wrong. When asked about this and addressing it we were told they are supposed to be that way and nothing should be wrong. The entrees were not what I expected. The chicken marsala was poorly presented and lacking flavor. The presentation also lacked mushrooms which is part of the dish. Finally, dessert was horrendous. I ordered the tiramisu. The taste was dry and the presentation poorly done. It appeared that two small pieces were smushed together and a lot of whipped cream lumped in the middle. Overall I would not recommend eating here, especially for the price. There are much nicer Italian restaurants in the area that do a significantly better job with their service, staff communications, and much better food and presentation.
There was only one waitress working and she was unable to attend us in a efficient manner. We waited over an hour to receive our food and when we did 2 of the meatball parm sandwiches was not only the rolls burnt but they were also cold. One meatball parm sandwiches the meatballs were not cooked through. Even though the manager was quick to remove the items from our bill the overall experience was very poor.
I usually enjoy the Haddock bruschetta but this time it was very garlicky as well as floating in olive oil. Not very appetizing. Not sure if there is a new chef but would not order this dish again.
Food was ok. Server was friendly and helpful, however, it seemed to take a rather long time for our meals to arrive and the restaurant was almost empty. Ambiance is quite pleasant and the dining room was for the most part relatively quiet. I think this would be a better lunch/happy hour venue than a dinner location.
