Wu's House - Orland Park
Excellent service and food. A little pricey but still a great experience. Much quieter than other Hibachi restaurants in the area.
The food was amazing, the portions are big and worth for the money
Good food. Waitress was barely available. Bus boy did more
Chef across from us was more entertaining than our own, but the food was tasty and good, fast service.
Delicious food, horrible service
We have been going here for a very long time long before it became popular. Every experience we have had has always been great as we always do hibachi here. We went yesterday for the first time in about a year to get hibachi. We got there and someone came and took our food and drink order. After we received our drinks it took about 30 mins before a chef came out took cook. We just sat there and no drinks. The chef then finally came and rushed through the entire process and I had to ask 2 times to get yum yum sauce and ginger sauce since he was already half way through cooking. He disregarded me the first time I asked even though he heard me. He was rushing the entire time. He didn’t say a word and the entire occasion was not very enjoyable as part of the experience when eating hibachi is the chef. The entire dinner (60 mins)nobody came back to refill our water or ask for a second round of drinks. I had to go to the bar and complain for someone to come and at that point I was not going to spend any more money there. The waiter at the end asked me to tip him more after not once during the meal visiting our table. I don’t complain much but the service and experience was terrible for the amount of money it costs to have a night out for a hibachi dinner. This was probably our 10th time here and most likely won’t be back. Clearly this place is about money and no longer service or great experience.
Usually a much better experience.
We love Jenny
Food was NOT like it has been in the past. I was disappointed tonight.
We had 5 children under the age of 8 in our group and they were very good with the kids. The kids and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night.
Love this place always go to the evergreen park location so decided to try the Orland park location... same ambiance .. my only complaint is that the cook sorta overcooked certain foods and it had a scorched taste to it ...
Took the kids there for a birthday. I am not a fan of hibachi but the kids love the experience. Everything during the cooking performance was great but what I don’t like is how waiters up sell hibachi options without even mentioning that there is an extra charge. I’m referring to getting steak hibachi dinner and the waiter immediately asking what kind of fried rice to include with dinner without mentioning the up charge fee. Customer be aware!!!!!
Wife and I got sushi instead of hibachi and we were very happy with our selection.
mother In law
the food was disgusting , it didn’t have enough flavor but the cook was nice just not a good job cooking
Great food and service
The food was great & the chef very entertaining. Hostess at check in was unfriendly because we were a few minutes early. The person who took care of our drink orders extremely unfriendly. He made sure to offer everyone in our party another drink except me. They need better ventilation on busy nights. Extremely smoky. There was a haze across the whole room.
Birthday Celebration was great!
The last 2 times we have had dinner it hasn’t been very good, and we always go for birthday celebrations. Particularly this last time. I wanted to call and complain bc my family likes this restaurant and we hate to see quality change for the worse. The last chef actually didn’t really season the food at all, mixed up orders, never asked if we wanted teriyaki, or did any entertaining of any kind. Plus he chopped up the noodles too much. We actually didn’t eat anything but the rice. The other parties at the table had complaints as well. All were asking for more of the seasoned butter they use to cook the food with bc the food was so bland. It’s a lot of money to not enjoy any part of the meal
Wu’s never disappoints!! Amazing food and great chefs and staff. My family and I always have a great experience.
Love this place for hibachi but this time around found the food was way too salty. Even my husband who adds salt to everything even agreed. Great value for money. Disappointed had a reservation and took 30 minutes to get started.
No ice cream at the end of the meal as promised with the meal.
The food is always well cooked and flavorful. The servers are attentive and fun!
We had a 530 reservation and were seated at about 610. It was busy so that was understandable. When we were seated our soup and salad were served at the same time. That has never happened before I am hoping it was because they were busy but the table across from us were served them two separately.
Food is amazing, and enough for two meals. Was there in NYE, and felt very rushed to leave. Granted the place was PACKED, but our 4:45 reservation had us out on the street by 6:00. Will go back, but never on a holiday.
We went there to celebrate my best friends birthday. Everything was really nice. We sat at the hibachi table. What would have help would have been them asking us if we needed help with the menu. We didn’t understand how that whole thing worked, with it being our first time there. We weren’t explained anything and I eventually figured it out myself. But it’s a little embarrassing since we felt there were 6 other people who had already placed their order, were trying patiently wait for us.
First time there and everything was great
Cook was not good. Too much grease! Food was not seasoned.
We dined at Wu's House on Christmas Day. There were 4 people in my party. We had a reservation for 7:00p.m. but arrived early at 6:45pm. Upon arrival, there was a table ready but we were told the kitchen was backed up and food orders were taking at least an hour. Since it was Christmas Day and nothing else was open we stayed. Walking to our table, we noticed a sign by the hostess area stating there is an 18% service charge added to every check regardless of party size. Our server was excellent! She was very friendly and promptly brought our drink order. We ordered the appetizers and main course all at once. We were very pleasantly surprised when the appetizers came out within 15 minutes. Our main entree was served within 30 minutes. All in all the food service time was very good. The reason for the non-recommendation is the 18% service charge added to EVERY check regardless of party size. We asked our server if she gets the 18%. She does NOT get it all. She gets around 13% and the restaurant takes 5%. That is ridiculous. Everyone in our party stated they will not return because of that charge. If the overhead is too high they need to raise their prices. We handed our server a cash tip to make up for the 5% she looses on the service charge. The food is average so we will find another restaurant serving Asian food that does not add 18%.
Came here with my family for Christmas dinner. The service and the food were awesome. We sat a hibachi table. The service was great. We each got salad, soup, shrimp appetizer, grilled veggies, grilled lo-mein noodles, fried rice, and our entrees. Please note that the restaurant does charge an 18% service fee.
The food portion was not enough I paid for extra everything including noodles and I received a small portion of noddles just not enough for the money
Tofu was cold and service was good but seemed to need more servers on staff. Other than tofu, rest of the food great.
Traditionally, my immediate family of 7 go out on Christmas Eve to Hibachi restaurants. Wu’s House was the best! From seating to service to cooking and eating, everything was spot on! The prices were reasonable, the staff superb, the atmosphere fun!
I booked via Open Table 15 mins before I arrived at Wu’s. I was seated right away. The servers were very attentive & made sure my drink was always filled. The chef was entertaining. Overall, a really pleasant experience. Even though it is on the pricier side, Wu’s is definitely a restaurant I can see myself visiting once every few months or on special occasions.
It was great
Always a great time. Good food and a hibachi show.
Food was good but the booths are in need of repair.
We ordered the hibachi traditional dinner. The chef spent more time entertaining than cooking. The chef's preparation of all the sides before starting the meats and seafood resulted in receiving and eating the sides before receiving the main protein of meat or seafood. The side dishes were presented after a 5 minute show (per dish). Be prepared to receive your cooked meat or seafood last. The one good point is the food is good but I wanted to eat a complete meal out. I ended up taking all the meat plus some sides home for dinner the next day. The imposing an 18% service charge, which amounts to a required tip, results in staff with no incentive to provide the type of service normally required to obtain a 18% tip in any other establishment. I would recommend only as a takeout if the takeout equals the taste of the eat in. Will not come as eat in again.
We stepped out of our comfort zone and were not diss appointed. Good and service was a treat.
A nice change to Hamada of Japan. Better service and we didn't feel like we were rushed through our meal. The drinks were good, too. Better
