Please join us at 740 Front in Historic Downtown Louisville. Designated historical, 740 is one of Colorado's two oldest remaining saloons; transformed back to its 1904 roots; a traditional American dining saloon with a turn of the century ambiance featuring a magnificent room dominating bar, built in 1880 by the Brunswick Company,. The copper spit trough, once equipped with running water, still exists at the front of the bar. Louisville, notorious for its drinking, gambling, and illegal activities, evidence of the occasional misunderstanding is the .22 caliber bullet hole in the front bar.
The bar offers a selection of craft beers, wines, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive craft bourbon selection.

The ambience was excellent and the food was very good but the service was poor. We were in a corner, and neglected - first in taking our orders, second in bringing drinks (it was only unsweet iced tea!!!). They were so late with the tea that it was taken off the bill per their own initiative (thank you!). Service was slow throughout, and they struck me as being understaffed. I would give them a second chance as perhaps we just caught the on off night.

We sat out on the patio and it was lovely. We stayed dry despite a short downpour. Our service from the moment we walked in was terrific. Our waiter Tyler was attentive, friendly and funny. We enjoyed the sea bass special and tenderloins which were tasty, and the grilled shrimp skewers which were absolutely fabulous. The martinis were served with fun iced vodka sidecars. We will return again very soon. Note: if you want to take advantage of the great happy hour prices and menu in addition to the regular dinner menu you must ask to be seated in the bar area or a specific one of the two outdoor patios. Call to be sure you get the seating you want our put a note in your reservation on-line.
