We ordered the pressed duck, the staff that did the preparation of the duck I front of us said to finish the meal with a salad. The only one thing that was not right was they didn’t give us salad plates. The duck was served with a sauce so there was still a left over sauce on the plate so when we ate our salad, it got mixed with the sauce, that didn’t go well on the salad because the salad has dressing on it. I found it odd for an upscale Michelin starred restaurant that the server didn’t pay attention to details. Overall, we enjoyed our By the time he got to that he was full and had to take some home. The brioche bread with the dried tomato sofrito butter is something special. My husband had a chocolate dessert which he loved (don't remember the name) and I had the flan, which was way beyond the traditional South Florida flan. I was more like flan met creme brûlée. Loved it! The service was outstanding. The servers all seem to work together to make the experience impeccable. Our main server was Cristina, who was lovely. The ambience is nice, but not stuffy. The only thing I did't like is that there are no salads or any other significant vegetables on this menu. Surprise me. Let the food speak for itself. The Venison I must say was delicious. On the other hand you can keep the Short Ribs. \nThe most insulting thing that I find in very poor taste is that Ariete adds 20% to the check automatically. The duck was served with a sauce so there was still a left over sauce on the plate so when we ate our salad, it got mixed with the sauce, that didn’t go well on the salad because the salad has dressing on it. The food was good not off the charts. Pretty safe, but well prepared, seasoned and presented. The rest of the experience was where this all fell apart. For starters, we love doing one of each tier of wine selections to compare and experience the different pairings. This is the first Michelin starred restaurant (out of over 100) at which we have eaten who said no. The reason was that it was too much of a hassle and we would get bored of the wine presentations. Even after us saying that we wouldn’t it was not going to happen. This began the downward spiral with the service. We felt rushed from the second we walked in, which was frustrating. There were not a lot of tables filled so we assume they all just wanted out of there. Courses came in rapid fire…less than a minute between. They also tried, multiple times, to clear one of our plates before the other was finished which drives me nuts. They put the canapés on the table and the check before we were even finished with our final course. Certain dishes were served with incorrect silverware. Also the music was so loud we could barely hear the dish descriptions…or wine overviews. For what its worth, the Som is great…nice pairings, knowledgeable. All in all tho, we don’t understand how this is a michelin starred restaurant. Its a good bistro, but falls apart when the expectations of that “distinction” level of food and service.
