We downright adore this cosy cottage restaurant in the Surrey village of Ripley, which was originally built in the 16th century. After surviving former lives as a dwelling and an antique shop selling Toby jugs, the Toby Cottage Restaurant was converted to a restaurant in 1979 and has been pleasing local gourmands ever since. The penultimate romantic restaurant, Toby Cottage is perfect for celebrations and family occasions and has original oak beams, a cocktail bar perfect for sneaky aperitifs, and a sensational wine list to compliment its English/Continental menu. Don't miss the smoked duck breast with mango chutney; the deep fried Brie with cranberry sauce; and the classic beef Wellington with mushrooms, pate and Burgundy sauce.

    Ordered the tray and it was beyond phenomenal. Restaurants atmosphere was low lighting and perfect for a cozy afternoon. Food and drinks were served in great size for money portions. Staff was attentive and friendly, chatty but didn’t hover over which was great. Would happily come again and highly recommend for all ages and party sizes! Had something for everyone.

    A warm welcome from friendly, professional staff. Excellent service, very little waiting time for food despite the bar and restaurant being very full and food quality was excellent. Our first visit but definitely not the last and we shall recommend to friends and family

    5 of us (on a weekend trip locally) and our food was lovely. Our experience was enhanced by our server, Christina, who was super attentive and friendly.
