We are an independent Kitchen & Tap House located in the heart of Southsea. Our name derives from Thomas Croxton, who built the first houses in the area around 1809. The area subsequently became known as Croxton Town, but in 1857 the town’s name was changed to Southsea, after King Henry’s Southsea Castle.Located in the old Southsea Post Office we offer craft beer, cocktails, wine and spirits, along with award winning food inspired by our travels from around the world. Our Sunday lunch was awarded best in the region after a national search held by Unilever Food Solutions, and in 2024 we were voted “Best Casual Dining” venue in Hampshire & IOW as part of the regional and national awards hosted by Muddy Stiletto.

    This was our second visit and it totally met our high expectations. Kirsty was such a lovely waitress making good recommendations. Service was prompt and friendly. The ambience was warm and inviting. But the star of the show has to be the delicious food with so many amazing items on the menu. We had the sharing plates so could try lots of dishes, all of which were fabulous. Would highly recommend for lunch or dinner, and certainly for special occasions.

    This is a perfect venue for either a business or intimate meeting. There is plenty of space between the tables for you to have a private conversation. The food is excellent, & the vegan options are good too. There is plenty of safe secure car parking & the staff are very friendly & attentive too.

    Had a meal here and the food was amazing well presented and hot.the service of the front of house was perfect very professional and friendly.The man that served us was very polite and couldn’t do enough for us will highly recommend. we visited on the 20th of march
