His signature "Luau Soup" is a play on Luau stew (Hawaiian) and seaweed soup (Asian). This fusion combines lau kalo (the leaf of the most important plant in Hawai'i, kalo) and wagyu bits for the soup base. Located in historic Kalihi, a one minute drive from Bishop Museum. The atmosphere consists of light wood tones with an intimate interior. The best part of the restaurant are the new smoke free tables. You do not leave smelling like BBQ! Chef Kale has many restaurants and projects across Hawai'i. However, you may be lucky enough to catch him serving your table with one of the nightly specials.

Wie beim ersten besuch war ZIGU hervoragend. Der service ist sehr gut, die kellner sind sehr aufmerksam und das Essen schmeckt sehr. Wir waren innerhalb einer woche 2 mal bei Zigu und bei beiden malen waren wir sehr zufrieden. Sehr viel Aloha

    This is my fav Japanese restaurant for tonkatsu. I know there are many venues featuring tonkatsu however the quality of food, portion size, taste and excellent service all make for a stellar dining experience! We'll be back!

    We returned here for our anniversary. And again are so pleased with the friendly, efficient service. The food is delicious and served quickly. The clam miso soup is my favorite! We will be back.
