The best Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh. I love Japanese food and have been in Japan twice. I have also been in many other Japanese restaurants. Yamato is truly excellent! We've been there a few times now, and the staff remember us too, they gave us the perfect table and even brought me a mochi with a cute candle for my birthday. They've also added seasonal plates and specials. The oyster were worthy of Matsushima (though smaller), and the lobster tempura was sensational! We'll definitely go back again at the first occasion!

A lovely Japanese restaurant with excellent service and a great atmosphere. The environment is comfortable and relaxing, making it a perfect place to enjoy good food and have a nice conversation. Highly recommended!

High quality sashimi with beautiful presentation. This place also serve the best ramen in town. A must visit little gem in Edinburgh.

Best breakfast ever. Beautifully presented. Plenty of choice . Staff wonderful . Will definitely go again. A hidden gem!

An extensive and varied menu of Japanese food. Our party chose two different types of rice bowl along with curries and all were excellent. Would definitely recommend.
