A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.     We had a fantastic dinner once again at The Reading Room. My only issue this time was that the selection of wines seemed to be limited. Our first choice of white wine was not available … no problem we selected another, but then our choice of red wine was also not available so we again had to make another selection.

    My wife and I where celebrating our wedding aniversary. I had been to London Street Brasserie before so it was the obvious choose to take my wife. The whole experience was good as I remembered it from before. Near the end of the meal they presented us with a token gift of two cake slices, some fudge, some meringue... all put together with style and elegance. Thank you... You made my wife and I day.
