At Gertie’s, we believe in preserving tradition while embracing fresh ideas. Founded in 2010 by Gary Held and Beth Gross, Gertie’s has been a cornerstone of the Clarence Center community for over 14 years. The name, inspired by Beth’s grandmother, reflects the warmth, charm, and classic flavors that have made this spot a beloved neighborhood destination.In 2024, Gertie’s entered an exciting new chapter with its acquisition by local entrepreneurs Josh Cohen and Tony Galbo, who have deep roots in the food and hospitality industry. In 2025, Gertie's welcomed Chef So Kimura, who brings his experience at Buffalo favorites, Bacchus, Left Bank, and Hutches. Under their leadership of Josh, Tony, and So, Gertie’s has undergone subtle enhancements, from a refreshed menu blending timeless favorites with new creations to updates in décor and seasonal outdoor dining options. Every decision is made with the goal of honoring Gertie’s history, our loyal customers and the Clarence Center community.
