The Lunch Lady Vancouver is the first chapter in carrying forward the remarkable legacy of the late Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thanh—known worldwide as “The Lunch Lady” after her unforgettable appearance on Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. Her food, humble in origin yet bold in flavour, moved Bourdain and captured hearts across the globe.In 2020, we partnered with Ms. Thanh to bring her dream to life on Commercial Drive in Vancouver’s Little Italy—the first home of her legacy outside Saigon. Her soulful cooking was translated into a modern Vietnamese kitchen while staying true to its roots.Since then, The Lunch Lady has become a beloved fixture in the community and a destination for diners across the city, proudly earning 4 consecutive Michelin Bib Gourmand awards.From the bustling streets of Saigon to East Vancouver, we carry her story forward—offering a dining experience rooted in heritage, driven by community, and carried by the belief that a great meal can tell a powerful story.
