Freya is a prix fixe and tasting menu restaurant on East Grand Boulevard in Detroit. Our vegetables are grown and harvested in and around the city from independent farmers, seafood is ultra-fresh, sourdough bread, pasta, and everything else is homemade with care and love. We feel strongly that innovative farm to table food, thoughtful cocktails, esoteric and classic wines, and warm hospitality are things everyone deserves. Especially you.With advance notice, our offerings can always accommodate guests who are gluten-free/celiac, pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, and have nut allergies. Freya and chef Doug Hewitt have received multiple James Beard Award semifinalist awards, been named one of the New York Times' 50 most interesting restaurants in the US, Restaurant of the Year by Hour Detroit, and best restaurant in Detroit by Metro Times.

    Overall the food was outstanding. My only complaint was that the NY strip was a little chewy with some gristle. Seems like it could have been trimmed a bit per the serving size. Nice staff, cool location and some really creative dishes. I'll be back.

    My hubby and I have been going to Chartreuse for dinner for several years and they never disappoint. Megan is our go to girl and she takes such good care of us! The food is consistently delicious and they change the menu to provide variety. This place’s food is always fresh from farm to table, presentation spot on and the flavors marry well with every dish.
