Amazing food and amazing drinks. Roast dinners are 10/10

I took my partner to Johnny's Bar & Parlour last week as an early birthday treat, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the atmosphere – stylish, welcoming, and with a fantastic ambience that made the evening feel really special. The service was exceptional throughout. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience memorable. As for the food, it was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with great attention to detail. Johnny's struck the perfect balance between relaxed and sophisticated, making it an ideal spot for a celebration or a special night out. We left already looking forward to our next visit. One very small thing – and this is absolutely not a criticism, more a suggestion that might be helpful for Jemima and her team – would be to leave the drinks menu on the table after ordering. Ours was taken away, and with so many incredible cocktails on offer, we found ourselves wanting to sample a few more throughout the evening! A testament to how good they were. Highly recommended - I am sad that I don't live nearer as I would most likely be coming weekly!

We had a wonderful meal last night to celebrate my birthday. Food was top class. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

We booked our table in advance and got a window seat watching the word go by along Low Petergate. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Now to the main attraction, the food: I had a spicy beef brisket curry with rice which was full of flavours to get the taste buds going, also baby squid for starters. We also had chicken and prawn stir fry which was a little bland. The kids had chicken egg fried rice and meatballs, which they really liked. I can highly recommend Pho as a family restaurant.

Great little find whilst en route home from the Lakes. Booked on the day for a group of 8, asked to preorder which suited us fine! We arrived an hour early due to us mistiming our activity and journey etc but were able to sit at our table and order drinks this was no issue. Our pre ordered food arrived minutes after our original booking time. This had given us chance to relax and have a drink prior to our meal. All the meals were perfect! Just as ordered! Don’t think we took a breath between bites! We ordered a mix from the menu including Sunday roasts and a children’s meal. All were prefect! Highly recommend, will deffo return if our adventures take us up that way again!
