Overrated, for the prices they charge in this restaurant. Service is poor as is the food! Would not return and would not recommend!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We strive to deliver top quality service and food at Gaucho and on this occasion we've let you down. I do apologise for this. May I please ask for you reservation details so I can look into this for you? Kind Regards, Gaucho Leeds
BIT PRICEY ...BUT WE KNOW THAT GREAT SERVICE NICE PEOPLE
Hi MikeP Thank you for taking the time to review your visit. We do hope we see you again soon. Gaucho Leeds
Food excellent. Our server was superb. I hope you can find out his name from our booking, but he was absolutely amazing. No intrusion, friendly, funny & knowledgable
I'm happy to hear your visit to Gaucho Leeds was an excellent one. I'll will pass on your kind words to Minty who looked after you that evening. We look forward to welcoming you to our venue again soon. Gaucho Leeds
Absolutely amazing experience. Can’t wait to visit again
Hi YvonneC Thank you for the kind words. I happy to hear you enjoyed your experience, and do hope to see you again soon. Gaucho Leeds
Lovely service food was good but not wow
Lovely food and service, recomended and we will return and it would have been a top marks score but we were really cold, did mention it but told it was to do with the fans in the kitchen which was odd as we've been many times and this was the first time we were cold.
Great venue, Great food and great staff. Had a wonderful night.
Amazing restaurant. From the beautiful food to the awsome decor could not fault it. Staff very good and helpful to you needs. A++++
Canceled our reservation 15 minutes before! Awful customer service!
I'm sorry to hear that you were unfortunately booked on NYE when we had to close our kitchen due to gas issues. If you could contact us with your booking details for that evening, we are offering all of our guests on NYE alternative booking options. Regards Gaucho Leeds
After traveling over 25mile to gaucho we was met upon arrival to be told there was an issue with the kitchen so there was no food! Apparently an engineer had been working for over 3hrs to fix the issue!! An they had waited to contact us an tell us this good news untill we arrived at the restaurant, bearing in mind this was 8:30pm on new year's eve it totally ruined our night as it was to late to book elsewhere ...so to sum it up completely sh*te
I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant!! I had booked a table of 2x on New Year’s Eve at 8pm, at 7.50 I received a call saying ‘there was a problem with the gas’ and they can’t host me tonight. When I asked questions about the problem the girl couldn’t give me a straight answer, she also went on to say I can get 10% off my next meal there, absolutely shocking!!
When we arrived on New Years Eve after having booked a month before, they told us they could not serve food but no one had called us to let us know.
Considering the circumstances with regards to the gas, the night was fantastic. The staff was faultless and did there best to make in a brilliant evening. Special shoutout to Max who was spot on with everything tonight!
Unfortunately due to a problem within Gauchos they had no gas and the grills weren’t operational. However the staff did offer us a drink on the house and any starters or deserts from the menu that didn’t need the grill to be cooked on.
What a shame though as we were looking forward to our steak. Never mind.
There were issues with the gas supply to the kitchen so we couldn't have what we ordered, and we waited for longer than was usual for our mains. The chef even came to our table to aplologise for the delay and offered us alternatives, which although weren't our first choices were still delicious. Due to the delay in our food arriving because of the technical issues, and because we didn't get what we originally ordered, the whole meal and all drinks were on the house, which was a very generous gesture and greatly appreciated. The staff were lovely and so helpful. I would definitely go back and recommend Gaucho to others.
All steaks were fabulous and extremely filling. Chips and sauce were included in the price. However the chips weren't great and we were charged for one of the sauces (red wine jus). Additional sides were variable - mushrooms were lovely but broccoli was bland - supposed to be stem broccoli but was florets. Wine was overpriced. Would we return? Most definitely because of the steak!
Fantastic restaurant. It will easily become "our" place to go. If you're going out on a date, look no further.
I can honestly say out of the numerous times I have frequented Gaucho, this is the most disappointed I have ever been. The service you come to expect having such wonderful attentive staff previously just adds to the negativity. Our starter was fantastic couldn’t fault that, however the steak was tough, sauce was shocking really hadn’t been thickened at all by the looks of it and the sides were abysmal. Add to that Max tried to up sell us on every aspect of our visit, I’m more than happy to receive recommendations but this was something else. The attention to detail was again no where near what we are used to, numerous times we were left with empty glasses, plates weren’t cleared, conversation was minimal with barely an interaction when passing the dessert menus and the bill.
Having recommended Gaucho to numerous family, friends, clients and customers I am devastated to have felt so undervalued. Having been my favourite venue for a meal in Leeds I am saddened to say this visit will make me question whether I would like to visit again.
Always thought “well it’s just steak”. It is, but FANTASTIC steak. Service outstanding thanks Max.
Could do with a bit of modernisation, the refurb will sort.
Food was absolutely delicious, steak was beautiful, the sausage platter was amazing too and the cheese bread was possibly the nicest bread I’ve ever had. The chips were a bit disappointing. I have been a few years ago when they used to be really chunky and the steak was served on a wood board (they were nicer back then) that was what I was expecting.
Max was our waiter and was lovely and attentive. Only time that service was disappointing was we ordered drinks as our mains arrived, once we had finished our mains we still hadn’t got our drinks, I had to ask someone to get them and the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy.
Food was very good, service was outstanding, value for money not so sure!
£125 for one vegetarian meal, one steak, one bottle of wine!!
Really slow service during our meal at Gaucho, Leeds. It was around 20 mins after been seated to be given a drinks menu and a further 5 mins for the drinks to arrive. Food was OK not mind blowing for the money spent, asked for tender stem broccoli but it wasn’t tender stem. Chips were provided with the steak but wasn’t advised. Overall nice place but won’t return.
It was the perfect place for a group of good friends to catch up: delicious food; good value with the Open table menu; music not too loud; and acoustics good for chatting.
Our waiter was very attentive and we really enjoyed the whole evening.
From beginning to the end excellent, a mention to Steven head bar man just fantastic and his cocktails are awesome, thank you u all for an amazing experience, will see u all very soon
It was my son's 21st birthday meal and I was disappointed that nothing had been done by the restaurant on this occasion to mark this special day. Food was good as usual and excellent wine list. We got our bread and butter after our starter!
Me and my mum went for the first time and had steak and chips. To quote my mum who is in her 70s it was the best steak she has ever had. The food was lovely and steak cooked to perfection. The staff very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definately reccomend this restaurant and will be returning
Oh dear, how the mighty have fallen!
Not a patch on how it used to be, but just as expensive.
It won’t be the ‘go to’ steak place any more, I’m afraid.
Had a great night, good and service both excellent
Great food great service good atmosphere, cant fault this place for a good evening out
I made a booking and on arrival I had to ask a waitress to be seated as the matradee did not come to the desk, it was not busy either so very poor start.
The service was extremely slow in the end we asked where our main course was which had been
sitting on the counter for 5 minutes. The experience overall was not awful but I would not return.
Excellent steaks. Lovely dessert. Good service from our server. Explained in detail the different steaks we could have and the sauces
Disappointing birthday meal for my wife the steak was the only thing that scored 4/5 everything else was 1/5 the chips were just warm and cold by the time the mushrooms and the raw / under cooked broccoli arrived additionally the pepper sauce was watery and lacked flavour. The consolation free sweet was very nice but didn’t quite cover our disappointment overall . We won’t be rushing back any time soon.
Yes, but could do with some garnish on the plate, and maybe a some decor being refurbished
Great service. Great food. Friendly Staff.
A nice place to dine in.
Really friendly staff. Amazing steak. Nice bar area. Great location in Leeds.
Excellent as always. Steak was cooked exactly as requested. Dessert was lovely. Really great place to go for special occasions.
I do love the food but overall I can’t give the full 5 stars because the tables are just so uncomfortable, I really do want to pay hundreds of pounds for beautiful steak and wine and not be thinking “god I wish I hadn’t gone and gotten a baby sitter so I could pay all this money just to be so uncomfortable with these table bases” shame really
My only criticism was that the restaurant felt like it had had to cope with a lot of people on a busy day. There was food on the carpets etc which made it feel a bit more like a family friendly pub dinner rather than a high end restaurant.
Warm welcome and exit, and the food was lovely but terrible service once seated.
We were asked if we wanted water for the table, so we asked for tap water, however we were given and charged for still water!!
One of the steaks that was served was incorrect. A 300g rump was ordered, priced at £22. What arrived at the table was a 300g fillet, charged at £37.50. We notified a server of the mistake, he then passed the message on to our server and they both returned to the table, there was some confusion and the fillet remained on the table (we did try to point this out to our server, however she didn’t appear to listen, and ultimately thought that we hadn’t told her of the mistake).
Finally, the bill arrived and we were charged for the water that we did not order, the more expensive steak that we did not order, a bottle of wine that we never ordered and a service charge (the audacity)!! After bringing this to our servers attention and being told that she would rectify the bill, we still ended up paying for the water we didn’t order and a more expensive steak. At this point we wanted to leave immediately, and believing that the bill still would not be rectified, even if we asked again ... based on all of the previous mistakes ... we just paid the bill and left!
Very disappointed in the whole experience once seated, having dined at multiple Gaucho restaurants countless times; we will NOT be in a hurry to return!
