   We were so thankful to have a place to eat on Christmas Day for dinner. The food was good but due to it being buffet style it was a little cold. But the service was amazing. Thank you Isa’s for being open and serving us!

   We have been to Isa’s for Christmas dinner once before and it was pretty good so when we saw they were doing a prime rib Christmas buffet for $69, we decided to make a reservation. We are trying to eat at local businesses as much as possible right now because of the lack of tourism due to the hurricane. The buffet was actually laughable - they were serving soup and salad, plus 3 proteins, and a couple sides. But what made it laughable was not the very minimal items on the buffet for $69, but the fact that almost everything was empty. And if it wasn’t empty, it was obviously old and had been sitting there a long long time. The few diners there kept asking if more food was being brought out, but it never was. On top of that, the prime rib “station” that was manned when we first walked in was actually abandoned by the staff, so it became self serve. We had to go ask for silverware and soup spoons because they were all out - literally no one was taking care of the buffet. The ice cream bar was actually melted ice cream with this trough of dirty water that the scoop was sitting in, rock hard old churros, some pie and empty plates for what I guess was more desserts they never bothered to refill. Not one person talked to us after we were seated and you had to go to the bar to order any drinks and to pay. It was just really really weird. If there had been any other choice to go somewhere else once we saw what it was, we would have. But it was 6 on Christmas and everything else that was open was already booked by that point. This was a really disappointing experience.

   We have enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at Isa's over the years and have always appreciated the food, and the staff who are working to make our day better. This year's Christmas dinner was only memorable in the negative. I have written a private note to provide details.

   We had the Christmas Day brunch, and it was good. However, be prepared as it was very cold downstairs.

   We had 4 appetizers. The ahi tuna nachos were the best followed by the bang bang shrimp and steak tips. The braised octopus was very chewy, not prepared well at all. Our server Nick was great.

   The prime rib was way over cooked. We asked for med rare and the meat was well done the waiter never came back to check on us. I would never return here

   So disappointed. Hostess was bland and non welcoming. Was seated outside at a table with no setup., but the menu. Only one other table occupied. After 10 minutes as we were rising to leave as no one had been to our table, waitress arrived. We complained and she said “sorry, we are short staffed- do you know what you want?” Split the burger which was good, also ordered the beef tip appetizer which was virtually inedible: tough, over seasoned. Such a shame as it was a gorgeous evening to be outside in Asheville

   Definitely visit this amazing eatery! Loved everything we ordered. Highly recommend the tuna lime nachos and the chicken and waffles. Goes great with a bottle of Pinot Grigio! Best meal I’ve hade in a long time. Service was amazing, too. Great location in the heart of town.

    The food was exceptional, the ambience wonderful. What a romantic setting for a first date. Most importantly, the waitstaff allowed my date and I plenty of time to talk, get acquainted. We were never rushed through dinner like most places do. I'll definitely go back. One last thing, valet parking is available through the attached hotel and is free with validation. All-in-all, a very positive evening.
