Great food, great place, concert was awesome. This was are second event we attended here and once again were not disappointed.

The restaurant is excellent, the service is excellent and the management is caring to make certain you have a good experience. The food is consistently good Year after year

Had a great experience here. Good wine and the Chicken Cacchiatore was lightly breaded and well seasoned. Quality Shrimp cocktail for an app. There was a 2 piece smooth Jazz band playing in the bar where we enjoyed dinner. Then we went upstairs for a fantastic comedy show... gr8 value and quality entertainment.

Loved the atmosphere! The food was delicious! The service was excellent! A little pricey!

Overall it was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We traveled for the first time on Thanksgiving and were looking forward to a nice meal food was cold and the portion sizes very small not a pleasant thanksgiving meal very expensive for what we got

Made a reservation for thanksgiving night. Decided to do something new this year. Waitstaff was terrible. Understood it’s a mass meal evening but every single dinner choose was served with the same three sides. All of which were tiny. We were clearly the last of the reservations and they were stretching things. That’s fine. It’s a busy night. BUT. When you tell your server you have an allergy to nuts and he brings you a salmon entree covered in almonds that is unacceptable. It wasn’t listed on the menu. When we asked for it to be replaced it took 30 minutes. All the waitstaff were just huddled in a room chatting and laughing. They couldn’t care less about the actual service. No apology. Definitely won’t be returning. Much better other restaurants in the area. Fail.

Lovely Thanksgiving I'll be back next year...The turkey and fixings were delicious, the wait staff super and it was nice they could accommodate last minute addition to our dinner party.

It was our first time dining at Jonathan’s. The servers were all incredibly professional and friendly. The food was exquisite. We were there to see Bob Marley’s comedy show. The only complaint was it was very warm upstairs. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Excellent food,very romantic and a nice place to visit

Jonathan's is very consistent. I usually go there for dinner and a show, so the overall cost of an evening varies depending upon the talent. The food is quite good and varied, presentation is usually superb. Ingredients are fresh and many are locally sourced. The performance room is of modest size (200ish) and allows for a relatively intimate experience. The most recent show I saw suffered some from mediocre sound mixing, which is an in-house Jonathan's function...not the act itself, so considering it was the house system, that part of the experience did not live up to the usual standard. The performance, by The James Montgomery Band, was superb. Montgomery and his band are always high energy and excellent. He's a true blues master. Overall grade of this Jonathan's visit, based on the reasons state, B+.

Very expensive but very good quality. Show was great but be prepared to be squeezed in. Tables are very close and made it difficult to move about.

A friend and I went to Jonathan's based on TripAdvisor reviews and we did not have a good experience, unfortunately. We were sat in the back of the restaurant--it was draft, we were cold, but the worst part was there was a function going on in the adjacent room that got way out of control in the noise department. There is a large window in the shared wall between the back and the function room--no window pane, just open and covered with sheer curtains. There is no door to the function room either. We asked to be moved but were only moved to the end of that area and still had a hard time having a dinner conversation due to the noise level in the function room. The management appeared to do nothing in the way of speaking to the people have the function to keep the noise down so the rest of the paying patrons could enjoy their dinners, too. In all, we paid $97 for 2 people. $15 for shrimp cocktail with 4 large shrimp only. $28.50 for a boiled lobster dinner with a small lobster, one small plate of mashed potatoes, and a small piece of corn. My bread pudding dessert was burned. It was a little difficult to get water refills--the staff was nice but not terribly attentive. Also, two of the men who were dining closer to the noise finally snapped after the group in the function room appeared to retaliate with more noise in response to their requests to please be a little quieter. The manager came around to apologize to the rest of the patrons but nothing was taken off the bill for our experience. The manager said he didn't know about it, but we had already made the request to move because of noise and he was the one who told our waitress it was ok to move us. It's not an inexpensive place to eat. If you decide to eat here on any given day, you may want to ask if there is a function and if so, to be placed at a table the furthest away from that room.

The food was good. Portion sizes was just right for food. Appetizers very small portion for price. Drinks a little pricey. Service was not good. Clyde seemed put off by the request for separate checks. Took awhile to get the food. Once we got the checks it took 50 minutes to get our credit cards back. It left us only 5 minutes to spare before our show upstairs started. We almost missed the opportunity for drinks/dessert that we paid for. He didn’t seem to care. And the managers just made excuses for it when we tried to get them to help us get our cards back. It’s unfortunate we had that experience because the rest of the night was good.

I guess it was because of the timing of the show but dinner seemed to be very rushed. I expected better service and wasn’t felt very welcomed at any time.

The food is very pricey and portions small. It is surprising that they price items higher than some spots elsewhere but with lesser quality. The best part about the place is the bar. I would definitely come to the bar but I would avoid the restaurant for dinner.

We had dinner, and my husband's steak was perfectly cooked as was my eggplant napoleon. I've had napoleons with rubbery and greasy eggplant but this one's eggplant was both crisp on the outside and tender inside. The fried calamari could have been better. A little dry and the pieces seem to have disappeared under the batter. Service was excellent. We had tickets to the show which, for an extra charge, included dessert and coffee. Frankly, that was a bit disappointing as the dessert selection was limited to two, neither of which we wanted and neither of which was listed on the regular menu. Show seating was satisfactory although it was difficult to tell from the website what good seats would be. We got lucky. But if you didn't want to sit in the very back you had to go for the dessert roulette or plan on having dinner at the restaurant included in the cost of the ticket.

Dinner was ok. I wasn't super impressed with the service or food. It was expensive for what we got. So yes it was fine, but I wouldn't rush back.

The venue upstairs was much too crowded, was very uncomfortable, we left at intermission even though we were enjoying George Winston and his piano playing...

Anniversary

Went to Jonathan's with my husband and daughter. My husband got the boiled lobster dinner, I got the scallops. Both were exceptional. Loved it! My daughter, on the other hand, has to eat gluten free and also has gone Vegan She was extremely excited to see that not only were there many gluten free options (even more if you talk to waitstaff), but Jonathan's has since added menu items that are available vegan upon request. When going through the menu, she saw the mushroom pappardelle that noted it could made vegan upon request. Having a gluten allergy, she asked if they had gluten free pasta that could be substituted that could make this meal gluten free and vegan. They said yes, and she was thrilled and ordered that. When the plate was delivered, it was quite literally a box of gluten free pasta (3.99 in store) and if I'm being generous 3 sliced mushrooms and thin onion strings. No flavor, barely notable truffle, and very very bland. She still can't get over the fact it was 26.00 (even though we paid the bill). My husband and I loved our meals. Jonathan's just needs to work on flavoring their gluten free/vegan meals. But it's a start.

After being seated bar service was slow. I order one of the special martinis which did not arrive until after our salad was eaten. The waitress was apologetic but not much she could do about it. I ordered the lobster scampi, Chef's special for the evening. The sauce lacked in lemon & garlic taste and the garden tomatoes were tasteless.

The food is always good, however because Jonathan's is understaffed, the waits are terrible. It took about 15minutes to be acknowledged at our table and another 25 mins from the time our drink order was placed, to get the drinks. We ordered our food at the same time as our drinks (anticipating another wait) and the appetizers came out before the drinks. Our entrees order got "stolen" and had to be reordered (more waiting). No fault of the waitress, she was wonderful. Kept apologizing and thanking us for our patience.

The food was quite good. However something was going on at the bar we had to wait over 30 minutes for our winewhile our dinner got cool. The waiter knew about it and appeared to be trying very hard to expedite the wine. We were never given any exclamation as to why there was a delay

Would have liked the lobster scampi in garlic oil rather than red sauce. I would never put tomato sauce on lobster. Wish I had read the menu description more carefully. My error.

Beer selection was poor. 2 craft beers of disinteresting qualities.

Service was attentive and timely.

The food at Jonathan's was outstanding - the biggest problem was the exceptionally poor service! I had to go get salt and pepper myself, continually ask for refills on our drinks, and to even get the waitress to pay any attention to us was a huge challenge. She could not give many details on the menu and just walked by our table and slid the bill on it. Normally I am exceedingly patient, but the attitude of this waitress was terrible!

Our first time visiting here. Service was okay, but servers weren’t very friendly. Food was okay, nothing spectacular. They were out of my first two choices, so I went with the scallops. A little overdone and not very favorable. Spicy Calamari was very good.

Anniversary

I had hoped to be writing a different review. Very disappointed after reading other reviews. My wife ordered the scallops and were over cooked and rubbery. I should have know we were headed down the wrong path when the waiter brought the wrong bottle of wine from what I had ordered. We were asked if we were attending the show and we said we were not so there was no rush, although it seemed he was in a hurry. It was not a relaxing experience.

Jonathan's never disappoints. Great food, reasonable prices and a warm, relaxing atmosphere that is wonderful. Our server, Darien, provided exceptional service which only added to a great experience.
