Das Original Hot und der Hot Fish Club wurden in den späten 1700er Jahren von den Pflanzern des All Saints Parish gegründet. Der Social Club wurde lukullischen Aktivitäten gewidmet; Gourmet-Essen, starke Getränke und festlichen Anlässen. Nach der Überlieferung befand sich der erste Club auf Drunken Jack Island, nur ein paar Kilometer südlich vom heutigen Standort. Die Mitglieder des ursprünglichen Vereins beschrieben die Zeit, die sie auf der Insel verbrachten als die "glücklichsten Stunden ihres Lebens." Der Club wurde demontiert und nach Ende des Bürgerkrieg schließlich geschlossen. Eine sich ständig bewegende Sandbank vor der Küste von Huntington Beach State Park ist alles, was von diesem ursprünglichen Standort heute übrig ist. Der heutige Hot Fish Club befindet sich im ältesten bestehenden Restaurantgebäude auf dem Grand Strand. Der Hot Fish Club bleibt ein beliebter Treffpunkt für anspruchsvolle Einheimische und steht allen Gästen offen, die auf der Suche nach köstlichem Essen, guten Getränken und anregenden Gesprächen sind- ganz im Geiste dieser früheren Gesellschaft. “Good Food and Bad Advice.” Such is the motto for this one-of-a-kind restaurant that’s in the planning stages as we go to press. Located beside Hot Fish Club on the southern end of Murrells Inlet, it’s owned and operated by the HFC family – but it’s a totally different experience. The menu is quirky, to say the least, with a focus on affordability – most items run between $4 and $12 – and fresh, locally sourced meats, seafood and produce whenever possible. The team is still working out the particulars, but the choices are definitely different and change frequently to keep things interesting. Take time to explore and expect the unexpected from a restaurant where one of the items offered is described as “kinda weird, but tasty.” Lowcountry looks forward to this new venture from our friends at the Hot Fish Club. With a broad menu, pub-inspired atmosphere and an awesome atmosphere, the IPC is shaping up to be a mighty fun place to hang.
