Sie finden uns in zentraler Lage in San Rafael neben Highway 101, gegenüber dem berühmten Frank Lloyd Wright Marin Civic Center. La Toscana ist ein familiengeführtes italienisches Restaurant mit Bar in Marin County. Es wurde 1985 von Paolo Mori, seiner Frau Marilyn und Michele Quilici gegründet. Die Besitzer wuchsen alle im italienischen Lucca auf und kamen in den späten 1950er Jahren in die USA. Sie wollten eine Atmosphäre schaffen, die sie an zu Hause erinnerte - einen Ort, an dem sich die Menschen aus der Nachbarschaft trafen, um gemeinsam mit Familie und Freunden das Essen und den Wein zu genießen, wie das in Italien üblich ist. Küchenchef und Miteigentümer Giovanni Racanello stieg 1986 bei La Toscana ein. Paolos und Marilyns Tochter Laura Mori Riella und der jüngste Sohn Michael Mori schlossen sich 1992 bzw. 2002 dem Team von La Toscana an. Paolo liebt es - wie alle Moris - dafür zu sorgen, dass sich seine Gäste wohl fühlen. Seine Leidenschaft für gutes Essen und Wein teilt er gerne mit seiner Kundschaft. Diese stolze Tradition möchte La Toscana fortführen.

    Insalata's never disappoints and my husband thinks they have the best burger in Marin County. Their Fattoush salad has gotten a little pricey at $25 but is still so delicious. It's huge and could easily be split. Service is prompt and courteous and they have a menu that's hard to choose from as there are so many mouth-watering choices. We love to visit Insalata's and plan to return there often.

    I was surprised at how beautiful this restaurant is and at the same time how comfortable. The upstairs bar will be as wonderful in the winter as the summer when the fireplace is finished. The food was great and the spirits exceptional. My gin and tonic was one of the best ever. Our waitress was friendly, approachable and informative without being intrusive. I hope to have her as my waitress next time I go. Truly, it was a completely positive experience in every way. Tu Tâp is a great asset to San Anselmo.

    This meal was perfect from the beginning to the end! We were guided by a helpful and friendly server named Tyler. I started with a bacon bourbon drink that was dramatically served under a glass of smoke. We split a tasty spinach salad and then split the melt-in-your-mouth short ribs. A table near us ordered the sourdough bread and butter board, and the simple beauty of it made us cave in and order it as well. For dessert, we had an ice cream sundae with toasted marshmallows. The chef really knows what they are doing!! Everything was delicious. We loved it so much we have already made reservations to come back!
