   I typically love it there. I come for the ribeye. It is a special but often available. I have had it about five times prior, delicious every time. For whatever reason, last night it was the opposite. It was strange, but it was poorly cooked and tough. I left half the steak. I can’t imagine why. The new citrus salad is great, stuffed calamari now on the menu also great. Unfortunately, we might not rush back given the ribeye.

   We were very pleased with our dining experience at One53. We were celebrating our anniversary and were looking for good ambience and good selection of food and drinks! We had the citrus salad and gnocchi with sautéed shrimp and spinach both of which were on their specials and my husband had the pork chops highly recommended by our server. All the dishes were excellent and we’ll definitely go back to try the rest of their menu. In fact the pork chops were the best he had ever eaten!!

   Full disclosure - this is one of our favorite “greater Princeton area” restaurants and we have been going there since it opened - I think about a decade ago at least. We love to sit at the bar, dine, and converse with Craig, Manny or whoever is working that night. We love the cocktails and the food at this place - particularly the “seasonal” menu offerings which change about every quarter. Last night we had the Shrimp and Grits, Mussels - which were exceptionally plump) and a terrific crab-stuffed calamari appetizer. All were outstanding. Cocktails are great and something to look forward to. It is a little pricey - but we think it is worth it and try to come at least every couple of months. An upscale version of “Cheers”!. Check it out.
