   Randy and Christiaan were amazing! Took a friend there in about a week of being there the first time. Was awesome and my friend loved it too!

   Incredible little find. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience some amazing, thoughtfully created cocktails. I was super impressed with the space and Randy was clearly super passionate about creating a one of a kind experience. He has curated delicious cocktails, we’ll definitely be back.

   Had an amazing evening at afterEIGHT. We booked the 7:15 on Sunday, so you have your seat in the SpeakEasy until the guests from EIGHT move over. Our bartender Kristian was absolutely lovely, so friendly and talented. His supervisor, Randy, is outstanding! So incredibly knowledgeable and so passionate for the brand and for Chef Darren’s work. The drinks were likely the best in Calgary. We’ve been to some pretty great Speakeasy’s all over the States, and the commitment to detail and using Canadian/local really blew me away. It’s not inexpensive by any means, but you have to try this place. Without giving too much away, key words on the menu for my three favourite drinks: beet, coffee, honey. Enjoy!!

   Great experience! Super tiny space with amazing ambiance. Both our bartenders (Randy and Robin) were amazing - very knowledgeable and it was super fun watching them make our drinks and provide recommendations. All our of cocktails were delicious and there are many others we want to try. Loved the thoughtfully selected glassware as well. Candied walnuts and prawn cocktail were great - popcorn was just meh. Definitely will come again!

   One of the most surreal cocktail experiences I've had. From Idris greeting us to Robin and Christian serving us, there was never a moment the quality of service lapsed. The drinks were beyond my expectations and a very unique offering I'll doubt you'll find anywhere else. If you are going definitely try the sushi and sashimi cocktail, it was a stand out among standouts. The general manager Emily also graced us with her presence, and if the quality of the rest of the staff was a testimate to her skills as a leader, she would surely rank among the best. Definitely go out of your way to experience after eight even once I can promise you won't regret it.

   There’s a great ambiance and the cocktails are good - luxury pricing but reasonable. The downside was that we felt incredibly rushed to have to be out of there in one hour. We couldn’t relax and we kept thinking afterwards that we would have spent a lot more money (more drinks, more food) if we felt like we could take our time. P.s. allowing guests to take just one photo, even if the bartender takes it, would be really nice.

   Thanks so much for joining us for the YYC EXP experience and for sharing your feedback! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the ambiance and cocktails — it means a lot to us. We understand your thoughts on the timing. YYC EXP runs on a tighter schedule, but during regular service, we offer 90-minute seatings so guests can relax and enjoy more at their own pace. With our small space, this helps us keep the vibe intimate while accommodating everyone. As for the no-photo policy — we get it! We're experimenting with it to encourage a more present, screen-free experience, but we really appreciate your suggestion about allowing just one photo. It's something we'll definitely consider. We’d love to welcome you back for the full experience soon — with more time to sip, snack, and settle in!

   For the ultimate in a speakeasy experience, afterEight certainly fits the bill for an intimate, attentive and curated experience. Randy is the most polished and professional bartender you’ll find in town, and will make recommendations for libations based on your taste preferences. Beautifully presented cocktails, intimate setting with only eight patrons - I’ll be returning time and time again.

   A very special cocktail experience. So much care and attention is spent curating and creating the perfect ingredients in-house. Truly an elevated cocktail. The venue is tiny, no phones/photos allowed, so you are just in the moment with your fellow guests.
