   My wife and I eat at Amazon last week - the two meals were fine but towards the end of my Lamb I felt something odd and metallic in my mouth - when extricated, it resembled a large staple!!!! The manager was called and he investigated - to his credit, he returned after his investigation and explained (with profuse apologies) that it had come from a wire brush that they use to clean down the grill. He handled the situation very well. Goodness knows what harm would have been caused to my digestion system if I had swallowed the thing - I very nearly did. They didn't charge for the meal which was the least to be done and we were promised that their Head Office would be in touch with further compensation for the incident and the genuine anxiety that it caused us. We were distinctly unimpressed when a voucher for a bottle or Prosecco arrived in the post - hardly appropriate recompense for such a serious lapse in health and safety. The gravity of the incident was not lost on the Manager but their Head Office clearly haven't a clue about customer service. If they had treated us with an apt level of respect, I would not be posting this review. Disgruntled of Stamford

   amaarone serves good food and has pleasant service. the toilets are a long way down in the basement---should be a notice to warn ladies of a certain age---lucky had been before so knew to go to disabled so didn't get caught out . !!!!

   We enjoyed our meal at Amarone. The service was good and the waiters friendly. We had a nice booth with plenty room for 4 people. The only complaint was there was only one bottle of rose wine on the menu. Would have liked more of a choice.

   Really enjoyed everthing about Amarone.Will definitely return.Our teenage children loved it too.

   I took my parents to Amarone in Edinburgh for dinner on a busy festival weekend. We had an excellent booth table in the corner of a buzzing atmosphere. The food and service were excellent and my parents enjoyed it very much. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely be back!

   This was my second time dining in Amarone and i was not disappointed. The foccacia with ricotta, spinach and caramelised onion is a must try - very good. I had the tiger prawn and crab meat risotto and it was also delicious. The others had pizzas and gave them good reviews too. Overall food, service and ambience were great but i thought it was a tad on the pricey side. I know there is a set lunch and dinner menu but this is only up to 6.30pm. If there were more special offers available through Toptable i would eat here much more often.

   a lovely 2 course lunch special at amarone, edinburgh the only problem is the time it takes to get to the toilets, down a spral staircase, then still through 2 more doors !!!! no warning of this------having vertigo and a weak knee i would have asked where the disabled toilet was----had to ask for next time

    My 3rd visit - but first at a lunch time. The set menu is perhaps slightly dearer than the eateries close by but the difference in the quality and taste is worth every extra penny. House wine is good and reasonable and therefore overall a good venue at a fair price. Despite always being busy - even outwith normal lunch hours the service is good and at the same time you do not feel you are being hussled out.
