The service was outstanding .. even timing our entrees until our appetizers were eaten! That doesn't always happen. There seem to be better times of the day to go -- lunchtime is almost always very busy so going early (11/11:30) or late (after 1) are better times. Was esp. pleased that the good jazz was playing v. the somtimes pretty awful hardrock! Better music for lunch and even dinner for conversations helps.
My experience was terrible, the service was even more terrible, and the food wasn’t even worth it.
The food (especially the curry) left a lot to be desired.
always enjoy the happy hour deals at Asia Nine and it's a good option before going to E Street Theater.
We were visiting DC for the week. We stopped at Asia nine on our first day in town and then again on our last day in town. The sushi and sashimi we're fresh and delicious. The entrees we had were well-prepared and delicious, both times it was a very enjoyable late lunch and early dinner.
Stopped here for a late lunch sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicious the kids loved it.
Consistently good food -- esp. when they aren't overly busy! Only complaint was that around 7-something in the evening, the music changed from 'we can still talk' to almost disco-like. Odd choice on the night before a holiday and a not-crowded restaurant with more people seeming to be there for a dinner w/ conversation. Food was great. Server excellent.
Food was good except for the horrible Mochi ice cream. Also added 20% tip on total and tax and we only had 2 on our check. I normally tip on the tax also but didn't like the assumption.
Great ramen! The restaurant was quiet/not busy for a Friday night, but service was excellent.
The restaurant would benefit from some repairs. Tile was missing in the bathroom, some chipped paint and overall wear and tear throughout.
Even though we called and made reservations, we were give less desirable seating right near the front door. Not enough servers and those called in to help were dressed inappropriately.
Was expecting a much different experience for this price.
A few co-workers took out a friend for her birthday. They gave us so much food, that we could only eat half of it. The food was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
We booked a table for 8. My coworkers arrived early and checked in and they sat them at a table for 6. They tried to assist and pull up another table to make it 8 and the Male host got upset, pouring about nobody listening to him when he'd obviously made a mistake, so they moved themselves to a proper seat for 8 in the back. The restaurant was not full, so this is a bit embarrassing. Checks, food and service are typically lacking when we go in a group larger than 4 sadly, but better training and attentiveness is required. Really the only thing it has going is the food is usually great, but this time the seafood in the udon soup dish tasted off, and not fresh at all. We have to find another venue for large parties of 6 or more.
Attentive service, wonderful food. Perfect dinner!
Asia Nine's Lamb Chops are supurb! Tender, moist, flavorful! You won't be disappointed. The red sangria is great too! This is a great pre-theater restaurant.
Visiting DC and I have found a gem. I will recommend to friends that visit the city and I will definitely return next time that I am in DC
Good location, solid food
Food was delicious and great portions. Plus they were able to adopt several dishes to be gluten free which was great for me.
Food took 30-40 minutes to come out. And the waiter had to come back and confirm one if the dishes after waiting about 20 min.
The waiting staff were terrible. They brought my friend out a meal she ordered, but my friend decided that the meal didn't look appetizing. That said, the waitress agreed to switch the food out with another entrée, but instead brought her out the same meal and just reorganized the ingredients on the plate. I will not go back here again.
Great find for the family while in DC on vacation
Great sushi and pad Thai. Very courteous servers.
The food was excellent; the coconut soup with lemon grass was just a delightful blend of flavors. I also loved the salmon tartar - it had caviar sprinkled on it to give it a little crunchy texture. The ambiance is OK; a very open area with lots of tables.
The food was great! The prices were reasonable. The sushi was the table favorite!
Consistently good with yummy sushi! The ginger salad is always good and they have great curries.
We had oir date night here and it was FANTASTIC. We look forward to making this one of our favs
Pretty good food and excellent service... happily go again :)
We were a group of 4 in for a pre-theater dinner and split everything, and everything was worth ordering again. Two star appetizers - duck roll and curry puffs. The lo mein with ground chicken was perfectly spicy. Panang curry was delicious. We added the papaya salad, which added freshness to the table. We'll be back again soon.
Great service, the bartender was very attentive to you. Happy hour at the bar was a great deal! Dragon roll was super delicious. Would recommend
Food was good but not great but good sized portions. Fair value for the money. Ambiance was okay for informal dining. Not a "date" restaurant. It wasn't crowded when we were there but there are so many tables in the large room I would imagine it could get very noisy.
It was an enjoyable evening. The food and service was good.
Service was very slow in the beginning
This place has gone downhill. Service was awful with our waitress smelling like fresh smoke. Kept forgetting orders and then would come back 5 minutes later to say they were out of a particular item. Prices are high for relatively moderate portions. There are many other Asian resturaunt in this area I would recommend over Asian Nine
I was disappointed for waiting 5-10 mins to be seated. I also had reservations. I was on my lunch and only had a hour. I was late getting back to work. There was only one Attendant at the host station and he was taking care of carryout order, uber eats & sitting people that were arriving. I had to get a waitress to seat us so we would not have to wait any longer.
I was eating alone. They were very nice. Did not put me in the corner as some restaurants do with single diners.
I was there during Sunday happy hour. The happy hour food was very good.
The food was excellent, we started with the crab Rangoon, a sushi roll, and the spring rolls. I had the Korean beef which was flavored delicious.
Despite restaurant being only 1/4 filled, we waited after being seated 20 minutes for a server to come by with water. We had to go to the front desk to ask. After we ordered, the food came quickly, but getting the server's attention for more wine, water & dessert was difficult. While the server was pleasant, he seemed to be so multi-tasked that he was not focused. We asked if other waitstaff did not show up but he said that this was "normal." While we like the food, this is about the 3rd time we have experienced service problems. We will no longer return to this place.
We had a great time. Really good ambiance; even better cocktails. Try the cucumber martini.
It's always nice to take a new friend to Asia Nine and she loved the sushi. I tried "Crying Tiger" because it was a day that I wanted beef which I eat little of. It wasn't great. The meat was overcooked and tho' I love the sides, they also come with the Thai BBQ Chicken which I recommend far more than the meat. The sizzling beef looks like a better quality beef if you are in the mood for beef.
BEST was that they had jazz playing! FAR better than the usual too-loud other music. It suited the restaurant far better.
